Well, can we all agree that Michael is "the guy on the boat" like many of us have thought before?
I still don't think Aaron is one of the 6, (he was never on the manifest for flight 815)
and what the HELL was up with that girl Harper in the woods? she just appeared, got Juliet to do Ben's bidding and then vanished?! and no one questioned it?! WTF?
didnt catch last nights episode due to sleep. its on the dvr though, so ill be posting around... 630 because im going to watch it as soon as im off work.
For all the people saying last night's was weak, I only want to point one thing out that made me love this episode.
We had something I consider a particularly huge revelation that actually moves the story forward a bit. I'm talking about
the fact that Charles Widmore is the person who sent the freighter out and is trying to find the island to exploit it.
We may find out that Ben didn't know the whole truth to this and there's more to it, but that seemed like a huge revelation to me.
While last night felt like a filler, bits and pieces of Juliets history were somewhat interesting. It being Widmore's boat just makes it even more twisted. Makes me wonder moreso of Desmond's fate. I wonder if Future Sayid is killing off Widmore's people in the future.
My friend made a joke comment about how DUDE ITS CHARLIE as the inside man on the boat. That made me crack up but oh what a twist it would be!
A main character is supposed to die soon and it will be a different death. I saw that Jin and Sun make it off the island but Jin leaves Sun because he wants to move to America. It would explain why no one else went because they are all busy, or hate him, or crazy.
And it's so stupid but Micheal has to be the person on the boat, it would be a bigger surprise if it wasn't him.

it was just like when walt showed up and got shannon killed.
maybe Ben can control what people see. Ben wanted shannon killed so that iraq dude would work for him
MARCH 20 show is called MEET KEVIN JOHNSON
libby, omar and naomi are all on the show cause it shows them in the listing
also was that Pennys father beating up that person who works for ben in that tape
Yea I think the preview gave it away. Its suposed to be their flash forward episode. I wonder if Jin speaks English by then.
Hahaha you mean more so than "you...say....they....friend?"
BTW have you guys ever heard an interview with Daniel Dae Kim? So articulate and well spoken. It's a trip seeing him interviewed and speaking with perfect English after the last few years of his character's growth with the language.
Walt isn't in the coffin, I saw Jin is.

Regarding the spoiler: Yup, called it.
And I wouldn't call Desmond one of the Oceanic 6, for 2 reasons. 1, he wasn't on the plane and isn't on the manifest, so it's doubtful he could be considered a survivor. And 2, we haven't seen him in any of the flash forwards, have we? I'm suspecting a "bad end" for him...no happily ever after with Penny.
Confirmed to be off the island in flash forwards would only be Sayid, Jack, Kate, Aaron, Hurley, Ben (with Desmond on the boat)...I think that's it.
Aaron may or may not be considered an "Oceanic 6 member". Ben, definitely not, but he does have the resources to pull off pretending to be one as discussed before and shown with his access to IDs.
I'm hoping Jin and Sun make it off, but I'm pretty worried it's only going to be one of them.
"also was that Pennys father beating up that person who works for ben in that tape"
Yes
And yes, KJ would be sweet. One of the finest players Cal ever produced, an all around nice guy and outstanding point guard.

refresh me on who omar is? (hard to remember all the old characters)
this episode made me think back to the end of season 2 when they blew up the hatch, and those two people in the observation post (somewhere cold) called penny to tell her they'd found something. Anybody with any theories on that now?
Thanks for the spoiler warning, douchebag.
I think he meant to say "I SAY Jin is", not "I SAW Jin is".
At least, that's what I hope he meant. Though he did say it twice. And how did Jin suddenly get a white/black guy's name? The obit from last season's finale had some white/black guy's name?
Some lostphiles think the name refers or is similar to Jeremy Bentham but instead it looks to be either John Lantham (or Latham).
I doubt if and when he got rescued, even if he and Sun were trying to hide from her father (how could that be possible since the 6 would be known around the world), that he would take a fake name such as that. More like John Lee or Robert Kim or Daniel Park.
yes, charles widmore is penny's dad.

Shit, I'm wondering who the hell Omar is too? One of the guys from the boat? Or Sayid's old friend/military commander in Iraq that he killed to allow Nadia to escape?
As for the Arctic/Antarctic observation post, they called Penny because their seismic or geological or electromagnetic equipment measured the huge electromagnetic pulse/energy given off when the power source/energy dicharge/hatch base imploded? The energy given off was enormous, perhaps enough to affect the magnetic poles and E/M field around the earth, which they were measuring for.
Now why would Penny know to look for this and hire these people, no clue. Maybe she's been spying on daddy and his machinations?

He's been on ER (where he was great) and countless other shows. It must really suck to act using so little of your ability, however it also speaks of his ability to act without really speaking much.

I think he's mistakenly calling Michael Omar for some reason.
I'm surprised there is still all this talk about the Oceanic 6. People keep mentioning people who weren't on the plane and also Aaron. You will definitely know who the last TWO of the 6 by next episode, and the episode title and the preview CLEARLY gave it away. Yes I have read spoilers.
And for a picture of the obviousness of ths spy on the boat
Sweet. I love KJ. He was the best Phoenix Suns point guard ever. He'll make a fine addition.
Wrong Thread? EDIT: Whoops, I didn't read slidecage's post right. My mistake.
Also, I thought this last episode was weak. I mean it did give some interesting revelations, but compared to last weeks mindblowing episode, this was nothing.

Charlies body floats out of the radius of the islands time displacement making him come back to life? That would be win.

is that photoshopped or real? how did you get that?
micheal
is obviously the man on the boat, i hope everyone agrees.
In the ep from the other night, Juliette made some reference to a kid asking about his mother. Ben suggested that they kid would stop asking eventually.
I was a little confused by this...is it supposed to be significant? Is this one of the kids that was on Oceanic 815 that the Others kidnapped on their first night on the island?
Has the show ever explained where the kids are at this point? I've seen every episode...repeatedly...but I don't remember them wrapping up that bit of the narrative.

Those were the two kids that Eko and Ana Lucia were protecting when the tail end crashed.
I can't believe so many people disliked this episode. We've learned:
Why Goodwin was sent to the tail section
Where the hostiles attained the gas to kill off the Dharma Initiative
Ben is still in connection with the Others
WHO OWNS THE GODDAMN FREIGHTER
The island is somehow nullifying Hurley's curse
The apparitions that occur during the whisper sequences are MORE than just apparitions
Not to mention the fact that Jack and Juliet are in a full relationship now, Locke and Ben have a wary alliance, and Claire is starting to evolve as a character- more than just the Australian mother.
Of all that was revealed in this episode, however, the very most important detail:
We now know Ben's weakness. We've seen him lose his cool for the very first time. Juliette will be his undoing, and Jack'll be there to hurry the process along.

what sort of brings up more questions.
why are they making poison gas in the first place ....
Who made the poison gas. Dharma or the hostiles on the island
Ben could of been lying on who owned the boat so locke would blow it up
I think it was the money that was cursed not hurley. so no money no curse
how do you know they are more then apparitions. Some belive chanting can bring sprits into this world.... This is why i still think the main people on the island is the Lost people of the Maya empire

Its all over any Lost spoiler site. I if you google lost and spoiler at the very first link that picture is on top. Not big news anyway because I believe his name has been in the credits and cast listings anyway.

Yea i wasn't really surprised, because JJ Abrams announced he would come back to LOST this season at Comic Con.
wouldnt they know michael is from flight 815. i mean, they had the manifest, and you have to figure they have seen pictures of the passangers. so wouldnt the people know that who he is and that he was on the island before. just seems weird that theyd let him roam around the boat knowing that hes been there and that he might know where ben is and such (especially since he does know where ben is. so yeah, seems odd.
Not to mention the fact that Jack and Juliet are in a full relationship now...
Does anybody else think that Jack is playing Juliet? Kinda like turning the tables on the Others for toying with him so much. My reasoning for this is b/c
Jack isn't playing Juliet. He's in his own world, where no matter how spectacular an event he still won't believe it and still acts insulted when people like Faraday don't have rational explanations for things. He likes Juliet because she's a doctor-type like himself and if anything she's still playing him for some sort of grand betrayal. Only the twist is probably going to be that it's Richard Alpert who she's working for, not Ben.
My guess is Richard Alpert was the one who was in cahoots with Juliet to have Jack let him die in surgery. Perhaps she's still focused on Ben's leadership being usurped. I think Jack is the ace in the hole, because everytime Juliet proves she's not an Other anymore it seems like it was planned out the entire time. And with Jack the leader, all she needs to do is have Jack's trust and she has the entire camp's trust. That would also explain why the surviving Others (probably under the new leadership of Richard Alpert) are still nowhere to be found. Probably waiting for their moment at Juliet's cue.
I'm convinced that Alpert resents Ben because it was Alpert who took Ben in and somehow Ben became their leader. Alpert wants Ben gone and Locke was supposed to be the one, going back to when Alpert told Locke that Sawyer could kill his father for him and Ben wouldn't be any wiser. Basically, Ben has about 4.5 groups that want his head: the renegade Others, Penny's dad, Dharma/Hanso, most of the crash survivors, and arguably Locke. Locke is probably the closest thing Ben has to an ally.
Penny's dad is Charles Widmore. Richard is the guy who appears to be immortal or something as he had the same appearance/age in I think Ben's flashback when Ben was a child and in current time. IIRC, we may not see his character this season because the actor has another series he's on now.
Richard Alpert is supposed to be of the people there before Dharma, at least the show hints at that. In the flashback where Ben was a kid and in the current time on the island, Richard has not aged. Ben even made a joke about it being his birthday and saying "You remember birthdays, right, Richard?"
EDIT: Using the anagram idea a lot of people use to find clues, Alpert's name spells out "rare child trap" and "not in portland" which is possibly a reference to either Ben or Walt (maybe both) and the name of the episode where he recruits Juliet for the island.
Episode 4.07: Ji Yeon (Sun/Jin-centric) Airdate: March 13, 2008
02/23 - Juliet is forced to reveal some startling news to Jin when Sun threatens to move to Locke's camp. Meanwhile, Sayid and Desmond begin to get an idea of the freighter crew's mission when they meet the ship's Captain. Guest starring are Sam Anderson as Bernard, Jeremy Davies as Daniel Faraday, Rebecca Mader as Charlotte Lewis, Jeff Fahey as Frank Lapidus, Kevin Durand as Keamy, Marc Vann as doctor, Grant Bowler as Captain Gault, Lanny Joon as Dr. Bae, Simon Rhee as shopkeeper, Zoe Bell as Regina, Christine Kim as admitting nurse, Lynette Garces as another nurse, David Yew as Chinese security agent and George Kee Cheung as Chinese ambassador. Source: ABC
11/18 - Fans of the show will be happy to know that we're wrapping up filming on episode seven, which happens to be a Sun/Jin episode, called "Ji Yeon." Source:Daniel Dae Kim on his MySpace page
11/18 - A fan translated a Korean article, this is an extract: "When [Yunjin Kim] received her script, she got shocked to find out the title of her episode; 'Jiyeon', and it is also the name of Sun and Jin's baby. Yunjin is surprised because the name of Yunjin's character in her [new movie 'Seven Days'] is Jiyeon, too. Jiyeon is name of Korean females, and I think it's kind of common name but not that popular one." Source: Lost Spoilers
11/03 - The street scene appears to be the exterior counterpart to the toy store scene they filmed the day before. We see Jin come out the door with, yes, a giant stuffed panda bear. He's helping his plushy new pal into a taxi cab when a guy speeding past on a blue moped knocks his cell phone out of his hand. As he stoops to pick it up, the taxi cab takes off with someone else inside. Jin runs after the cab, yelling angrily, and to no avail. Cursing, he smashes his phone to bits on the street. [...] Many [crew members] had to rush off to report to the day's second shoot: a scene with Sun, Yunjin Kim at a funeral. Source:Hawaii Blog
10/30 - The [Toys N Joys] store was only slightly rearranged, the Lost set crew covering up brand names and logos with random Korean art and signs. Details of what transpired behind the store's cluttered windows when cameras rolled are unsurprisingly slim, but I'm told it involved a big, plushy panda. Source:Hawaii Blog
10/30 - Blog reader Alicia Chang and her coworker Shannon Fera did some scouting this morning, and it looks like filming is currently underway at Toys N Joys on Waialae Avenue. They're speculating that it's part of a flash-forward scene, and I have to agree. Somehow I don't think that a 'Charme Beaute Salon: Room 3 Upstairs' would be commonly found in South Korea... Source:The Honolulu Advertiser
10/29 - Kiwi stuntwoman Zoe Bell [...] said from Los Angeles yesterday that her next project was in Hawaii filming episodes of Lost, starting next week. [...] Bell described it as "a little acting role" that would involve some stunt work. Source: Lost Spoilers
10/21 - Huston - 50s, male, Caucasian, weathered face, salt and pepper hair, a man who immediately commands great authority but someone you don't want to cross. He has a job to do and he doesn't allow anything to get in his way - even the death of his employees. Guest star. Doctor - Male, early 30s, Korean. Professional and accomplished, a calming presence in times of crisis. Working his regular shift, he gets more than he bargained for. Must be able to speak Korean. Shopkeeper - Male, Korean, any age. Pleasant, eager to please the customer and make a sale, cool under stress, able to deal with difficult customers and keep them happy. Must be able to speak Korean. Regina - Late-20s to early 30s, any ethnicity. Tough, formidable, someone who could take an order and execute it flawlessly but who is now a shell of her former self; nervous and paranoid.
OK, I totally didnt get tonight's episode. How exactly did Jin die? Why was he running around with Pandas?
There were 2 different flash backs. Sun's was a flash forward and Jin's was a flash back, before the island. I guess Jin & Sun get off the island shortly, as the tombstone read 2004.
Jin's running around with pandas was a flashback. That's why at the end he said "I've only been married for two months." Sun's was a flash-forward. And I don't think we established in the episode how Jin died, just that he did. Which made me tear up.
the date of death on the tombstone was 9/22/04. Perhaps they had to fake is death? OR is he REALLY dead? i'm confused s]
Well now I'm wondering. 9/22/04 is the date 815 crashed...I guess that would nix him getting off the island and then dying afterwards. He must die on the island.
so who is #6? hmmm....
So assuming Jin dies on the island, the 6 so far are Sun, Jack, Kate, Hurley, & Sayid. Perhaps if Jin is not in the 6 (& I dont think Aaron counts since he wasn't born yet), perhaps it could be... well, i really have noo idea. And if Jin dies on the island, wouldn't they leave his body ON the island with everyone else who has died?
Its only half way through on the West Coast but when the toy store owner said Year of the Dragon, I think its a clue. Some googling says 2000 and 2012 are the two recent Year of the Dragons on the Lunar New year calendars.
what did the Captain say to sayid and desmond about Ben? and when they finally meet
micheal, why did sayid act like he didnt know him?
I don't think he wanted the captain to know that he knew micheal because if he did, he would prob. kill them both, or at least lock them both up. Also, that would give away the fact that Micheal was on the island, which would tell the captain that he was the one breaking stuff on the ship.
