M!NRD Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan 2 6/22: New Characters! Action Replay Code for importers!

I still haven't recieved mine yet, which means probably tomorrow since the mailman already came. Oh well not that it matters since I let my cousin borrow my DS a week and a half ago and he keeps forgetting to return it.

...Bastard better return it soon or I'm going to drive over to his house and slap him up.
I know I've read a lot of opinions that this game is too easy... yeah, I'm just not seeing it. I flew through the original Ouedan after finishing EBA. But this one... this one is giving me the kind of fight that EBA originally did. Some songs I'll get through on the first try, but others really mess me up.

In any case, I would say that this one is unquestionably the hardest one in the series so far.
I think that the difficulty depends on the person playing it. I've been playing Ouendan and EBA since the beginning of time, and because of that, I feel that Ouendan 2 was kinda easy. I think I'm quite good at the game.

Don't get me wrong though. Ouendan gameplay is priceless and absolute fun, and I love the soundtrack on this game more than the other ones. I did have trouble on more of the songs as the difficulty ramped up, but compared to Ouendan, I flew through this game fairly quickly.

Thankfully though, there is that new option where the enclosing circles disappear. That is absolutely hard, and I love it. :D

Great songs, with a similar difficulty, new options, and lots of improvements to the overall system, make this the absolute perfect Ouendan.

Now I have to work on getting S ranks.

Congrats to everyone who got their copies. Hope you guys are having as much fun as the rest of us, or more!

Mine shipped last Thursday, so I'm hoping it comes tomorrow.

I need something to pry me away from pokemon since I've already hit 120+ hours on that.
I'm jealous of the people who got their Play-Asia copies already.

they shipped my copy out last Tuesday, so hopefully I'll get it tomorrow. I'm sort of expecting to get it near the 10 day mark though.

I really want to see ZZ's "Samurai Blue" in action. Sounds like it would be a fun song to play.
i have it up on youtube. I put it in a thread.

I think I've almost beat easy mode. Loving it.

Edit: Damn.
The song with the three people on the red side of the river, right before you unlock the song where you need to touch the arrow, has like no rhythm. Or I can't seem to get into it.

i remember normal RSG messing me up everyday for about 3 weeks, i don't think i've ever felt so satisfied in finishing a song before though

Beat it on Normal Mode pretty quickly. Only had to retry a few of the songs at all (and I think a max of three tries was needed), made Bs or As on pretty much all of them. I dunno, I thought it was pretty easy, but I guess having EBA/Ouendan experience under my belt made the difference. One thing I will say is that I think the patterns are more creative and sometimes trickier.

Awesome, thanks. I really like that song and it seems to fit in the game really well.

Damn all you east coast CAG's who got your copies of the game already. Mine shipped last Tuesday and I haven't got it yet.

Does stuff from Play-Asia get to the East Coast faster then people who live in the West Coast?

When I mentioned the difficulty, I didn't mean this one was particularly that difficult, just compared to the other 2 it is harder. I mean, I still basically flew through the game, given that I haven't even had it for 48 hours yet and I'm already on the last song on hard(or whatever it's called... the one with Kai & the guy with the blue dreadlocks).
But for someone who had never played one of these before, Ouendan 2 would be harder to start with than either of the previous two.

One thing I'm very happy about is the use of beats on top of slides. They used it once in EBA, and you could just tell that was where they wanted to go next.

Once you get to the higher difficulties, as usual the game gets a lot more fun. The last two levels in particular are crazy, and while I was originally not sold on the last song, playing it on hard really makes it shine.

After giving the game a bit of time, I'm liking the soundtrack a lot better also. Believe is way better than Over the Distance and You're the Inspiration(and I liked both of those anyway). I definitely like at least half the songs in here, and more importantly, I don't dislike any of them.

Yes, those darn beats on top of slides caused me quite a bit of trouble in this game. Once I got used to them though, it just got more fun to play. :D

It came today! Whoo!

I actually had very little hope of it being there when I went to check the mail, but I was pleasantly surprised.

Ouendan 2 wallpapers at Nintendo's site.

I'm using the second one right now, m'self.

Original Ouendan wallpapers... in case someone wants them.

I've beat Easy, and an working on Medium. It's okay, but I can't wait to unlock hard. Then it'll get fun. I've unlocked the first bonus song, too. I like the bonus song mechanic.

Once I get throguh hard I might go back and try to A-rank everything- S is too hard for me :p. I think I only have 2 S's thus far.

Through medium now, on to hard...

If anyone knows of a place to, uh, obtain the music from this game (originals, not covers, and preferrably all in one swoop) I'd appreciate it.

I'm still working on the last song on hard. I can get through the first 3 sections easily now... but that last section is crazy. I love it though! :D

Also, I've unlocked all the bonus songs. Samurai Blue is definitely one of the best levels in the game. The song's good, the story is good, and the beat pattern is fun & tricky. I think that one, the werewolf level(I don't know the song's name), and Bambina(the bed-wetting kid level) are my favorites so far, but there are plenty of other good levels.

The weakest ones IMO are Pop Star(which is still ok) and the level with the giant robot fighting Meowzilla(which is a weird cameo anyway), mainly because I still don't really know what the beat of that song is(if it even has one) for the fast sections. I think I've only managed to make it through that one twice on hard so far, but then again that's also due to me not really playing that level very much.
Got mine today from YesAsia. Woohoo!!! Only 4 days since I ordered too, that's pretty nice for free shipping.
That's a new record from YesAsia in my opinion. :p

Also finally got mine today from Play-Asia but I won't be getting my DS back until tomorrow.

lucky guys >< i bet my copy is stuck in canadian customs

last time i bought rub rabbits off ebay, and it took a grand total of 4 weeks to get here, not to mention the parcel got gutted by customs

;)

Also, I just got the second bonus song. Woo.

Also unlocked the 2nd bonus song, and beat it on Hard, Normal, and Easy :)

But alas, I am stuck on the damn song where that little flamer pees in his pants. It seems like that song has given me trouble on all the difficulties I've played it on...

I just beat that on hard, I thought it was great. I had a few problems with the one where that crazy lady like falls in love and blogs about it or whatever the fuck it is, then I beat it and quit. I might see what's next in a bit.

She's writing a romance novel and apparently gets writer's block every 3 sentences.

I'm also having a bit of trouble with pee-boy on hard. Although, I've only unlocked the first bonus song.

Beat hard mode and unlocked the last bonus song. It was a bitch on normal, so I don't even want to try it on hard tonight. I'll save that and Insane mode for tomorrow.

I just got my copy today. According to the USPS tracking it was shipped from San Jose yesterday... to San Jose (where I live) today. I'm starting off with Easy mode because I know I won't be able to do it very well after Normal.

I've done the first four stages so far. I'm not digging the songs as much as the first Ouendan or EBA, but they're still alright, and it's still early. And I'm also finding the scenarios less obvious to understand this time, but that's probably just me.

I haven't checked it quite yet since its still downloading, but hopefully this is it. :D

I very much agree with you. The stories either have way more text than previous games, or they are just sooo crazy, that it makes it that much harder to figure out what's going on. Kinda makes me want to play more just to figure it out though.

I thought that too, and the same with the songs, but then I saw the Pottery Master again and was humming the song to that stage shortly after beating it. Only a matter of time before it owns me, body and soul.

And it didn't take long. ;)

I'm about six stages further in, and I love the music for the Haircut Guy, Oni Land, Pee-boy, and the Skater level. Oh, and Werewolf-boy. I almost became Pee-boy myself when I figured out what was going on in that stage.

I didn't understand until after the sumo guy holds up the dam, when the water monster is in his thoughts. I started laughing out land.

The only story that really confused me initially was the one with the old man, but then I read an explanation for it over at gamefaqs(it's a funny twist on a Japanese children's story).
It took a bit for the music to fell right for me as well. But after giving it some time, I like the songs in this one even better than the first one.

I beat hard today... and the girls' levels really are insane this time. I'm working on it, and I've finished about 5-6 songs on there so far, but I really don't want to even think about trying to get by Samurai Blue or the last two songs with the bar draining that fast.

I failed the first Insane song.

-_-

Samurai Blue was a bitch on hard. It'll suck on insane if I ever even reach it.

I unlocked insane today and passed the first two songs but man that final stage on hard really had me yelling out fuck! on several occasions, especially during the third part of the song :bomb:. I certainly don't look forward to it on insane

I'm currently one song away from the last two songs on hard, its that damn robot vs. cat song...

Also, I CANNOT beat the Christmas Tree bonus song, its a bitch indeed.

Samurai Blue is fun as hell, IMO, once you get the beat down.

I've got it down, but one miss and you're pretty much screwed if you can't correct yourself immediately.

Ahh, finally beat it!

I'm on the 2nd to last song right now (Countdown, I think its called), and I can get through it easy right until the very last part, just before the final spinner, I've reached that point at least 12 times, and I've managed to mess up there every time, even when I had full health. One time I was THREE BEATS away from getting to the spinner :bomb:

I must have played this song 40 times tonight trying to beat it. Even when I don't miss any or get an 50s, I still slowly lose my life until it's over. It's killing me.

It's not the the health bar issue with Countdown for me, its just that final end part, I cannot time it right for the life of me

Countdown is a tough one on hard, but you'll get it eventually. The end part is mostly hard because of beat markers on top of slides. They throw that at you because you need to be ready- the last song is filled with them, and they mix the pattern up a bunch of times to try to mess with you. :D

And yeah, I think Samurai Blue is my favorite level in the game. Several others are competing for that spot though. And actually, I kind of like Countdown- it's a much better song than Without a Fight in EBA at the least, and it's got a harder beat map as well- the only thing they really share is that they're both really fast and short.

I've got 2 S ranks on hard so far(the very first song, and the one with the sumo). I should have 3, but I was just a few points shy of an A rank I already have(this was on the second bonus song) so it didn't get saved as the top score. It's there in the top 3 if you look in options though of course, so does it count? Not to me it doesn't! :)

Hooray! I finally beat hard mode this morning. On normal, I thought the final 2 songs were easy compared to EBA and Ouendan 1. Because of this, I was expecting an easier ride on hard. Didn't happen, though. Countdown I got through relatively quickly, but the final song took 2 or 3 hours of replaying to get it, and I'd say it's the toughest hard mode final of all of them.

Just finished normal mode. I'm having a lot of fun with it, though nothing has challenged me yet. Hard mode should be great - Ouendan and EBA are the only games where it's a totally new experience playing on harder difficulties. My sister's liking it too; she doesn't play games but she picked it up and got through a good amount of stages.

YES! I actually beat Countdown, finally.

Too bad the last song is owning me, hard.

I can get to the last part, but by that time I only have about 1/4 of my health left, so it's basically a lost cause everytime.
