Yeah, that first play out the gate... and lead to an INT. Then I had another drive where he had some good runs where he brushed off and bulldozed his way to some first downs... and that lead to another INT. haha, FOCK.

I actually tried to call a timeout before I snapped the ball on my last play. I think you knew it was a run, but I didn't want to audible, just wanted to call a different play after a TO. After awhile, I was like what the heck, it's Brandon Jacobs, let's dooo this-- 'doh!

Raiders lose a tight game with their division rivals the Chargers 21-14. This game was dominated by the Raiders offense which took to the skies since A.Peterson's brutal herniated disk has him out till the playoffs.
McNabb almost threw for 300 yards but had costly picks one which was returned for a TD; also the special teams was sloppy (fumbled punt return) both of these factors gave the Chargers all the daylight they needed to seal the victory.

I wanted to bring something up that no one has asked about yet which is trades. As everyone knows from my recap I no longer have AP which is a huge blow to my team. I'd sign a FA HB if they were available but due to the fantasy draft there is nothing to pick from.

One of the few admin tools that I do have is I can do roster moves as I like; which is helpful since we are passed the deadline. Like in pro sports, I'd like to have "wavier-wire trades" as my team needs a little boost to keep moving.

Does anyone have an issue with trades (pending any objections) since there are no decent FA's to sign?

I dont know what a waiver wire trade is, explain please.
 
Its when in sports its past the trade deadline but 2 teams really want to make a deal. Actually its a a technicality used in the MLB.

"When a claim is made, the claimed player's team can do one of three things: Simply withdraw the player's name, let the claiming team have him -- or attempt to negotiate a derivative trade with the claiming team." - Players can move in waver-wire deals by Tom Singer of MLB.com

Basically the other teams in the league are aware of the players being swapped and allow it to happen since you can't technically make a trade past the deadline in pro sports.

Reminds me of my week 7 game where I turned two picks in for TDs (along with a 3rd). Sometime in the first half, I knocked LT out cold for 4 weeks. Also won the game. I may be 2-5, but damn, that game in general felt good for me. :razz:
 
Well if we're going by waivers this RB would have to 'clear' to you. So say I put Ronnie Brown on waivers, the worst team in the league would have first shot on claiming him and then it would go up from there. I guess there's only so many user controlled teams in this league so it might not be that hard, but I just wanted to clarify the actual rule of waivers. Sort of weird that we're using this outside of the MLB though, haha.

I would be willing to throw up one of my RB, but I still don't think Ronnie will clear. (Assuming everyone is active in the thread and know that he's out there to be claimed).

edit: Also technically, whatever player you're trading to the other team would also have to clear waivers. That's why most of the time you see people deal prospects/minor leaguers because they don't need to. Obviously we can refine the rules a bit, but yeah.

ubernes's description of waivers is correct, but in our case I believe you are taking it far to literally. Again, I like the idea of open trading since I have no RB and with a true "waivers system" could take a while. I'm not against it for future seasons but the problem I see with our current franchise is there aren't any decent FA's to sign since all the BPA's are drafted leaving scrubs to sign.

I do think though with this "open trade" idea that the proposal be posted here to give everyone 48hours to comment why they don't think it should go through or the chance to pull off your own last minute trade.
 
Yeah, I would be more inclined to just say there's no trade deadline (well until playoffs) and all trades will be done through here and then in the game by add/drop. Calling it waivers just makes it more confusing.
 
Also teams normally put players on waivers to dump their contracts not as a primary means of trade. I'm in agreement though about no deadline till the playoffs. Posting the trades here will give other owners the chance to comment on a trade if they do not agree.
 
So with that all said, what's your interest in Morris or Deuce!? Haha. I would consider Ronnie, but it would have to be a great offer. You don't have the TE upgrade I'm looking for either, but maybe a CB.
 
Yeah, I am just for allowing trades just to be open and then closed at the beginning of the play offs. There are only 17 of us playing so it should make a huge deal and lets try not to be so realistic that we are loosing out on fun.

There hasnt even been a trade in this league (I dont think) so there is no reason coming up with some crazy system when a simpler one is already in place.

Seen, I would suggest just trying to trade for someones RB and leave it at that.

Whats really awesome from what I see is that the league will go multiple years if you want and it keeps records of who won the superbowls. pretty neat they would do this with the site.

Jackson Breaks NFL Record in 70-14 Win Over Phins.

"Look at him go, look....at.....him go," Those words said by Patriots play by play announcer Gil Santos as Steven Jackson ducked and weaved his way to breaking the NFL Rushing TD record previously set by Ernie Nevers of the Chicago Cardinals against the Chicago Bears on 28 November 1929. Nevers who scored all six of the Cards touchdowns that day would have been proud that it took 80 years for someone to top him.

"I didnt even realize until after the game," claimed Jackson in the post game interview. "It was like when someone is about to pitch a no hitter in baseball. No one said a word about it...I just happened to look up at the jumbotron and see my name."

Jackson name is something the Dolphins would like to forget, along with the record breaking 7 touchdowns Jackson also rushed for 269 yards, 27 yards short of Adrian Petersons single game Rushing Record. The Phins' tackling was woeful as Jackson piled up 120 yards after first hit.

Although this was Steven Jackson day it was much aided by the Pats league leading defense that had the Phins going 3 and out on virtually every drive. Culpepper completed 9 of 21 for 2 TD and 2 INT along with RB Ederrin James being constantly stuffed in the backfield rushing for a grand total of 9 yards. The only bright spot Miami was 2nd year WR Devin Thomas out of Michigan St who caught for 137 yards and both of Miamis touchdowns.

Lets see if the Pats can continue their high level of play for the rest of the season.

I just noticed Nedney was out for the season before my game this week. I think my backup is decent though, I haven't noticed any terrible kicks. Haha, no idea how it happened though.

Steelers-27 Broncos-24

I had the lead 7-24 going into the 4th quarter. Then they score a TD. Next drive I get intercepted for a TD.

Goes in OT and they just drive down the field for the field goal. Bah
 
Jeez...game against the Falcons was a bit insane and heart stopping. 1st half was pretty normal (other than it ending at 21-17), but the 2nd half...huge plays by both teams.

(WSH) 50 yard pass to Owens
(ATL) 72 yard pass to Nicks
(WSH) 77 yard run by Larry Johnson
(ATL) 85 yard pass to Jennings
Johnson also had another huge reception or run (forget which) where he was tackled inside the 5.

And with the exception of the Owens TD (end of the 1st half), all of those scores were made in the 3rd quarter alone. Everybody just forgot how to play defense. :razz:

Falcons also recovered two fumbles, although one of them was that fight for the fumble BS. Champ "The Champ" Bailey picked off Stafford (though Flacco threw one of his own). Recorded 4 sacks (all of them pretty brutal with a nice corner blitz sandwich.

The very end though, heart stoppers on both sides. Falcons ball, 4th and 1 somewhere around midfield. I manage to make the stop, but they pull out the chains. They missed it by a fucking bread crumb. Final drive though, I make it to the mid 30s and attempt the game winning FG. Holding brings it back. Do it again from 42 yards out. Managed to make it, but if I would've missed due to that penalty (and lost in OT), I would have been PO'd to say the least.
 
I got Disconnected From Live with less than a Minute left in 4th quarter up by a touchdown and I had the Ball needless to say i am not happy and will probably not play this weeks game again feel free to skip it when everyone else is done.

I think the score between pit and me was 17 Jags, 14 Chiefs. First half was full of offense, with long runs by B. Jacobs (Jags) and MJD (Chiefs). Then the second half was all defense and I don't think either of us scored in the second half. heh
