M!NRD Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan 2 6/22: New Characters! Action Replay Code for importers!
uhhhhhh..........i'm not so eager to mess with this just yet, btw by lost all his songs, do you mean ranks?
By the looks of it, that dude has to unlock the songs again, and his replays were intact.

I've tried it on several other original carts belonging to my friends. None had any problems.
hmm...........how much do AR's usually run for?
$20-$25, but it seems to be tough to find right now, at least until the new shipment comes in.

$20: Amazon.com, Best Buy, Circuit City, Buy.com
YMMV: Wal-Mart ($20-$22)
$25: GameStop

I keep unlocking stuff, but i don't know what it is. I unlocked two bonus songs so far, but other things "unlocked" as well.

Is there a list somewhere?

you probably just received higher ranks, when it does that scrolling thing and goes "ching!" with a number of points and japanese at the bottom

I finally got an S rank on an insane song...Pop Star.

It's probobly the easiest song, but it was an accomplishment for me.
am i the only person still playing this?
Nope.

But I still have yet to get to Insane. The beats were not with me today.
Nope.

But I still have yet to get to Insane. The beats were not with me today.
i'm just trying to S rank everything right now, 4 songs left on hard before i jump over to insane, gonna try and do AT LEAST 2 hidden circle S rank insane mode songs

I still play this game every day. At the moment I've only got the last two songs on Hard left to S rank, and about 7 or so left to S rank on Insane.

Also, I noticed this game has somehow made me even better at the original and EBA. I went back and finally S ranked Canned Heat on Sweatin' after trying to get that one for months.

I just got Ouendan 2 today in the mail. I have a question about the menus. Can anyone translate them? I liked how for Jump Ultimate stars they had full menu translations. Example: http://www.gamefaqs.com/portable/ds/file/933199/45856 - Search "Menu" and you will see.

Can anyone do something similar to this for me?

Also, you may want to add ncsxshop.com to your list of places to buy it. It was $45 for me and it came in 3 days after ordering. It comes from New York.
if you'd like i can do a translation of the hiragana and katakana, just don't ask me to translate kanji, still working on that
That's fine. I just want to be able to have the menus translated so if I want to play multiplayer with someone, or change settings, I know. Do you have the game cart to translate it? (I can probably take pictures of the menus and give it to you?)

Good luck with that. I've almost got it down for the last song, but I don't think I'm even close to getting an S on Countdown. Every time I end up with around 30 100's, when you need around half that to S rank it.

the last section of SSA keeps gimping me, i can hold out perfectly up until then ><

Edit: well i just spent a good hour trying to S rank Countdown, i SHOULD'VE gotten S rank, but for some reason 153 300's, 12 100's, and 4 50's does NOT count as S rank, and i just kinda gave up after another half hour of that, oh and get this, i was gripping the stylus so hard that it got bent >

Can anyone explain to me about how the rankings work, and how to get more 300's, 100's, etc and what those mean? My highest was C but this is the first time ive playing Ouendan or EBA. I must be doing something wrong.

Yep, with perfect timing you get a 300, if you're off just a bit you get 100, if you almost miss completely you get 50, and if you miss you get an X(and lose the combo multiplyer you had going).

The best rank you can get is S, which you get for having roughly 90% 300s and 10% 100s. You can also get maybe 1 or 2 50s at most, as long as you have enough 300s to make up for it.

The first time through one of these games you should expect mostly Bs & Cs. Replaying it to get higher ranks & better high scores is a big part of the game after all. :)

Yeah, the last section of SSA is ridiculous.

I just got the game used from a fellow CAG'er, is there anyway to reset the data? I'd like to start from the beginning and be able to set my own high scores, etc.

Never mind, I figured it out, by referring to the EBA manual :) If anyone actually wants to know, you hold down L+R+A+B+X+Y at the Nintendo logo screen.
Yeah, the last section of SSA is ridiculous.
manage to S countdown yet? i'm still pissed off from my previous attempt :bomb:

I have gotten a S on Countdown. It's just the last section of SSA I can't do well at all. I pretty much snapped my extendable stylus in half trying to do it perfectly.
I have gotten a S on Countdown. It's just the last section of SSA I can't do well at all. I pretty much snapped my extendable stylus in half trying to do it perfectly.
sounds about right, except my stylus is a tad more long and rigid, still using the phat after all, the last 2 chains of Countdown messes me up, where you have to about 16 in EXTREMELY quick succession

finally tested the EBA code on a cart, for the folks who need it for theirs feel free to contact me, I'm willing to set it up for those who need it.

I definitely got my $50 worth out of this game, especially when I compare it to other games I have that were $30 and don't get anywhere near this much play time.

Still no new S's here. I'm getting closer on Countdown now, I've gotten it down to around 20 100's, so a little more and I'll have it down. No closer on SSA, what always seems to happen is that I'll have a good run going, and then just miss one random beat somewhere in one of the middle sections.
The last section doesn't bother me anymore, I have it down, the trouble is just making it through without missing a random beat somewhere.

I'm sure I'll get it eventually, the last songs are always a pain to finish. Jumpin' Jack Flash on Sweatin' took me months to even get a perfect on, since I'd almost always miss one random beat in one of the last two sections.

I got an S on Countdown finally! Just that last song to finish before moving on to trying to S all the girls' songs(which honestly I doubt I'll ever do, I just prefer playing on the third level over the fourth one, on every game in this series).

congrats, i haven't been able to touch my ds in the past week just because full time school + 3 days work takes a good chunk of time >

I just picked this up a little while ago, and now I'm stuck. What the heck is the timing for "Music Hour" in hard mode? The weird off-beats are confusing me. (It's the stage with the middle aged fangirls saving the pop star)

In the first section of Music Hour? I didn't find it too hard... if you've played Elite Beat Agents, it's a similar idea to the opening of Canned Heat. You tap on the off beats.

Personally I thought that Music Hour's opening was a little weird on hard, being that it was very different(with less beats) than the same song on normal.

EDIT:
Tried it today just to see if I had any more advice, and I still had no trouble(got an S on my first try). Make sure you're using headphones, it'll help a lot. Also I found a couple videos on youtube that show the correct timing pretty well if that will help.

After playing a bit of some insane, I went back to hard and saw the Samurai song. I decided to give it a try, since it was only hard mode. DAMN, I kept missing 300s and just lost.

And is it me or does the insane blue team's levels have the gauge drop a lot faster than the red team? I couldn't get all circles on the blue levels, but easily did it on the red levels. These are early levels too(around Monkey Magic).

Anyone know if there is an unofficial Ouendan 2 OST floating around like there was Ouendan 1?
EBA is so much easier than Ouendan 2. I went back to play EBA again after finishing insane in Ouendan 2, and just aced it.
only issue i have with EBA is you can't skip the ending sections of the songs

Okay, I have a real copy of the game and not just a Rom of it. But I used the action replay code for the EBA mode and none of my saved data was lost and nothing seems weird with the game so I think if someone used it on a Rom version of it that it is likely to cause that problem. Or mabye could have been caused by an old version of action replay ds...

Have the real copy of the game as well, the only way to enable EBA mode in the US with action replay? :( Sucks...

Also, if right now I get The most B's, some C's and Some A's, is the only way to get better to practice, or do I just suck? :p Should I try EBA since it is easier and get good at that and then come back to Ouendan 2?
Edit: This is on the second game mode... The one after the one with one flame.
