Looks like Best Buy finally pushed someone too far

does any one else find it odd that in the headline they state at least one person hurt? Do they not know how many people were hurt and people could be lying in the parking lot dying?
You just KNOW Rockstar and GTA will get blamed for this.
give it a few days that will be the outcome

Damn that's fucked up.

Pretty ballsy of the mall employees to take him down IMO even if he was out of ammo at that point. I mean they couldn't have been absolutely sure he wasn't reloading or didn't have a back up pistol, etc.

Another person was injured in the hand, but police said the injury was not a gunshot wound.
What? then how is this information significant to the shooting? dDid the shooter step on some guy's hand? what sense does this make?
they never sent him his backordered resident evil dead aim!
Hmmm. Based upon the lack of fatalities, it would suggest that his RE:Dead Aim is still backordered if not cancelled by now.

I suspect there was a great deal of people running around to get the hell out of there and given that an injury to someone's hand could've resulted from numerous things, but the contributing reason any such injury occured was probably because of the crazed gunman.

or if he would hit them with the gun.

He emptied the clip of an assault rifle and only hit 1 person? Don't get me wrong, its a good thing, but he must not have been trying to kill or even hit anyone in particular.

Maybe some hardcore Halo 2 players saw him, said "OMG spray n pray LOL!" and took him down. Then video games could get the credit for doing GOOD.

That might be, but a true gamer wouldn't have such bad accuracy and hit only one person after emptying an AK-47 clip.

Well a gamer would probably try to fire the gun whille sprinting full speed and jumping into a warthog looking Jeep.

An Army recruiter was shot in the leg but was not the target of the attack, said Lt. Col. Paul Fanning, a National Guard spokesman. The recruiter was evacuated by helicopter to an Albany hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.

Do you get a purple heart for that?
Someone misses there gamers gift card a bit too much.
Or maybe he bought one of those expired gamer gift cards some BB's still sell and they wouldn't honor the coupon.

Sounds more like the first level in State of Emergency. Of course, no one would know that since no one played it.

I wonder if the Army recruiter who was shot will receive the Purple Heart? :whistle2:k btw1217 beat me to it. :x

I doubt it, more then likey he was in civilain clothes, they prolly said he was in the army to make it seem like a better story. I think the purple heart comes out if he was shot while overseas or something, kind of like a war.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure its only awarded for those wounded in combat.

It's not funny that he got shot or anything and I'm not trying to joke about it, but is it not ironic that the guy shot was an Army recruiter?

 either that or some 1337 CS players, "lolz newb pwnt!!!4"

No, it was definately someone from SOCOM 2. I swear I saw them run out of the wall and tackle him.

Hahahaha. "He fired a significant amount of rounds", "Mall employees stopped him when he ran out of ammo" yet "ONE person was injured". Can't blame video games for aim that terrible.

Seriously though, that is insane.

I would have figured Circuit City as a more likely site. All those peple walking around in red shirts.

The guy was obviously a console gamer dependent on auto-aiming.

They're going to blame this on acid and Halo, I've got money on it. Maybe somewhere in between they'll blame Marylin Manson too. Then Gamestop will card people for games for about 6 months, more of our tax dollars will be wasted on redundant Senate hearings that grill programmers and game-hating psychoanalysts, Dateline NBC and Bill O'Reily will do special reports, and everything will go back to normal.

On a side note-A kid blamed his knack for blowing snot rockets in class in Jr. High on Boogerman for Genesis

I was just at that mall two weeks ago trolling for deals...mostly because it was such a backwoods looking area and I was wanting some Suikoden II loving. All I picked up was a green tag Giga Wing at a nearby TRU, so maybe the dude was pissed that they didn't have squat there.

"Two other people had bullet holes in their pant legs, Olson said."

Wow that's lucky. I'd frame those pants and hang them up on my wall. Hell of a story to tell your friends...
