Madden 09 League-Congratulations Soodmeg!

I'll take the Arizona Cardinals, since my pathetic Lions are gone, I will take the almost as pathetic Cards.

I had a feeling that either the Raiders or the Texans would be last.
It'll probably be:
Carolina
Baltimore
Atlanta
St. Louis
Houston.

Just sayin.
Hopefully somebody actually picks those teams :D

haha I like how we have 32 votes but only 27 teams so far.

Anyway, once all is said and done and the game is released, how are we going to go about this? Follow the NFL schedule or play games as we can? I haven't been privy to any of the leagues on here yet. I'm excited for it though, even though I'll probably have my ass handed to me. ;oP

This game allows Flex scheduling, which means you can play games whenever. There is no week by week match ups. Ultimate Matt, if you want to take the Bills I don't have a problem being the Rams. Just trying to make this league full quick.

Why are there more people voting than people in the league? Plus, if we're gonna do trades and stuff, we need a live draft... otherwise teams like the Patriots will be at an extreme advantage.
I'm not sure if I can stomach the thought of being the Ravens, maybe I'll just hang around and see if I can fill in as an alternate.
I hear yah, but I have the Dolphins so it doesn't get much worse than that unless you get Atlanta. It's all for fun anyway. I'm expecting to lose.

CAG: The Truth 34
Xbox: Jericholic125
Team: Baltimore Ravens

I just sent in my coffin, though, so I may not be ready by release date. I will try my best, though.

Why would the Pats be at an advantage?

So each team will play their 16 game schedule, it just doesnt matter when you play them, and their will be a set date when you need to finish them by?

P.S.
The titans need a wide receiver. post if you have anyone to put on the trade block
Why would the Pats be at an advantage?
Players on Patriots roster with over 90 overall rating:
C Koppen 95
DT Wilfork 94
HB Maroney 90
LE Warren 90
LG Mankins 96
LT Light 95
QB Brady 99
RE Seymour 96
RG Neal 94
ROLB Thomas 95
SS Harrison 94
WR Moss 99
WR Welker 94

Players on 49ers roster with over 90 overall rating:
CB Clements 92
HB Gore 93
K Nedney 90
MLB Willis 96
P Lee 96

In a league where we'd be allowed to trade, the patriots would have more trade bait. The 49ers on the other hand, well let's just say I don't think anyone is going to be looking for the best punter in the league to trade. Now I wouldn't mind playing in a league like this, but I think it would be more fair to everyone else if we leveled the playing ground held a live draft, just to even the playing field for teams like the 49ers(I also think drafts are pretty exciting). And if we do trade, I think the league should have a vote on whether or not the trade goes through because I don't want some jackass that decides to drop out and passes all his good players onto his buddy or just if its a bad trade overall, i.e. WR Randy Moss for P Andy Lee.

Now if we do play with the teams actual rosters, I propose no trades because that would be unfair for the same reasons above.

I hope that answered your question. :)

Why would it be unfair that the Pats have more trade bait? Why would they want to trade their good players?

Joe Jurevicius of interest? hehe :) Noted side effect: Your locker room is infested with staph infection

They wouldn't want to trade their good players, but you'd have more of a chance trading for better players than I would because you have a bigger "stable."

The backups aren't 90's. I don't understand how its unfair?

My vote is to keep the rosters and no trades. The simpler the better. These things are always a clusterfuck trying to get through a season.
The backups aren't 90's. I don't understand how its unfair?
The Pats back-ups aren't 90(most of their starters are) but neither are most of the Niners' starters, and there lies the advantage. The pats have an advantage in the skills and quality of their players as well as the ability to trade for other high quality players. (i.e. Niners trade frank gore(94) for wes welker(94)...niners are left with Foster, pats are left with randy moss)
Basically, Its a given that certain teams are better than others in this game, it has to be that way to be realistic, but the player's skills come into play too. I know that someone using the 49ers can beat someone using the patriots..however switch the teams around and the guy using the patriots would destroy the guy using the niners. So what it comes down to is the only way to enter this with a leveled playing field is a fantasy draft, but the choice is up to the people. And the point of picking teams is well, u get to see the uniform of your liking being used. Ok, there's my 2 cents, good luck to everyone and I look forward to some good times.

I really do not care if we do either, even though I think if we do the fantasy draft it will be a lot more interesting. Either way I look forward to getting my butt kicked. =)

If anyone wants the Chargers that already have a team, I might want to trade (if the commish allows trading teams at this stage).

Hey, I'll take you up on that offer if it's allowed and if you want the Seahawks.
Anyone know if they are going to have a demo up prior to release?
I heard it should be on Aug 1st but im thinking thats to early for EA

How would it be too early when the NCAA demo came out a full month prior to release?

Demo is out on XBL on August 1st. If you can't wait till then, you can just buy the new NFL DVD that came out on Tuesday and the demo is included on there (360 only). I forgot the name of the DVD, but it is hosted by Chad Johnson and has highlights of the most exciting players in the NFL.

Hmm sounds interesting how much is it?

I don't understand why nobody is taking the Texans...
I know nobody really likes them (they're so new) but they have a shot of the playoffs if you play them right.
I understand the Falcons though :D

Well the Texans really have no running game, offensive line, true #2 WR, and only a few good defensive players (Williams, Okoye, Ryans, and D Rob who tore all his shit up).

Yeah, but with the right trades/free agency (if there is one), they can be solid.

No thanks, not really interested in them. Offer still stands for others (depends on your team of course).

Awesome I got the team I wanted now its time practice on 08 and think of some potential trades. ( pm me =P)

EDIT: I also want to know is the online season only one season therefore voiding the trade of draft picks?

This should be good! I vote for keeping teams as is with no trades...the simpler the better.

Oh yeah as for the Giants too bad we lost Shockey but he was too much of a cancer.

I always thought trades would be one of the coolest things about having an online league of NHL or Madden before it has been implemented correctly.

I vote keep the teams but trading permitted.

I'm liking the idea of trades as well. I'll start a short poll 1 or 2 days with that question after this poll which I made really long for some reason.

I was reading up on the leagues, and the Fantasy Draft is based solely on pre-ranking, so I really don't like that idea.

As for trades, you can not do multiple team or multiple person trades according to an interview I read.
