Aggro = aggressive attacking and not always a good thing in team combat. Let's say your teammates are equiping certain armor/weapons and you decide to attack the first monster you see. Unfortunately it's a high level monster. This will not end well as your team is basically caught with their pants down and die since they were unprepared. So 'aggro-ing' is discouraged most of the time. But if you're up against that same high level monster and your team is ready, they will encourage you to 'aggro dat bitch'.

LFM = let's fcuking move

LFG = let's fcuking go

Instance = a random dungeon for a specific quest

It is when there is a monster minding it's own business. Then you go up to it and attack it, now it is "aggroed" because it's attention is on you and it attacks.

LFM - Looking For More / Looking For Members

Also aggro refers to a mob that will attack without being provoked.

WRONG (at least for WoW)

LFG = Looking for Group (I need help to kill x)
LFM = Looking for More (I'm already in a group, and we need y more players)


Aggro = Each monster has a radius of awareness (aka aggro radius) that they will attack any appropriate level character that travels inside that radius. The act of tripping that attack refex is called aggroing. Low level characters are usually guilty of unintentionally aggroing large numbers of mobs. This is oppsed to intentionally causing a monster (or mob) to attack, which is called pulling (because you are usually engaging at range, causing the mob to charge you, thus "pulling' the mob toward you).

Huh. That's weird as my friends were saying that while we were already on a quest and miles from any sort of town. We were sitting there getting our stuff rdy and I thought my one of my friends was getting impatient as he kept sayin' LFG and LFM. Oh well. Learn somethin' new everyday.
