Looking to buy a non-bootlegged copy of Tactics Ogre...

CAGiversary!
Well, I bought a used copy of Tactics Ogre off Ebay for ~$20...before I realized how common pirated copies were. The game didn't fit in my GBA properly, so I decided to do some research, and quickly came to the conclusion that it was a pirated copy. In fact, the game's label isn't even the real one, it has different artwork. This is the auction I bought it from:

I'd avoid this seller, I think he's selling lots of pirated carts, judging from his auctions. The game I bought had one save, with a character named AAAA that was 10 minutes into the game, probably put their by the seller to make it look used when it was actually new. I'm going to try to get my money back, I sent him a message saying it didn't work and I'd like to return it, we'll see how it goes...

Anyway, I still want to buy a legit copy, could you guys take a look at these Ebay auctions for me? They all look legit to me, but they could just be much better fakes.

Thanks!

I bought around 5 used GBA games but non of them were bootlegs. Maybe only buying the ones with all the original stuff (box, inserts, manual, etc) included has something to do with it. I noticed all the bootleg copies that's been posted on this boards always came with cart only.

you can report bogus ebay sellers to nintendo. they have a special email box or phone number or something. let me look it up for you.

How is that gonna help the OP acquire non-bootlegged copy?

Well, if Nintendo really cracked down on the people selling bootlegged copies, it would be easier for anyone to buy stuff off eBay without worrying about it being a fake.

Buy games on ebay from sellers who seem like actual people. Someone with a few hundred feedback, not 25,000. Beware of sellers that have identical auctions for the same game. Noone has 20 copies of Tactics Ogre. Also lookout for sellers that have standardized auctions with stock photos and cut n pasted descriptions. Lastly, dont buy from sellers that sell tons of gameboy games, but everyone says something like 'No box, box was damaged in shipping, or something similarly shady.

I only buy gba games on ebay from US based small volume sellers, that post pics of the actual product you are bidding on.

Ive bought a handful of gba games on ebay and never gotten a bootleg.

I got a message back from the seller, he says he'll give me a refund if I return it.

Honestly, before buying this game, I didn't realize bootleg games were such a problem on Ebay, I'll be more vigilant from now on.
