I got a brand new Pearl snare FOR FREE! My cousin tried to learn how to play drums, but she never really picked it up, so she gave me her whole set. The rest of the drums are cheap TKO drums, but my snare is really nice. I use the set for recording demos at my house, because my drummer's set is much, much nicer :lol:

Max out the gain, lower the mids (but don't turn them all the way off), and get a noise suppressor, and you're set.

My first kit was a TKO. Then a Mapex V double bass kit, then an Export 6 piece. I kinda have a frankenstein of mine and our old guitarists, because he never really played em... But, I'm quitting the band after I can get some good recordings of my drums. I don't even talk to the members anymore, and we had our last show two weekends ago. I just can't stand it anymore. The recordings are shit because our singer preferred to record onto casette. If you are one of the few who have heard of the genre "shit noise", you will know why. There's an underground group who prefer to release their music on casettes. Our singer wants us to be one of them.

Nice! I agree that the songs would benefit from being properly recorded. I'm the type that prefers to record on cassette, but my music's genre is one that benefits from that sound. Metal does not :lol:

Quick side note just for you... We have fairly decent recordings, our singer just doesn't want to release them because he recently started playing guitar as well as doing vocals, so he wants to re-record em. We recorded em onto my computer and he deleted em before leaving... Yeah, I was pissed.
