Mac OS X 10.3 Panther DVD for $44

I guess there are CAMac users who don't care to spent the extra scrilla to get Tiger in two weeks ... but it's such a radical OS shift (relative to Jaguar v. Panther) that you really are getting what you pay for.

i want to upgrade to tiger. i hope i find a copy somewhere, cause i'm not paying what apple wants for it...i've only had my mac for about a month and the OS that it came with is already outdated.

Apple is making the update to Tiger pretty sweet for its very new Mac owners. Its revised update program entitles those who bought a new Mac on or after April 12 to upgrade to Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger for a scant $9.95.

Not bad when you consider that's half of what it charged last time for Panther. The qualifying Mac must be bought by July 9, and you have until July 22 to apply.

Don't qualify? (like most of us) , then dig in-- Preorders start at $95. Tiger's release date is April 29.

Happy gaming (and Mac-ing) ...:)

OS X 10.3 is hardly outdated.

Do you consider the NES outdated? I don't because I (and many others) still play it.

Outdated is < OS 9

Outdated is Windows 3.1
Apple student discount brings Tiger down to $69 for a full retail box with free shipping. Not bad...
I was just about to say that.

Also, does anyone forsee any possible bugs and other issues. Cause i was looking to get Tiger (dasboard !!) but alot of people are talking about waiting till the bugs are worked out.

Any major bugs will be fixed promptly, I'm sure. It has been in beta for several months, so it should be fine, especially if Apple wants to put it on all of their retail display computer (definately).
