I'm definitely not a pizza snob, so I'll eat just about any type of pizza. Except for Papa John's and Red Brick Oven. Everything else is fine. Granted some places are better than others, I'll take what I can get (thin & droopy would be my favorite though).
Not me - I have always had an ANS obsession. So much so that when her daughter was born, I told my wife: "Anna's daughter was born on my birthday and she named her Dani...coincidence?"
It's a sign from God. I bet it's your kid. You should probably be watching MSNBC right now.
Isn't Fairfax a good hike from Sugartits? How do you know about restaurants down here? :)

And I caught the first of the 2 Thank God You're Here episodes. (2nd is on the DVR.) Pretty good, but they definitely need to have good guests on it to keep it rolling.
we have a friend who grew up in the georgetown area of DC. his parents now live in gettysburg, and we went down and spent a couple of days there over the summer. his favorite restaurant is Uncle Julio's and he took us there twice over those couple of days.

some of the participants had bad scenes and some just sucked. the guy from SNL could've been brilliant if he had the second skit instead of the first one. (in the second episode). each guest had their moments though. i think it could be a good show if they got some of the particpants that were on who's line.

If you're down again hit up Coastal Flats in that same center. Julio's is great too, though. Lame that they charge extra for cheese and sour cream with fajitas.

what kind of food is coastal flats?
what kind of food is coastal flats?
Lot of seafood, although everything they make is great. Good crab cakes, lobster roll, fish and chips (they call them Grouper Fingers), calamari appetizer, etc. Their crab cake isn't the best I've ever had, but it's right up there. It's one of those places that you can order pretty much anything on the menu and know it's going to be great.

They have things on the menu other than seafood which I'm sure are also fantastic, but I usually stick to seafood stuff.

Did you hit up any other restaurants around this area you'd recommend I check out?
Mr. Bubble, that's nuts.
Yes it is, I got lucky by having the only copy online for a span of 4 days. I doubt another copy will go for as much till atleast the movie comes out. It'll be nice to pay off my CC bill and put money away for HorrorFind in August.

Is anyone else having trouble with....

You got a Donatos near you? They're really good. My friends and I always have to get some when I get back in town.

That would be an unfair advantage though. Two of them (Colin and Brad Sherwood) are touring doing live Who's Line-style improv shows.

since neither of us eat seafood (i eat crab cakes, shrimp (only fried, not cocktail, and tuna) so we didnt go to any seafood-heavy places esp. since either of us like the smell of seafood. lionhart doesnt eat steak because he likes his beef cooked welldone and most steak sucks if its welldone.

there was one place our friend talked about in Alexandria (i think) which was big on seafood and steaks. i don't remember the name of it, but thye had a copy of the menu in the loby of our hotel (we stayed at a quality inn down the street from his parent's house). i'll ask him.

the other places we hit up for food were the little places right off the main road through gettysburgh. they were all good but nothing overly noteworthy. we also ate in the smithsonian cafe for lunch when we were in DC.

No...he's trying to jump his car battery using citric acid. Or he's torturing someone and doesn't have access to a car battery and good nipple clamps.

It's a strange world, indeed.

Aye.

I didn't like them until I tried the DDN. Very good, very filling, fairly cheap.

Mongolian beef is my go to at Pei Weis (and PF Changs)

I'm a bit of a wimp as far as spicy foods. DDN might be more than I can handle.

I generally can't get my food hot enough. DDN isn't that spicy, but me saying that isn't a good barometer to go on.

If I could get them to add in bell peppers and some crushed red pepper flakes, that'd make it much better.

Edit: I just checked health info on the DDN. Only 390 calories and 7 grams of fat. So now it's filling, cheap, tasty, and healthy (in terms of fast food). I think I'm just going to eat there more often.

I get to watch The Godfather today in my History of Film class, which I'm hoping is really good. It'll last the entire 3 hour class period, maybe just a little bit longer.

I really hate that a lot of people just barge into our class, not realizing that they're early for their class and that there's another class in session. One of the tour guides even nearly brought in a group of people while we were watching a movie. Even though it's dark and there's maybe only 10 people in the class, it's still stupid to not realize that there's windows around the door so they can look inside without opening the door and see what's going on.

Have you never seen The Godfather? Easily really good.

I can take a bit of heat, but really not all that much. I've tasted quite a few spicy dishes there, and sometimes they are fine, other times I know I wouldn't be able to eat much of it without some serious pain.

I guess I get that from my parents. Recently I was eating some pizza with dad and he commented "Woo man, this pepperoni is really spicy!" "Uh yeah, pop, or maybe they put some black pepper on the pizza or something..."

*edit* Wubb- the name of the place that our friend was raving about was Sweetwater or something like that.
Have you never seen The Godfather? Easily really good.
Nope. It's one of the movies on my list. I'll have to update it today after seeing this and a few others from the list in class.

I expect you'll love The Godfather.

Ha! Sweetwater and Coastal Flats are owned by the same people. Both outstanding places - actually there are 2 or 3 of each restaurant IIRC mini-chains I guess. I very nearly mentioned that in my first post about CF.

lmao... your response needs to be "Is there anyone in there worth having an affair with? If so, please transfer me to them instead."

On another note, I'm workin on a doozy of an OTT. Too bad it's gonna take me a few days just to prepare the damn thing and then I gotta somehow be around to make the thing. Ugh... almost too much work. ALMOST!

I have heard a LOT of strange things, but never anything like that. Like the woman not more than ten minutes ago who was working innuendo into everything and even said (about her laptop), "It takes forever for it to come up...just like me."

Obviously, on its own, this could just be a reference to waking up in the morning. I err on the side of caution on just say "Mm-hmm" as if I'm not paying attention.

But "Are you having an affair?" That is awesome and needs to be worked into the lexicon...
I expect you'll love The Godfather.
Also if you are a Simpsons fan, suddenly you'll appreciate the many many Godfather references all the more.

I'd probably have joked back regarding the affair thing, but being that I work with mostly middle aged married women (both on the phone and in the office), I imagine that wouldn't go over well.

Frisky - I might have to steal part of your list. My gf and I are doing the same thing. Right now we've been watching a lot of Woody Allen movies.

"Everything you want to know about sex* (*but were afraid to ask)" is a fairly enjoyable movie.

My absolute favorite joke by far is the last bit, where it shows the inner workings of a man having sex. So it's switching between his brain and heart and testicles, and uses the old "tiny people running your body" metaphor. So there's all these guys in the brain calling other parts of the body and whatnot.

At some point it's showing the sperm, and it's all these white guys dressed in white suits with tails.

And then it zooms in on this black guy dressed as a sperm, and he just says "Why am I here?"

Man I just ate some pasta with half cut avacados mashed into it, flooded with baked chicken all on top, it was grandtissimo, and I know my ass is going to explode once I get out of work, I hate sitting on the can for a good 10 minutes making awful sounds and facial expressions.. it reminds me why I hate hot cheetos w/ nacho cheese. :[

That reminded me I have to get my OTT Explainer from my other PC and re-upload it.

omfg i dont think i've ever laughed this hard before. the sun coming in the window is reflecting off my laptop onto the wall/ceiling (i still have the clear plastic on the case). the dog just jumped up onto/over the couch trying to "get" it not realizing that it's LIGHT. he's going absolutely fucking crazy trying to get it. lionhart got him started with this, teasing him with a flash light a few weeks ago like some kind of overgrown retarded cat
... like some kind of overgrown retarded cat
it works because that's exactly what the dog is. :D

No wonder strell wants to cook him in a wok.
