Madden 09 League-Congratulations Soodmeg!

alright, awesome..I'll take the Eagles. Pope, I'm free the rest of tonight and we can get a game going, although i'd rather play after the MNF game, but let me know

good game pope. It started out with 5 touchdowns in the first half and had 2 field in the second half. Dallas drove it down within the 10 with 20 seconds left before the eagles got lucky with a pick to end the game.
Final Score:
Eagles - 24
Cowboys - 17

ajh2298, We need to get our week 3 game going. Just send me a PM when you're ready, I should be good to go the rest of tonight or anytime tomorrow not 4-7pm PST,

hey ivanctorres, says I can't PM cause your inbox is too full.

but I'm ready though.

EDIT:
Seahawks (shinryuu) - 10
Giants (ivanctorres) - 17

Kinda've a defensive game throughout. It took me awhile to see what the Giants were doing so well, but I figured it out too late and couldn't get the last drive going. =p

Giants 17 Seahawks 10

GG Shinrryu

It was a defensive struggle throughout. The GMEN did not want to turn the ball over to give the Seahawks a chance and they did so by ending the game +3 on turnovers.

Seahawks get the ball and the captain on the GMEN, Antonio Pierce, Intercepts a ball in the middle of the field and takes it home for about a 15 yard scamper. GMEN 7 Seahawks 0

Seahawks get a field goal in the 1st quarter and make it 7-3.

Giants get the ball back after a punt via another Hasselback interception in the first half. Giants drive down the short field and Manning hits Toomer on a Fly pattern to the back of the endzone for 7.

Its 14-3 going into the half with the Giants getting the ball at kickoff. GMEN drive down the field into Seahawk territory and at about the 29 yard line Eli throws a bad pass to the flat which gets returned for a TD making it 14-10.

G-MEN get the ball and drive down to the Seahawk 24 yard line where they are stopped just short of a first down on a third down pass to Kevin Boss. Giants elect to go for the Field Goal and make a 41 yarder making it 17-10. Its Seahawk ball with a little under 3 minutes to go. Seahawks mount a drive that gets stunted at the giant 19 yard line after two straight 4th down passes are stopped by the Giant defensive backs.

Offensive stats were not great in this game but the gmen did outgain the Seahawks. The GMEN played the game very tight as we were confident that they couldn't score against us. I barely blitzed and sent as many guys into coverage which led to four ints. The game was really played close to the vest by the GMEN and their normally high flying offense took a back seat to the Giants stifling D.

MVP of the game was Antonio Pierce with two interceptions, one which was returned for a touchdown, 7 tackles and two tackles for loss.

Yeah, it was way too hard to pass with the WRs I had. I got some lucky catches in there.

The last play I called was actually a WR screen, but I put a guy in motion and noticed you were playing zone. Your CB pressed my WR on the weak side, so I thought he'd be one v one with the safety... then 3 DBs drop back on him. Doh. Maybe I should've went with the designed play.

I think on those two passes at the end you put a little too much air
Under the ball givig my guys a chance to converge.

Week 5

Arizona 7
Buffalo 20

Tought game for Arizona as Buffalo sacked and pressured Warner all game long. Another tough break is when Edwards threw an interception but the cornerback fumbled the ball which led to a buffalo fieldgoal. Marshwan Lynch is player of the game as he shredded the front seven of the Cardinals

Bills (20) vs Cardinals (7)

Defense was key in the first half for the Bills, limiting the high octane offense of the Cards to 2 yards passing and 32 yards rushing. The Bills were led to a 13 point lead behind RB Marshawn Lynch's 83 yards and a TD on 14 carries. The Cardinals lone score came on a 67 yard TD from QB Warner to his favorite target WR Anquan Boldin. Perhaps the turning point of the game came in the third quarter. With the Bills up 13-0 Edwards threw a costly pick that was meant for Robert Royal instead landed into the hands of Adrian Wilson. Wilson tried to run it back and ironically enough, Royal landed a punishing tackle that forced the ball loose and gave the Bills the ball back. They went on to score a TD and led by three scores.

I pm'd my opp. on sunday but no answer yet....just lettin u know

We could also get the dedicated owners from both leagues....would be chosen by azu n jagged....and start a REAL league, and then we can actually enjoy the experience.

just my 2 cents..

I posted this in the other league thread. I am available to take over a spot, though I would rather not join both leagues.

I am online 4-5 times a week, I suck, but play fair. As long as everyone else does, I don't mind taking a L.

Ok, FrankySox is out.
DanteMayCry, you want the Jaguars?

EDIT: Standings are almost updated.
They're done up to the NFC North I think...
If you only have 2 games done, expect to be booted tomorrow (unless your ajh or you joined recently)

I've been trying to get my week 3 and week 4 game going since I've gotten the Eagles, but I haven't heard from ajh2298 and soodmeg has been preoccupied the last 2 nights and I couldn't find him on xbox live. I'll get it done as soon as possible, but I'm also leaving tomorrow until monday, so hopefully I can get in some games tonight.

I will get my games in ASAP I have been crushed for time this week between work, two Penguins pre-season games, and my little boys first birthday parties I have been running around like crazy.

The Gift, your safe, because of all the games you played with the Seachickens, and your super legit :)
ajh and neworlbush your safe too.
Everybody else is gonna get it :)

Week 4
Broncos: 24
Chiefs: 3

good game sj41. I think the Chiefs were just overmatched. Cutler had a really good game too. And those 2 picks killed you. But you played well. Good luck the rest of the season.

Wait, what happened to Franky? We were trying to reschedule a game for this weekend. Did I just not get a notice about him dropping/being booted from the league?

I can play you anytime this weekend. Just gimme ur xbl name or just msg me on XBL @ djsay. Preferably I'm available all night to get this game in today.

Popemogoth and I have been in contact about our week 3 game. I have not heard from my week 4 or 5 opponents. I will PM them now. With Detroit, I had the same connection problems I had with you, Azu.

Sorry for the delayed response, but I was without internet access for about 5 days.

No problem.
I'm glad you responded, I REALLLY didn't want to boot you. For your Detroit matchup, I'm going to give the win to Itl, and then give you the next win, if thats allright.
Just like what you and I are doing.

Xpacdos and Hybrid, I can knock these all day Sunday. My Lions have a bye this week and our local game stinks so lets try to do it then.
Dallas 0 (1-2)
Cincinati 5 (3-1)
good game pope. really defensive
Wow, a field goal and a safety between two of the most explosive offenses in the game. Interesting..

Cin 5
@
Dal 0

Opening drive Dallas goes 3 and out. McBriar punts it off and Pacman Jones forces a fumble but is too rusty to remember to get up and scoop the ball up. Later in the 2nd Newman makes a huge momentum shifter interception. Then much later with with Cincy @ the Dallas 30 leading 3-0 Demarcus Ware comes up the left side and rattles up the play action pass to force palmer to throw an INT to Zach Thomas. The Dallas defense did their job all day but not for Pacman as my dumb ass called for a fair catch at the 4 yard line and the next play boom Safety. Next time I'll remember not to play leagues when I'm high, I make stupid descisions. lol GG Styler very fun matchup.

Yes.

XBL Name is MattNY

Great. Please start looking at the schedules in the second post and play your games. HOPEFULLY you can play at least one or two by the end of the weekend.

Titans (neworlbush25): 42
Vikings (Azumangaman: 14

Well played, the titans rushing and passing attack was pretty consistent, and the vikings lack of a good quarterback showed.
