M!NRD Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan 2 6/22: New Characters! Action Replay Code for importers!

Woo! my copy shipped out today :)

I guess it paid off pre-ordering with Play-Asia over a month ago. It was my first time pre-ordering from them as well.

At least preparing is better than nothing. I just hope it ships on or before release.

Damn I'm excited for this game.

Yeah. I've never been a big fan of Rhythm, and Ouendan was my first import since I was very worried about language barriers in imports. Ouendan definitely alleviated both of those fears (although of course I won't be stupid and import some JRPG).

I tried EBA and it just didn't hold the same charm for me... Ouendan is just a splendid game IMO.

i've been trying to get EBA for some time, no luck though, $20 price point just won't work :bomb: well at least the canadian dollar is high right now
I like Ouendan a LOT more than EBA, Ouendan certainly does have a special charm and atmosphere.
i really liked "Over the Distance" - Hitomi Yaida :applause:

Best song of the whole game for me.

How many times must anything about Ouendan or EBA fall into arguments for one being better than the other? Etc Etc OK we get it.

I'm sorry, I forgot about the part of this board where I wasn't allowed to say I enjoy one iteration of a game more than another for the sake of conversation.

From Playasia:

An initial shipment of Moero! Nekketsu Rhythm Damashii Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan 2 (which translates to Burn! Hot Blooded Rhythm Soul! Ouendan 2) has arrived today and about one third of all preorders are shipping out today.

We will have plenty of more copies in stock tomorrow, shipping at US$ 48.90 only. Just like any other Nintendo DS™ game, this title is region free and can be played on any common Nintendo DS™ (Lite) console.

While it's annoying that a game I preordered a month ago today isn't in the top one third of preorders, I guess the rest will be fulfilled tomorrow.

It's not about being able to express your opinion on the board, rather it's about this happening over and over again unnecessarily, whenever EBA or Ouendan are mentioned. There's already at least one thread dedicated entirely to the subject. No need to clutter other threads with more argument provocation, in my opinion.

Besides, I forgot the part of this board where I wasn't allowed to comment on another's post for the sake of conversation. We're all just expressing opinions, it seems.

I'm sorry you took it as an argumentative comment, but it definitely wasn't. I just like Ouendan more. In fact, I didn't even say Ouendan was better, I say I enjoyed its charm more. It'd be different I had just right out declared Ouendan the better version as flame bait.

I better stop now, lest I get this thread too cluttered!
From Ouendan, I personally liked Shanghai Honey and the horse racing song (forgot the name ;))
guts da ze? something like that at least, RSG and Melody are awesome too

Some interesting info went up on GameFAQs recently. A user by the name of Asho posted a link to a 2Chan thread. This discussion topic started with an Ouendan/EBA FAQ, and went into Ouendan 2 (Apparently, quite a few stores in Japan broke the release date). At the end of the FAQ, the user posted an Ouendan 2 song list, which seems to include the 3 remaining songs. If this topic is to be believed, then the only songs left to reveal are:
族 (Zoku) - Kishidan
Samurai Blue - ZZ - Youtube
COUNTDOWN - hyde - Youtube

But as Asho pointed out, these songs should still be under scrutiny since there's been no official confirmation.

As for the replies in the 2ch topic, they provide some interesting information about EBA features that are returning in this sequel:
-Easier to recover from mistakes
-Intro Skip
-Ghost Vs. (And I'm assuming that replay save is included with this)
-DS Download Play (Though not many details were given)

The topic also has quite a bit of fluff (Monkey Magic? Monkeys are cute!; Ouendan 3 should be a anime/tv show compilation!). Though, there's still something that bothers me... but I'll check it out later.

I love the song also

I wished they had some m-flo songs

how's the music for ouendan 2 compared to the first one?

... huh... wow. I checked into Play-Asia this morning, out of curiosity -- and it says my order's shipped.

And again, I only pre-ordered about a week back. So, those of you who pre-ordered it earlier should (hopefully) have had it shipped by now, too.

Mine shipped and I ordered just two weekends ago, so others shouldof had theirs shipped by now in this thread.

EDIT: Beat by Warg.
Shipped, wahoo!
Same. What shipping option did you choose? I just picked the basic Economy box.

Many people over at GameFAQs choose the ~$20 shipping, which baffles me as to why they'd do that.

Yeah, I chose the cheapest- economy box. The past times I've dealt with Playasia, I get orders in about a week. For example, I just ordered a NSMB DS pouch that shipped May 9, and I just got it today, a week later. I'm fine with a week for shipping, and since I'm already paying a pretty penny for a DS game, I'm not about to hike it to $70.

I noticed something on their site, though. They call the original game "Ouendan", while this new game has the full name. Why wouldn't they list the original as "Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan"? Just curious.

Same here. I went for the box shipping too.

real happy that the game has shipped but not so happy that 2 of the 3 candy fillers i ordered didn't ship along with it :bomb:

Yeah, I ordered an Animal Crossing figure as filler for $50 to get $5 off and it didn't ship. I doubt it'll ever ship since they don't usually get capsule toy things back, so I hope they give me a credit for it.
Many people over at GameFAQs choose the ~$20 shipping, which baffles me as to why they'd do that.
Yeah, that always baffled me also. Especially for console games that are like $65 to begin with.

I went the YesAsia route, which is still in "Preorder" status. Who knows how long it'll take (especially with YesAsia), but I'm patient and have plenty to play in the meanwhile.
It's worth $50 to a lot of people.

Seeing as how I get a lot more enjoyment out of my DS than my consoles these days, it's a no brainer. $15 isn't a very high price to pay to get a game months before anyone else can get the comparable US version, EBA 2.

True, but you still preordered, did you not?
True, but you still preordered, did you not?
Well, it's a lot easier to preorder when waiting a tad later will most likely save you $0.

$50 is expensive of course. But it's definitely worth it. As far as I'm concerned, Ouendan/EBA are the best reasons to own a DS. I mean I paid $50 for the first one, and I definitely don't regret that for a second. And this one has more songs, and all the improvments that were added for EBA as well(I would assume it would anyway). And I know I'll get more time out of this than almost any DS game that would cost $30 or so.

I checked play-asia today, and it says my order shipped on the 15th! So now I guess it's a race to finish Pokemon before Ouendan 2 gets here, because once it does I know every other game I have here will get ignored for quite some time.
True, but you still preordered, did you not?
yeppers :) i can't wait for it to get here, still processing my order though, oh well

I just picked up my copy from a local import store *cough japanvideogames.com cough*. It has the rumble feature from EBA. I have only played the first song on normal so I can't comment on the difficulty.

If anyone has question's I will try my best to answer them.

Jealous! :bomb:

This one takes everything that made EBA better than Ouendan in my book (skipping the intros, rumble feature) and adds it to Ouendan. Now it truly is a total music preferences, EBA vs. O2.

Ouendan 2 is pretty fantastic, I can't say I like the music as much as the first game but they have made a lot of little improvements that make it that much better.

It seems like they made the "spinners" easier to do, which is a definite plus for me.

I also went the Yesasia route. Preordered the game on May 13th, and yesterday the status changed from "PreOrder" to "Searching for Suppliers." Today, the status changed to "Ready to be Shipped." Now, the e-mail they sent me shortly after I placed the order said that it would be shipped next Monday, the 22nd, so I'm not sure if they're going to stick to their schedule or just ship it on the official release date.

I played through 4 songs last night. It's alright, basically has everything that separated EBA from Ouendan.* Song choice is still whatever. It's obviously not much of a sequel but more of an expansion. The one thing is that it looks like at some point you might be doing some dancing duels against some Fabio-esqe pretty boy, which could be pretty cool.

*Yes, that means it's easier than Ouendan, and it seems the spinners in this are even easier than the ones in EBA.
