I hate hate HATE Going Under Ground on Hard Mode. The fucking song changes beats right in the middle. I damn near threw my DS on the ground after ailing it 7 times in a row.

Woo! Beat Hard Mode, and I've completed 4 songs on Insane.

I don't expect to ever finish Insane mode (on any of the three games for that matter), so I feel like I've accomplished my main goals for the game, now I just need to get to 50 million points so I can try out the "no circle" mode. I think I have about 38 million as of right now, so I'll have to beat a few more Insane songs to get to it.

That's nothing. I've failed Countdown on hard a total of 2-3 hundred times in a row now, I think. I've been working on it for 3 days.

How easy is it to understand this or the first one? I want to try EBA but abhor 90% of the songs in the game, I might have more fun with the Japanese one but am afraid I wont understand a single thing.
How easy is it to understand this or the first one? on a side note, i just got my copy today :) gonna bust it out and get to hard by the time i sleep

Edit: on second thought sleep is always nice, finished easy, unlocked 1st bonus song and halfway through normal, countdown is uber hard >

Ouendan is just as easy to understand as EBA is, for the most part.

I'm doing pretty good still. I'm getting near the end of the girls' levels now. And I have more Hard S ranks, on Pop Star, Glamorous Sky, and the level with the kidnapped singer and the old fangirls. I'm getting close on most of the rest of them also, and the only song on Hard I've never at least gotten perfect on is the last one.

My copy came in the mail today, put it in my DS (After applying the Hori screen protector I bought in April), and beat the Easy mode in less than 2 hours. Great songs, nice scenarios, and I especially enjoyed the final stage. Can't wait to get some of the bonus songs.

OK I take back what I said about Ouendan 2 being easier than Ouendan and EBA. The patterns and the beats are so much trickier this time around. I'm slowly wading my way through Samurai Blue on hard, but loving every minute of these cool tap patterns on Hard mode.
Still haven't bothered to play any more insane. I failed song 1 like 5 times.
I know what you mean, you just have to keep failing, so you can memorize where the beats will be.

On another note, I've had "Real Life, Real Heart" stuck in my head all day.
I know what you mean, you just have to keep failing, so you can memorize where the beats will be.
Yeah, failing 5 times on Insane is NOTHING. You have to be reeeeally dedicated to tackle that difficulty level. When you get to the end, you honestly have to be willing to spends hours on one song.

I'm aware. I've played the game before.

I have better things to do, however. I'm just working on hard scores.

I beat the last 2 stages on insane and beat blue samurai on insane with hidden circles  Hidden circles really isn't that bad especially with songs that you fail a lot of times haha

I'm about 17 million pts off from the final rank, so its pretty much required to play with the hidden circles to score high enough to reach the final rank.

I have been on Monkey Magic on Insane forever. The other songs on Insane so far have not given me much trouble, but this one is nuts.

finally made it to insane, stuck on the 4th song right now, gonna tackle it again being heading to sleep, Countdown on hard was brutal though, can't imagine insane :bomb:

After taking a break from it for a week, I finished it on medium yesterday. I do have to say that the music, for me, is quite a few notches below what's on Ouendan 1. A distinct lack of more rockin', guitar oriented songs.

I'm up to Countdown with the girls now. It's definitely going to take a bit of time to get by that one. I can usually get to the third section, but after that it goes downhill right away.

Also, hidden circles mode is basically unplayable IMO. It's not the fun kind of hard, just the annoying kind. I don't know, maybe I'll like it better if I give it some more time, but as it is I can't see ever finishing a song in that mode.

Have you played Okuru Kotoba?

Beat Hard mode last night. Actually made a few S-ranks, and I made perfects on every song (except that I'm working on doing the same for the very last song). Samurai Blue is probably my favorite to play. So groovy.

Just finished hard mode. Wow, that was tougher than I remembered EBA being, especially since I should already be good at this stuff. I'm going to take a little break, play some Chocobo Tales, then try to tackle Insane.

does anyone know at what point total you unlock "Samurai Blue"

my girlfriend is a couple songs into "Insane" mode right now and hasn't unlocked it yet

Nintendo updated the Official Website with three new wallpapers for download. The first has Suzuki and Saito petting the Cat, the second features Ippongi Ryuta, and the third has Saionji Hayato. Link

According to Sleepmix's site, 25 Million points.

I've been messing around on easy, trying to purposely fail to get the bad endings, and I found something I never would've otherwise.... if you fail on a song on easy(maybe just the easiest ones I don't know, the one I got it on was Bambina), Kai pops up and yells at you, then gives you some energy back and lets you keep going.

Also, does anyone here know what's going on in the bad ending of Vista? The best I could come up with is that since he doesn't make any money and doesn't get a store, he buys a blonde wig for... himself? his daughter? to be his new wife? I wasn't really clear on what was going on there, but the shoe salesman seemed happy at least.

The best bad ending has to be Glamorous Sky, because that was a perfect cameo and very funny.

Oh, thank you! I love Ouendan wallpaper, especially with Ippongi Ryuta.

Thanks

She had 27 million points a couple of songs into "Insane" but we didn't think to look at the lower difficulty levels. One click of "Normal" mode, showed us that "Samurai Blue" was unlocked.

Wow, "Believe" on Insane is a bitch, the delays in the beats makes your bar go down, even if you get all 300's and a couple of 100's...

I was just in the zone, too. I finished about 5 more Insane songs, all A's, I was simply on fire :)

...then Believe came...

I'll be looking...forward...to it :baby: :joystick:

EDIT: YES!! I finally reached 50 million points, which means I unlocked the "Hidden Circle Mode", woo! I just got and A on "Real Life, Real Heart" on Easy in the HC Mode, but once I tried Samurai Blue on Hard with HC Mode, I got my butt kicked, FAST.

Also, I only have 5 more songs until I beat Insane, I beat Believe a little while ago :)

Believe actually gave me more trouble on the last level than Samurai Blue did. I'm not sure why, but it might be because I play SB on Hard enough that I had the beat patterns memorized(and they didn't throw too much new in to trick you on that one). Also, Believe is evil, the bar drops faster than the beats can refill it, and because of that I don't believe it's possible to finish the song with more than one miss. I know one is possible because I've done it, though even then you barely pass.

Anyway, I finished Countdown tonight, so all I've got left is the last song with the girls, and then hidden circle mode if I decide to give it another chance. I guess I'll probably be forced to try to play with the hidden circles if I want that last rank, and I do, because I'm still around 25 million points away and I don't think the last song alone is going to do it. It's not like my scores are really low either, I have at least half the songs S ranked on Hard, and I've got a couple S ranks with the girls as well. I could definitely go back and get better scores on a lot of the songs on the hardest level, but again I don't think it'll be enough.

The last song doesn't seem too bad actually, at least once I got over the shock that they actually added more beat markers to the last song in the game somehow. I can consistantly make it to the third section(actually the first two are quite easy), and after just a few tries I'm almost finishing the third section as well. I'm sure that last section is going to be the problem, since that's what messed me up on Hard so much.

Still can't beat the first song on Insane... granted, I've only tried like 4 times before going back to Samurai Blue on hard. So fun to play over and over :p

Edit: finally got to the last song, keep screwing up on the very last section though ><

Edit edit: YEEEEEEEEEES BEAT IT O_O i must've played that stage 50 times, my hands were shaking as i did the last part, even at MAX bar i could barely make it through the last section

I'm at the set with Shounen Heart on Insane right now. Jesus, the difference between Hard and Insane is alot more crazier here than in Ouendan 1. It's harder too. I just went back to Ouendan 1 and owned RSG on Insane (finally beat Ouendan 1! w00t!), and noticed the circles are a hell of alot bigger than Ouendan 2's Insane circles.

Also, Sekai wa sore wo ai to yobundaze is full of epic win.

DEEENNNNSSSSHHHHHHHAAAAAAAA!

Got to Believe on insane last night. Tried it once, lost, and stopped since I was tired as hell.

I'll try it more tonight.

If I had Ouendan with me, I'd try and go beat Insane, but I don't. I'll do that once I get back home and have access to it.
Just ordered this from yesasia for $39.99 shipped. Got it in hopes of liking the music better than EBA.
as long as you aren't a J-pop hater you should be fine :)
as long as you aren't a J-pop hater you should be fine :)
a person can always use more j-pop.

Went back to Ouendan 1 on Insane and beat about 5 levels, without problem, though I'm getting owned by the last section of Shanghai Honey :whistle2:(

I S ranked Samurai Blue on Insane today. :D

Also, I'm still working on that last rank. I'm about 9 million points away now, and that's without the last song being finished. I'm still working on that too- I can usually make it to the last section now, but then I usually lose very quickly.

The last section of Shanghai Honey on Insane was one of the only things that really threw me on the first game. It's not really that difficult, but it takes a couple tries because the pattern there is very different from the one they give you on Hard(that, and the section with the two slides going in opposite directions is annoying).

Ah, beat Shanghai Honey, now on RSG :)

As for EBA, I am still (somehow) stuck on JJF on Sweatin' mode...I don't know why its giving me so much trouble.
I S ranked Samurai Blue on Insane today. :D
after about 20 tries just TRYING to beat it, i ended up with an S rank somehow, needless to say i was pretty happy :)

Beat Samurai Blue on insane. All I have left is the level with the 3 guys (forget the song name right now) and the final 2.

Woo!
