A friend of mine from back in college works at a Mom n Pop game store about 45 minutes from where I live and just told me they have a copy of Lunar 2 used for PS1 for $59.99 in mint condition. Is the game worth it at this price or should I just use my money on trying to track down a copy of Earthbound?

Any help is appreciated!

If it's complete and has all the original extras (there was a lot of extras) then that's a great price for it. Otherwise, you can pick up the game by itself for like $30.

But it's a fantastic RPG- definitely worth playing.

Thats my favorite RPG of all time. I recommend playing through Lunar 1 before hand to get the whole experience.

For reference I sold my copy (Full copy with all the goodies) last year for $90 roughly, so $60 is a good price.

So wait are you offering me a copy of Earthbound? If so what kind of condition we talking about? Because I would love to get my hands on a copy even if it is VC bound. My rpg addiction is getting the better of me as I am trying to get a copy of Breath of Fire 3 for PSP, Lunar and Earthbound.

I traded my copy of Secret of Mana for Earthbound and the guide that came with the game 7-8 years ago. I don't really regret it either, even if Secret of Mana is an awesome game

LOL My fault I get excited sometimes. So I take it playing Lunar 2 before I play the original is a bad thing? I honestly have not played the series but always wanted to and since I have been abusing the remote play feature on PSP I would like to tear thru chunks of Lunar before I sleep on the PSP.

The puppet was a pre-order item... why would that come with the game?

bump cause i'm bored.

P.S. anyone in Fort Wayne have a copy of Lunar for sale??? PS1,saturn, or Sega CD

The Lunar 1 and Lunar 2 remakes for PS1 are some of the most charming games I've ever played. I really fell in love with the characters and the world, and Lunar 2 probably has the best love story I've ever seen in a game. Although playing Lunar 1 first will add a little to Lunar 2 (I totally cried got something in my eye at one point) they very much separate stories and Lunar 2 is usually considered superior to the first.

If you like old school RPGs it is totally worth picking this up; if nothing else, you can just flip it to get most or all of the money back. It is pretty old school, though. Combat is very straightforward turn-based, the saving grace being that you can automate certain behaviors (i.e., one button press to have everyone attack that round) and bosses are scaled so level grinding is minimized.

You never know... my mom bought me this for my birthday back when it released, and despite not having pre-ordered, they gave her the puppet anyway. (Needless to say, I was very excited about that!)

everytime i start Lunar 1.. i always die in the first ice cave and I always forget to save.. one of these days i'm going to save before i go into the ice cave.. heh..

i have 2 copies of Lunar 2 (not complete.. but one of each "version") i have yet to play it though.

Anyone interested in my Sega CD Lunar 1 with the rarest CD art on it? (Disk 7) Ive had it since release, but since I never get my CD-X out and I have Lunar 1 and 2 on PSone, I figured I would trade or sell it. Last time I saw on Ebay it when for around $100 so I know there is still interest in it.

I have botht he ps1 games with full extras and i love both of them. If you get all the extras with it its a good deal. I paid i believe 39 or 49 for mine when it came out and it was totaly worth it then, so 59 would be a great price. If it doesnt have the extras then no. Thats too high for just the game alone. For almost the same price you could get marvel vs capcom 2 for the xbox. Also ive never really seen it go for that much without the extras anyway.

If you like old school rpgs though i think its a must have.

Jousley I would purchase your Sega CD version but only if you were going to sell me your CD-X also :) my Sega CD system won't even turn on anymore and I have a few games that are begging to be played for that system now.

I appreciate everyone's feedback as I will probably pick my stack of games I have on hold up next week including Lunar. As for the person mentioning Marvel vs. Capcom 2 for Xbox I have that game and as awesome as it was on the regular Xbox it is the exact opposite playing it on the 360 as the emulation makes it nearly unplayable.

I have both ps1 games, Lunar 1 was a great old school rpg. Never got to playing Lunar 2 though, its still sealed. Hopefully, I'll get back to it one day.

No, it's not that at all. You will simply be able to enjoy L2 so much more after having the events of Lunar 1 in your mind. The way L2 progresses will not leave you lost, however. There's just a few characters and references is all. If you play an RPG right (meaning you talk to everyone), you'll get the footnotes for part one anyway.
