Ok, so I guess we'll have to wait until 12:00 AM tonight to get a review- It seems big ol' nasty EA has a review embargo going...

Until then, I'm curious about one thing. I found the transitions in Madden 06 to be annoying. While moving in and out of a play, animation would freeze for a second or two. Touchdown celebrations would seem to 'load' in. Does anyone know if this will be eliminated this year?
 
Not even a demo either... kinda shitty of EA to do this, it honestly makes me kind of nervous.

Scorch loves the game though, and that's good enough for me.
 
The one question I want answered is did they change how plays are picked? In the 360 version of Madden '06, you picked all plays with the A button, so anyone could see what you were about to do :/

They say Franchise mode is more beefed up, Controls are harder to master, CPU plays a tighter game dfense, the in game interface is confusing, crowds look better, better stadiums, still some choppy anis, play by play is far from perfect.

I'm pretty sure it's the same. Does anyone know if you can buy it tomorrow, or is that just the ship date?
 
If you want some input on it btw watch gamespot they have an live 8 hour marathon right now going on for madden all versions.

The game has been in stores for probably a week now, in their stock room... from my years of working various video game retail at different companies, Madden was ALWAYS sent early but it was ALWAYS street dated for the Tuesday it came out.

Every store is advertising it as on sale as soon as the door opens Tuesday morning (like Circuit City).
 
I was going to go pick it up tonight but since I worked overtime today and I have a long day of work ahead of me tomorrow I'll just get it when I get out of work.

Pretty sure a mom n pop shop had it for rent and he snagged it up.

I'm going to pick it up while Im working with my dad tomorrow. I wont get to play it 'till 5ish though...hope I can get some games going with you guys later :bouncy:
 
hmm, well the thing I can already tell I'm not gonna like is how small the gamebar is at the bottom with the score and times and such. I also really hate the way you pick your plays. The QB also moves too slow out of the pocket.
 
im sure my friend will drag me along tonight at midnight to pick up his copy...ill go just for the free hot dogs and sodas... i always prefer ncaa anyways but need to play a pro game.. just wanna check out the graphics.. im sure the gameplay will blow as usual

gamefly should get it here by friday...

I'm not a huge football fan but I haven't really played a football game since 2K5 and I was going to the midnight release for this at my local EB. But I think I can wait for some more reviews. So far it sounds alright IMO.

I hate this game and I hate myself for buying it. The game is terrible. Here is why I hate it
1 The create a player sucks. I don't like using sticks to create a player. Too much time and no one wants to create a player that is terrible.
2 I love the xbox maddens and the 360 maddens are just not the same. I understand that the progression of the game will happen, but it doesn't even smell like the same game. Maybe I hate change
3 I like to fully customize my roster. This means I like to change players stats if I think they are too low or high.
4 The mini games are terrible (40 dash, bench press, etc.).
5 I have tried to increase my superstars 40 dash about twice. The best that I did was 5.3. No fucking pro prospect h-back runs a 5.3 in the 40 dash.

The main reason why I hate the game is because I spent 60 bucks on a football game, in which, I had no fucking control in how wanted the game to be. VERY VERY LAME. The old Maddens I had control over who I wanted to be star and in this turd of game I have to settle for a h-back that runs a 5.3 40.

I just wanted to get the game at midnight, smart ass. Did not expect the game to be a pile of dung. 48/60 either way I was planning to get my moneys worth out the game, plus I used $80 trade in for the game.
 
A friend called me and asked if I wanted to go to EB. Peer pressue is a bad mofo. I went got my copy their was about 30 people in the store. I played it I like it again not a football fan. I played online and lost 28-16. I played superstar mode didn't care for it to much. Camera angle sucks. Over all IMO its like the old maddens.

You done? quit fucking bitching to us and return that shit at a walmart. Damn ain't that hard. I don't like football and I find the game to be enjoyable. But ranting to us don't fix anything.

Yeah, OXM said the Superstar Mode was pointless...which I always thought it was. THIS IS A FOOTBALL GAME...not a SIMS expansion. Supposedly the game is good based on a few reviews. The Challenge system is not great supposedly (based on OXM).
