Madden 08 (all versions) $9.99 Microcenter.com

Two Questions:

Is this available at the B&M w/o In-store pick-up?

If you choose "In-store" and the location has it in stock, do they allow for immediate pick up?

This is a good deal, but shipping is $5.99 (and there are no microcenters near me), which kills it for me. '09 will be out soon, which means I will be able to do my usual and score a copy of '08 locally for $10.
 
Being new here and just getting into the 'cheap' scene, when do you guys think the best time is to pick up a sports game? We all know they lose their value very quickly when compared to other games. Is 3 or 4 months after the release a good sweet spot? I just got MLB08 the Show for PS3 for 37.50 used, which I think is a good deal.

Just wondering what you guys thought.

Should be B&M....


If you choose in-store you will have to wait for a confirmation email stating that it is ready which they give a time frame up to 24 hours :(

It all depends on how much you care about accurate rosters. I tend to stay one year behind and get everything for $10 or less. It seems like I start seeing the first round of decent drops around 5-6 months after release and that's usually some early clearances to about half price.
 
Got a question about Madden 08...I just recently bought a PS3 and want a football game, but I remember reading about the PS3 runs at 30Fps while Xbox360 at 60FPS...is it REALLY noticable that it's only at 30 FPS or just a minor gripe?
 
Thanks OP. My buddy decided to move his 360 while playing the game. I now have a nice ring in the center of the game. Way to go MC. In store pick up FTW
 
I live less than 15 mins. from a MicroCenter. I have plans to head out there between now and tomorrow afternoon. Does anybody want me to see if the local MicroCenter (Mayfield Hts., OH) has any copies for a specific console?

It can't be that bad since it's not a FPS or Racing game which almost always need 60 FPS.....

I think the general feeling is 09 will be significantly better than 08 (although they say that every year). I think I'll wait until Dec to pick this up.

It makes big difference. The game "hiccups" after choosing a play and going to the on field action. I t feels rather cheap and weird. But if you need a cheap football fix, you can't beat $10 for this. The 360 version runs very smooth and deos not really suffer from this.
 
I'm off to pick mine up, about the fps. In a few reviews they said it wasn't noticeable, but it was notable. It didn't detract from the gameplay at all, on the ps3. Plus the average review for the ps3 was just below the 360, so it couldn't be that bad.
 
Never got an email confirmation of my order when I ordered Friday AM, but Madden 360 arrived today (Saturday) for me via FedEx Ground. It basically shipped "overnight".
 
I snagged Madden 08 for the DS for $10 at the Cleveland/Mayfield Hts., OH MicroCenter this afternoon. At this location, there appeared to be at least a couple copies of Madden 08 for each system. I wasn't paying attention for other systems, but I did see versions for the Wii and XBox 360 in the same area as the DS game. There was no signage in-store stating that Madden 08 was $9.99. The game rang up for that price at the register. Happy happy joy joy.
 
09 is the first game that's totally built for new gen systems. Go hunt down, like on Gametrailers, the new animation systems, such as footplacement. Amazing.

I'm waiting for 09. :)
