I once got in a fight with someone.

The riddle was: Which is heavier, a lb of feathers or a lb of rocks. This GHETTO ASS girl in my (sadly, HS) class could not wrap her brain around the fact that the answer was NOT feathers.

She and I almost came to blows...

Ok, that was random, but it was a thought I needed to get out.

Turns out Children of Mana isn't turn based. That's a nice surprise.

I think i'll play through this first tower thing, then go to bed. Got a full day of SPM ahead.

I've never played a mana game, so I just assumed they were turn-based RPGs. I got both Children and Sword for free from the CAG Superbowl Pool.

It's a neat game.

Night OTT. With any luck, I'll be home tomorrow with SPM, a guide for it (to please my completionist self), and paid-in-full preorders for Mario Party 8 and Pokemon Battle Revolution.

checked the order status on my super paper mario, and UPS will have it here tomorrow by the time I get off work.

Gamestop.com must have changed there warehouse, as I remember my packages always going through dallas then to some town in cali then to reno, then to me. Now it started up in seattle, went to ontario canada(?) and is now in some town in cali.

From what I've heard its pretty much "Diablo" for the DS. Does it come across as that to you so far? Curious as to what you think about Children as I've been tempted to pick it up.
 
Baseball game was fun. Lot's of Giants fans at the stadium, too bad the Giants lost 1-0.

I just saw something on Kirsten Dunst on Countdown w/ Keith Olberman. Apparently she told a british magazine or whatever that she smokes weed and the world would be a better place if everyone else smoked too. Giving us smokers more bad p.r. is all she is doing. She's cute, but probably shouldn't talk.

My girlfriend's Mom (who I can't stand) got her kid (a 15 year old boy) a DS for his birthday and some games. What games?

Then the whole time at the party she's bragging about how they were buy 1 get 1 free, she saved so much money, acting like she is queen of the deals. She spent $70 or so on 4 games when only TWO games would have been that much... I heard that plenty of times.

I stay quiet, and I think to myself how hilarious it's going to be when he ends up hating them all.

Fast forward to last night, and my girlfriend comes home from going over there and telling me how he hates all those games and won't even touch them, and his Mom won't let him trade them in because "she spent $60 on them and he's going to play them". They also got him Nintendogs, which is ALL he plays, but I give it another week before he's sick of that one too.

I laughed... it was a great moment. I just wanted to say "There is a reason they are b1g1 you stupid bitch".

Apparently, she's already told him he's not getting any more games because he has 5 and 5 is "more than enough" and he should "play what he has".

Apparently they want all over the place looking for one version of Nintendogs not knowing they are all pretty much the same... I had a laugh at that one too.

Never played Diablo, so I wouldn't know. I'm also sort of regretting starting this before Sword of Mana. Should I play Sword of Mana before this one, for anyone that's played them?
 
The only Mana games worth playing are Secret of Mana and maybe Legend of Mana, and I'm not too sure about the latter.

You can play the first one - originally Final Fantasy Adventure, later remade as Sword of Mana - but it's not that great.

I wouldn't call it Diablo-in-Japanese form, either. There's much more customization of characters in Diablo. Mana is just a typical hack and slash game for the most part.

The recent outings haven't been that great. But if you enjoy them, then go for it.

They are like FF in the vein that you don't have to play one before the other. They are all just generically branded Mana. So don't worry about not playing any before/after others.

But if you want to play the best one, it's Secret of Mana without question.

Alright. That's good to know, thanks. If you've played Children, could you tell me one other thing: After playing Children, will I go to play Sword and be disappointed in what seems like a step backward, sicne it will probably be less attractive and have less features than the DS version?

From the little I played, Children looked fun, so I'm going to give them a shot.

Sword of Mana was just a disappointment in general.

There is a reason nobody really talks about those games when bringing up the Mana series.

Wow, someone made a thread on gaming magazine deals better than Cheapy's Amazon deals in the deals forum, and a mod moved that thread into Other deals where it will probably be buried.

Yet Cheapy's thread is still in video game deals...

No big deal, I got PC Gamer for 2 years for $5.90, as opposed to one year for $15.
