Great clip, sadly all their games are going to continue with this downward trend as they just care about having a product with a brand on it and could care less if its garbage.

What level do you guys/gals play this game on. I've always played EA's games on All-American or All-Pro. However this year is a different story, I'm 4-2 but I can't move the god damned ball. Both me and my buddy doing a chise have the worst two offenses in the league. I'm not sure if I should bump it down to pro, or make the quarters a little bit longer. What are you Madden players doing?
 
I played Madden 08 with my friend yesterday and wasn't too impressed. It still seems to be the "chuck and prey" game. I got quite a few achievements related to passing such as "didnt drop a pass all game." I think I only rushed 5 times a game or less. Every other time was shotgun and go deep. Even when he was set in the appropriate defense, he couldn't stop me. I got pretty luck because I picked off most of his "chuck and pray" passes. Doesn't seem any different than 07 to me except for the fact that certain players have icons now (which is kinda cool).

sounds like your friend just sucks at defense, play the CPU on all pro, then see what happens.

And Franky I play on all-pro, always have and always will. The game has been whooping my ass at first, I think I am like 3-5 now overall. Play the Texans, though, that will lift your moral right up, I think I beat them like 42-10. :)
 
The int havent been to bad and the fumbles seem to be going down but they need to patch that shit. The fumbles are ridiculous. O i dont know if anyone has tried playing against the saints but reggie bush is covered in oil or something
 
Does anyone play on All-Madden, I haven't seen anyone indicate that this whole time. My friends and I have always dominated CPU on All-Madden on PS2, didn't play 07 b/c it was the same as 06. Now it's my first time on 360 so it's harder but I can win and I just started to dominate the All-Pro level. I've hated Madden for a while now because 05-07 were exactly the same almost, but I'm actually legitimately happy with 08 for 360.
 
Why can't they include online league play options like they did way back on NFL 2K5 on the original Xbox? The game has been out for 3 years now on the 360 and they still can't include that option??? What a joke...
 
What seems to trigger fumbles when you guys play? I don't really juke a lot and have only seen a few fumbles a game when I played. Not that I doubt there is a screw up, but I just haven't really seen it.

Just use the slider to turn off Off-sides and walk over there. I got that one really easy.

Hmm, didn't think of that, but I just got it anyway with Ray Lewis against Buffalo. I just blitzed him every play and had 7 by the 3rd quarter. Thanks for the reply though!
 
The ease of interceptions in this game is ridiculous. How are you guys playing the game? With sliders or as is?

I've lowered some of the sliders, the are regularly set at 50, but i lowered like defense awareness down to 40, and I think catching or something like that, it helped some, but some of the bullshit INT's still happen. I think I will lower them to around 35 next time I get on.
 
My sound settings for turning off the announcing never sticks even after saving. It seems after I put the game in, all the settings load, but the damn announcer is still on.

BTW, how the hell do you get the 4 player deflections and 2 fumble recoveries by the same player achievements? The latter, especially, seems quite random. And the former, is there a position that's better to play as? I normally play MLB, but I can't switch and swat fast enough over. Usually my guys are too far from the receivers to get a hand on the ball.

No, I have the 360 version. Just not too happy with what I am hearing. Sounds like a few people are having gripes about it.
 
People always have gripes with madden. Guys you have to remember it isnt real football. They still have to make it fun granted their are things that sgould be fixed. It is the best next gen madden and close second to 04 or 05. Which ever one introduced defensive playmaker.

One thing I dont understand is why Ea is the only company that cant get online right in there games. It took them a couple months to patch BF2 and Ncaa sucks online as well. Madden isnt that laggy but it still has problems

I just got slaughtered online. He knew the game more than I did, seeing how he played 200+ games. Sheesh.

This game isn't fun for some odd reason. It's just nice to look at. Not a lot of things have "pumped me up".

I've been feeling the same way since the first 360 Madden title. For me, I guess it has lost some of it shine.

I've loved every Madden since I first bought my PS2 at launch. Then continued to love it when I switched over to the Xbox. Now, its just sad.
 
Backbreaker Preview. It's basically just a specialized routine for animating tackles that takes into account physics, muscle movement and "nerve controls for each muscle" as stated in the article.

Hopefully EA or 2K does end up licensing the technology instead of them making their own game. The animations look pretty amazing.

Since Backbreaker is not set to tap into Madden's competition, could this mean that NaturalMotion might attempt to one day license Euphoria to EA? "We've been talking to EA on and off, and I probably can't say too much about what we've been talking about. We like the guys at EA Tiburon, they're talented developers. Who knows what's going to happen, but right now, I can't talk about anything."

I've been playing Madden and I'm in my 3rd preseason game and the game all the sudden stops and the screen goes black. WTF! Is anyone else having this issue? All my other 360 games play just fine. Any suggestions on what to try?

Everytime I try playing the 3rd game I get to play maybe 5-10 minutes and the damn thing goes dark and the 360 will not respond. I can only turn the 360 off and restart it. I googled the problem and EA is saying to restart a new season but the folks that have tried it say it doesnt fix the problem. It must have something to do with the saved data from the Madden game.
 
Same thing happened to me in NCAA 08.

Diagnosis: you might be on your way to the RRoD. That's what happened to me after the game started locking up.
 
I want to enjoy Madden, I want to enjoy football games, but here is the issue. It seems when I play that Pro is simply just too easy to throw the deep ball and win, when I crank it up I can't even score. My issue is really with Defense, I have NO clue on what plays to call for defense or how to match things up or formations in general. I was a Hockey and Soccer guy growing up and never got into playing football but I do love the sport.

Help me learn how to call plays on defense or if there is a good site(s) to read up on calling defense vs. certain offense let me know. Also I guess I could use help on calling what plays or even recognizing defense, when I go to play people online they always look at my defense and they can guess my formation and then they exploit it. Argh help.

This is the rare occasion that I will openly admit to noobness. :)
