Atlus is bringing over the Marvelous strategy RPG some this year, I'm looking forward to it.

Luminous Arc Key Features:

● An isometric strategy RPG on the Nintendo DS™!

● Create new weapons and equipment with the Vitae Imbuing system!

● Strengthen your friendship with comrades and improve your attacks on the battlefield!

● Compare your friends’ strategic prowess against your own with Wi-Fi multiplayer!

● A variety of unique characters drive an epic story featuring voiced dialogue!

Create new weapons? o_O Has anyone played the Japanese version? I'm wondering exactly what create new weapons means... I am such a freakin sucker for games that have aspects like that... I wonder how many possibilities there are...

I'm really interested in this, but I've only played FFT and FFT:A. Does anyone know if there is a class system in this game? Or is it just weapon creation?

Ive been dying for a srpg of this type on the DS. Im jealous of all the NIS strat rpgs that the psp has. Unless they totally eff this up I'll be picking it up.

So, is anyone getting this game? I thought the game looked pretty cool a while ago and definitely want it. I may not get it on release, but I'm definitely interested. I would like to have an SRPG on DS, and listening to Mistuda music is always great.

A few reviews have been posted:

I was all hyped up about it, until I realized how long it's going to take me to get through all my GBA SRPGs... knocking this one down in the to-buy list. Definitely getting it, but no point right now.

I MIGHT get it. Though it looks like it's going to be a casualty of the Persona 3 delay. If that game had come out when it was supposed to I might be buying Luminous Arc tomorrow instead of Persona 3. We'll see what happens.

As long as it's the old Mitsuda. If it's new Mitsuda, they can keep that garbage. His recent work has been horrific.
I'm picking it up, although I didn't know this had Wi-Fi!? Can you do battles over the internet?
Yes. Hopefully this'll be a standard feature on all DS SRPGs...

Yea, online battles...reason no one knows is that in the mainstream reviews, like EGM, they didn't even mention it, and just listed it as 1 player, but the game has local wireless and nintendo wi-fi (with both friends and random matchups possible).

I'm never going to find the time with this, HoM, FFVII:RW, and Rune Factory... I'll be swamped with games to play that maybe I'll even delay buying Zelda...

Sadly, this is something that I would normally love but there's just too much on my to-play list right now. Plus, I don't want to get burned out on SRPGs before the new FFT comes along.

I've been playing for 3 hours now and I'd say it's pretty good. It's no FFTA though. :( If you're going to listen to the VA I recommend that you put on some earphones or otherwise, they soud like crap. They have tutorials in the game, but you have to READ them. wtc No demonstration battles, which can be a let down for first time SRPG gamers. And if it matters, this game has EXCELLENT music. Even though it's like 3 tracks over and over again, but they're still good. >_> I'm a little dissapointed at the fact that you dont get any EXP for hitting your own characters. lol

There are some big titty witches in this game, automatically giving it a STAMP OF APPROVAL.

Kinda surprised at the voice - they certainly aren't the best, but I don;t think Ive played another DS game with so much VA in it.

Only gotten through a few battles, hopefully I can play all day at work tomorrow.

And great music, though with Mitsuda I can't be shocked

I just started playing LA and had a question - is there any penalty for having a party member die in battle, other than the obvious fact that their unusable for the rest of the battle?

As in, will anyone ever die permanently that I need to safeguard? Do they lose the experience they earned in the battle prior to dying?

Thanks!
