lowest price 360 120gig hard drive

hey everybody i'm looking for the best place to find a cheap, new 120 gig hard drive for my xbox. can anyone point me in the right direction? thanks
 
I just bought one from Best Buy for full retail ($150) with the hope that because the Elite just dropped, that maybe they would drop the price on the 120gb too, and then I could get the difference back within 30 days. However, I was out of space and didn't really care about the price. If you can, search around on craigslist, there is a dude near me who will swap out just the drive inside the plastic inclosure with a 120gb drive for arond $80, or include a whole new inclosure for $120 (I think).

Who knows, there may be someone near you doing the same thing. Try searching for "xbox 360 mods".

I just checked and the price on amazon is currently $119. Isn't that just great? :bomb:

Or, if you're not confident in your abilities with computers, you can go on ebay and find 360 hard drive upgrade kits which provides you the 120 gig hard drive, pre-flashed so it's ready to work, as well as whatever special screwdrivers you need to open the old hard drive. With the hard drive pre-flashed for you, it looks like a piece of cake to make the switch yourself.

Of course, this is assuming you have an old 20 gb hard drive lying around, since you do need the old shell to plug the bigger hard drive into.
 
Check eBay I just got one for 80 dollars. Not as cheap as the Kmart or Sears sales but the chances of finding one is near impossible so 80 dollars is better than paying 150.
 
With the elite dropping to $299, they just have to drop the price of the 120GB drive. 60gb drives are probably going to be discontinued, so I'd think they'd go on clearance soon.

I found one at the first Kmart I went to looking for one. :razz: Of course, I only wanted it to trade for a game or two I wanted on here. But if I find another one, I'll let those of you looking for one know, though probably just to gloat, since I doubt any of you would buy a copy of a game(or two) and ship them here in trade. ;)
 
Well, if I don't get RF: G in the mail in the next couple of days and bgame2(who's somewhat local to me)doesn't clean out their PM's so I can ask if the game is en route, it may be back on the market.:D

Though if I find another one, I'll definitely be putting it up for trade, since I still only have a PS3 at this point.:cry:

Mind ya, I'll probably want like Ghostbusters for PS3 for it. :D

Me too. I actually got to some out of town Sears, as well and no dice. Dammit. Sears are harder and harder to find - as are K-Marts...

Ahhh well, after shipping out the HDD via flat rate PM box it'll be like I got RF:G for $25 and change give or take. Not a bad deal, if you ask me.
 
yeah no shot at all at any K-marts here i hit every one. they have 60 gig ones for 104.99 though lol
 
They don't look like legit microsoft branded 120 gigs, but laptop hdds encased in xbox enclosures. My question is how do you transfer the data from an old 20 gig without a transfer cable? Do the transfer cables from China work the same?
