Does anyone know the best way to get in touch with the Chargers?

If you see this, assuming we advance today I can play tonight or tomorrow, though after that it gets dicier for me since I'm going to be moving most of next week. Let me know when's good for you.
 
Not sure what's up with Venom. As I said, I was on last night, but he didn't show up till almost an hour after our agreed upon start time and I had other commitments. Then I got a message, supposedly from his friend who I also know (but on Venom's account) that said, "Good job no-showing". Also, venom is supposed to be out of town all weekend... so I don't know.

Yeah I sent him a message, he was mixed up thinking it started at 9, but I lurked your facebook thing and it was clearly set for 6 :) Shouldn't be a problem.

Nope no inconvenience at all we could do that Sunday night time.
 
Ramesu, any update on the status of your system? If it's going to be repaired before we advance, whenever that may be, I'll wait. Otherwise I will try to go easy on your CPU counterpart.
 
Microsoft has received the system and the repair is in progress...no idea about when they will finish and send it back, i hope within the week tho...slim chance
 
I haven't been able to get in contact with the Chargers yet. ubernes gave me his cell, but I don't really want to have to text him (though I will if it comes down to it). Can someone who knows him ask him to either stop by here or sign onto XBL and return my message? Thanks!

I would honestly just text him. That's always been the easiest and of course quickest way to reach him, and he wanted me to give it to you haha so it's not as weird as you're making it out to be. If I remember correctly you also had a small window to play so may be a good idea to use a speedy way to communicate.

I'm not saying it's weird persay.. Just that the league is run through CAG and is on XBL, two methods of communication to which every member of the league presumably has access. I just think it's not too much to ask to sign on XBL every once in a while and return a message.
 
I don't really think that makes any difference whatsoever. The fact is the context/venue of this league is CAG and XBL, both of which every one of us has access to. He knows he has a game, he knows I'm looking to play, it doesn't seem unreasonable to expect that he could take the time to arrange a game time with me through one of those means, I've been more than available.
 
Well you should know that this is a combination of two leagues. One completely unrelated to this forum. And yes, everyone should be signed in here still and be checking here, etc but come on. You're just making it more difficult than it needs to be. If you want to be stubborn and wait for him to return your xbl message, fine. I know he will. But you couldve texted him yesterday and saved yourself 24 hours of waiting for an answer too.

So in short: yes everyone can and will communicate through here or xbl, but if someone gives you a cell or an aim screenname don't be upset when you ignore that and have to wait a day for a response.

Edit: and I hope I don't sound like a jerk here. Not trying to. But yeah some ways of communication are just easier for some people. Xbl messages work fine but a 24-36 hour wait is not unusual for an answer.

I didn't know that actually, but it doesn't make any difference. It's not about being stubborn, but I was pretty clear up front that I didn't want to set up a game that way. I know this is my first season, but I've been pretty prompt about communicating with everyone I've had to play and haven't lagged behind on playing any games. From my perspective, I've done more than enough to arrange the game.

In response to your edit: I wasn't at all being impatient, just asking someone to let him know he's got a message from me.

So I'm back from my long weekend. Here's a quick update on where we're at:

Chargers vs Titans (setting up)
Packers vs Vikings (status?)
Cowboys vs Bears (anything from MasterAwesome yet?)
Pats vs Bengals (but AntiVenom never joined back up)

Then we have A LOT of vs CPU games yet to be played. Steelers, Giants, Ravens, Texans, Chiefs, Lions, Panthers (but Grand Chu never joined back up)
 
Let me know when you decide when we're advancing. I'm going to give Ramesu a chance to get his system back and play, but I want to be sure to play the CPU in a timely manner.

masterawesome is away this weekend we have a tentative 10 eastern game time tonight
 
Playing my game now (Steelers). I had a few internet problems this week - sorry

Alright just an update...I'm back in town but I have to attend a concert in about 20 minutes (7:30 eastern) for a class, so it looks like I'll be good to go for 10:00 tonight but I don't really know how long the concert will last. I highly doubt it'll take longer than 2 hours so hopefully we can go ahead and play at 10.

I think Venom will be home tomorrow, but I'm not 100% positive. He went to Baltimore (from Rhode Island) for a WWE pay per view that's going on in about a half hour.

As for the status of Packers/Vikings, Minnesota (Getawhale) has not been on XBL since Thursday.

What time zone are you in? I'm on Pacific time. I definitely cannot do 7 if you mean Eastern time, But I will be available by 6 Pacific/9 Eastern at the very latest, and then for the rest of the night after that.

EDIT: Never mind. I see that you are on Eastern time. So just let me know.
 
Chargers and I have been in touch. I told him I can play tonight if he can get back on, otherwise he said he was open all week and I suggested tomorrow at 10pm EST, so I would assume that's the latest the game would be played.

So with this game under way and it looks like Packers/Vikes will be played tomorrow. That leaves us with Pats/Bengals with Venom hopefully back tomorrow.

I would say we should have no problem advancing Tuesday night. So BigAT, I would assume you'll probably just have to play vs CPU this week. And then there's still 4 vs CPU games (Ravens, Lions, Chiefs, Texans) left, but we won't be waiting for those.
 
We're all done. Very fun game, I just got on a ridiculous run with Chris Johnson and he never let up (taking his first carry 55 yards to the house set the tone). Young went 8-for-8 as well.

That was the gameplan that was supposed to challenge BigAT, but my ball control offense was wasted without VY.

Yea i warned you on the mic that it was coming does madden not do audio over the speakers? I find onside kicks work best at low power
 
Hmmm I didn't hear anything from your mic all game. I've never messed with the settings or anything so I don't know why I didn't hear anything. I appreciate the heads up though. Yeah I think I've only seen one successful onside kick out of the hundred games I've played. I think I usually kick em pretty hard though.

MasterAwesome, the default setting is such that you do not hear voice through the TV, so that's why.

Azu, Venom just posted this on my Facebook:

"I'm planning on leaving at about 10 or 11 tomorrow so that'll put me home around 4 or 5, depending on traffic as well."

He's on Eastern time, like you.
 
If we're advancing Tuesday night.. Texans, can we try to get our game in during those first couple evenings? I'm moving all week, and especially next weekend I'll be quite busy, so just wanted to touch base with you early.

It turns out that I cannot play tonight. I'm sorry. Hopefully this isn't too short of notice. Can you play tomorrow? I can play at 7 Eastern guaranteed, possibly earlier, and anytime after that if you won't be around yet. I do apologize for any inconvenience.

If you cannot play tomorrow when I am available, then ubernes should be able to boot me and allow you to play the CPU, since it's my fault that we aren't playing tonight.

I'll PM this to you as well, and send a message on Live.

The CPU 49ers almost scored the first TD of the season. They had the ball on the 2 yard line, but an interception in the end zone (one of four) put an end to that.
 
Damnit!....I can't wait to get my Xbox back....havoc will be wreaked on each and every opponent cpu or otherwise...I can't take this
