Madcatz Street Fighter IV TE Sticks (360 + PS3) Available at Gamestop.com (SOLD OUT)

Can items bought online from GameStop be returned to a brick and mortar Gamestop if they are defective?

I returned my TE stick for a refund and the guy gave me a hard time because accessories are not supposed to be returned for a refund once they are opened. I got away with it but he mentioned he did this as a special case. You'll have to find the right person to do the return.

(PS - A co-worker ended up buying the same stick from the same Gamestop once I told him that I returned it. I wasn't thrilled with the stick IMHO)

the SE one works fine, seems mostly the original baatches had defect problems, I've been using mine for about 1 wk now I play SF 4 about 3 hrs per day! The buttons may not be Sanwa but they are way better compared to Hori's you can just lightly tap it and the attack inputs comes out

actually found one instore a few days ago...sadly my damn xbox got the 3 red lights just now, while playing sfiv!!!!! So i only got to spend a few hours on it but so far so good. Now i gotta wait for my coffin to come and wheel my elite away :(

I experienced the same issue with something else a while ago. I was pissed because the wording on the receipt does not imply what their actual policy is and told them they should change it to make it more clear. I ended up doing a return with a 10% off shopworn fee at a 2nd store. The first store I went to I dealt with a total dick who repeated over and over, sorry its yours then.

I can't stand that shit.

It's a bit expensive but worth it overall.

It's easy as hell to mod and should work well in the long run. I just hope the next XBox is backwards considering It's usb controllers but I'm not counting on it. The controller also works on PCs (the 360 version) so as long as you keep up with repairing it and what not in the long run it can be a very worthwhile investment for years to come.

I was able to finally jump on a :360: one. Thanks OP! I was actually home and on CAG for once for one of these!

I also just wanted to point out...the SAVER "Free shipping" actually still incurs a $5.99 handling charge. I said fuck it, and just went for the 2 day for $10 including the handling fee.

the SE one did not come with any seal when I opened it. So it's hard to tell if you put it together and everything looks perfect. They actually placed sealed outside of the cardboard flap when you guys bought this thing?

From the unboxing vid it doesn't seem there are any seals when you open up the TE box, can anyone confirm?

After you open up the cardboard flaps there are 2 of those clear circle plastic stickers holding the inside flap closed.

I was glad to see them back in stock for 360 b/c last time I ordered, It never shipped. But not it says I've already ordered one and there is a limit of 1 per account. Very weak.

PS3 Version is sold out so get the 360 version :joystick:

Errrr!! I was kinda leaning towards the PS3 version though. For some reason I feel like the PS3 is going to be the console for fighters. Plus I already own soul calibur 4 for the PS3 and not really any fighting games for the 360.

Looks like I got the last one. As soon as I placed my order in went OOS! I purchased a PS3 one two days ago hoping to trade for a XBox 360 version. Now, I think I will just sell the PS3 one. I didn't get charged the $5.99 handling charge and I used the SAVER code.

I just canceled my gamestop order and ordered from bestbuy had some reward certs I needed to use before they would expire and since i am premier silver I still got free shipping.

ouch before alot of people reported best buy takes them out of the box and ships them in a bag.

My GS order is shipped :) (it's for the PS3)

i used SAVER, but it's showing up as UPS 3 day select (i thought it's gonna take a week). The package is listed as 10 lbs.

What? Why would they do that. I have ordered alot of stuff from best buy and never seen anything like that.

Yeah, best buy shipped mine in a frickin' bag. I still need to call and complain about that. Ridiculous to say the least.

But it was in the original box right?

what? link? evidence? That would be a clear situation where I'd be filing a dispute with my credit card. I ordered from them as well as gamestop (as I had reward zone certificates too), and tried in vain to cancel my gamestop order...should I be canceling my best buy order now?

I think he means they put a bag around the retail box and ship it (meaning the retail box will be banged up when you receive it most likely) rather than putting that box inside another box for shipping, not that they pack the stick loose in a bag (which would just be insane).

Okay, that makes more sense, but is still shitty. I guess we'll see, as I couldn't cancel it as they processed and shipped today (figures, today is the day they're quick with that shit)...

Congratulations fellow Bay Area CAG member! :applause:

Mine shipped as well and it will also arrive at my doorstep on 06/09/2009, next Tuesday! :bouncy:

Upgrading from Madcatz Fightpad to Madcatz T.E Stick is a huge jump. Definitely going to enjoy the new stick for SF4, Raiden Fighter Aces and the upcoming Marvel Vs Capcom 2! WOO! \\:D/:whee:

Well I got mine today and that's exactly what bestbuy did. The freaking box was crushed. I buy stuff to collect and use. This is totally unacceptable.

Sorry z3razerviper. Mine came yesterday. I lucked out and received one in 'ok' shape. They shipped it in a brown box exactly the size of the tourney stick box. One corner of the box was dropped on and had minor ripple effect on the retail box's bottom corner.
One thing I did notice, the buttons are super sensative. I merely touched, not pressed, and it registered a punch. For now, I'm losing more matches online with the tourney stick than the control pad.

I just realized how much I suck at street fighter. I cant even throw a fireball with the stick. Guess i will have to relearn what I use to know years ago...

Has anyone tried switching the switch to LS and using it to navigate the XBOX Dashboard for me it does not work? Also when hooked to a PC windows only recognizes the joystick when set to DP. When using LS or RS basically windows does not see the X Y or Z axis rotations like it does on the ChunLi PS3 Pad. Note on the chunLi pad LS is XY axis RS is Z axis rotation and DP is point of view hat. On the TE stick only Point of view hat works.

Note I am using the XBOX TE Stick.

For fighting use the DP never use LS since it is super unresponsive . I only use LS when its an arcade game that dosent use the DP. To everyone you have to relearn the game with the fightstick it dosent matter how good you were before. It sucks but trust me once you know you can't ever go back to a controller.

I am doing this mostly for testing just to make sure the stick is ok and everything is working correctly. But it does kind of shock me LS does not work in the xbox dashboard. Strangely it does work in halo 3.....like i said I am just testing.

It's OoS now, so OP should update the thread...

i got my TE last week, it came in an outer box, so everything is pristine. I tested the TE stick, other than need to get use to it, it worked fine (duh). It's a beauty for those of us collect and play (i love the box).

Updated OP.

Just got my T.E 360 Stick 2 days ago and wow the design and appearance awesome!

The learning curve however is huge, it's like I can't pull off the moves fast enough like I could using the Fightpad ;( It will take months for me to adjust since this is the first fighting stick I ever owned ;O
