Madden 10 "The Replacements" The Ingural Season, completed!

EPIC WIN against BigAT's Cards.

I got some luck on my side. That 2pt conversion, I actually had an open lane if I followed the FB.. instead I go right and get a 4-man tackle that luckily pushed me forward rather than backwards. Then that FG was super close. I can't remember if it was short or just a little off to the right, but that was damn close. Then I threw that HB Rollout in OT and that was the end of that. Stiff arm'd that CB and ran like hell. It almost looked like I didnt break the plane at the end, but after the replay I think Jacobs stuck the ball beyond the pylon, and either way it was still going to be a W for me.

GAH that was fun.
Hey JStryke we have a game this week. We can link up anytime after 8 pm Fri-Sunday if possible. If that doesn't work for you throw out a time I'm flexible.

And yeah you got bit by the big play I looked at your stats and wondered how did this guy loose. Don't worry though I haven't really played in years and haven't been able to practice since my mom is visiting. But I guarantee one of us will get our first win!:D
I'm pretty much good whenever. Being unemployed at the moment, I'm also pretty flexible.

As for my game, that seems to have been happening a lot lately. And your disadvantage isn't really a disadvantage seeing how I haven't played madden (before this year) since 06 on the original xbox. If anything, this might be the only evenly matched game of the year. On paper at least.
0-1-1
I lol'd. I would like to think one of us could get an overtime win though. Hopefully me.

Well they did a fantasy draft so the roster are different. That is the reason why I wanted to join, I wanted to take over a team with a roster I didnt know and see if I can still win.

If you check the first post though, you can see what remaining teams have what as far as "star" players are concerned.

Wow, what the fuck is up with the roster? I choose the Pats and Warrick down is my 2nd WR? I have TE for FB? My DT are a LE, RE, OLB?

This is completely messed up....I hope that the other CPU teams dont have this problem because that will mess everything up. I had a CB playing 4 string TE.

In the OP, along with all the teams which I've listed at the bottom I mentioned that the Pats had a messed up roster and was not suggesting anyone take over...

Yeah the cpu drafted really poor. I have a LE playing DT and a corner playing FS. They are the best rated at the positions available. If we redraft after this season I will at least stick around until all my starters are drafted.

Oh sorry seen didnt even read the OP.

It wasnt complaining about who the CPU drafted just where they put them on the depth chart.

If someone is planning to give EA hell let me know; the web-thing is poorly implemented and everything is down too frequently regarding the online franchise mode.

Other then that, 16 people in the league for week 2. Lets get those games played so we can advance to week 3. Please communicate via pm and xbl with your opponent to schedule/play.

Easy win for the Pats over the Jets, 38 - 20 with the Jets getting a garbage time TD with 10 seconds left.

Pats had 3 sacks, 3 INT on Jake Delhomme.

Easy breezy.
Soodmeg, you would have to join my division... I like you and all, but I'd rather not lose 52-7.
 You can blame whoever picked the Titans because I was going to be them.

Really, quick is it illegal for me to have Dunn at WR? Like I said the game put him there and I didnt notice for some time. He actually has a 75 rating at WR which is better than his RB rating.

Either way is fine with me.

Hey. I'd like to get in on this. I fancy the Ravens (eventhough I'm a bengals fan). Looks like a pretty good squad. Thanks.

Raiders(seen) - 24
Chiefs(me) - 10

Turnovers were my downfall. I fumbled in the red zone on the opening drive, and he returned it for a TD. Then in the closing minutes of the first half when I should have just ran out the clock, I threw a stupid interception. He ended up scoring before the end of the half.

Good game, seen.

Good game pitfallharry219; as you said it was defense that was what kept me afloat this game. Our offenses played like they were even but the first fumble(I think you were in the red zone) set a defensive tone which ultimately gave me the edge.

Not a problem. I was looking through the games played and want to thank everyone who has already played their game. Below are the week 2 remaining games.

CAG's with games vs CPU

and me, I thought you could join a team online but you can't.. I need to do it when I get home.

I'll be switching fro the Bucs to the Bills.
So xxxplosive1 is holding us up; deja vu...If he does not respond within the next hour, does anyone object advancing to week 2 anyway? He joined the other day and I told him to play his game asap; he has not checked his xbl or cag for over 24 hours...
Sorry about that. My car was stolen Tuesday morning, and the lamp on my DLP went out Tuesday night. I have no other television to hook my 360 up to. I should replace the lamp within the next week. and I will try to take my HD to a friends house to play my games this weekend. If you need to sim my games go ahead but I am committed to the league. I was active in all my online sports leagues last year.

I'm sorry to hear that dude. Sounds like you are having a tough ass week. I can vouch for X, he played all of his games on time in last years college league.

Xxxplosive1 and I have chatted via pm; he will be staying with us but will miss week 2. Thanks again to everyone who have played their games. Hang in there Matt, based on the box score looks like a tough loss.

We completed our game. My Rams came out on top 31-14 over jstrykers skins. I got lucky on a couple of long passes and int's early. It's tough trying to get back into the groove with Madden jstryker but it will come. Good Game.

We just got our game in, and it wasn't pretty. I had trouble getting any offense going in the first half, which was made worse when he picked me off inside his 20 for a 13 yard INT return. Second half went a lot better for me, considering my offense finally picked up (although a bit late) and I only gave up 3 points (it was actually 10, but in the last quarter, I was just chucking the ball around hoping to make the score respectable when he got a pick return for another TD, which normally probably wouldn't have happened IMO).

Hopefully I can get a grasp on the passing game soon as that "seems" to be my biggest issue so far.

And yes, with the exception of some poor passes from me, it was a good game. Almost forgot though. In the one pass I made in the first quarter (I think it was the pick I mentioned), my guy all of a sudden took a left turn when he wasn't really supposed too. My jaw just dropped when he did that and I muttered to myself, "WTF was that".

Also, expect a press conference concerning Joe Flacco not too far from now.

The wrong turn by your WR was probably because he has a low "route running" or "awareness" stats. Boller about to upstage Flacco at QB?

Great work to everyone for playing their week 2 games! Thatdarkknight, we are waiting on you to play. I've already sent pm's today and he has logged on since and not responded to me. I will be advancing us to week 3 in a little over an hour unless there are any objections.

That would make sense. Not really sure who it was off hand though, so can't really check.

Press Conference

Looking a little distraught, Jim Zorn cleared his throat and tapped the microphone to test it. "I only have time for one question tonight seeing as we have a flight leaving tomorrow morning for Detroit. You, in the back. Introduce yourself and ask your question."

The reporter stood up from her chair. "This is Jessica Stryker reporting for JSN Radio. One could see from the game tonight that Joe Flacco could be to blame for your loss to the Rams. What would be the situation regarding his future playing time."

"At this time, it's a little too early to tell. his yardage is a little low for what we'd like it to be, but it's not awful. His biggest problem has been his accuracy. He's still growing at the position, and while I don't think I have to say it, six interceptions in two weeks is horrendous. As far as keeping him as the starter, we will be monitoring his progress. But to make a move this early in the season would be foolish considering our hopes of him becoming the QB of our future. If he continues down this road though, anything is possible and we'll make our move when we feel the time is right. This conference is now over.

We were wanting to reach Joe Flacco for his thoughts on his performance, but was unavailble for comment.

Terrell Owens met with reporters and had this to say. "You can point the finger at him and all this, but it's really unfair. It's really unfair man." Owens starts tearing up. "He's my teammate. He's my quarterback. You guys do that, and it's just unfair. Just unfair man. We lost as a team."

The media suspect that he only defended Flacco due to catching a 80 yard pass for a touchdown.

Great write-up JStryke, I'm sure myself and others may follow similar suit. I'm going to make a "press release" spoiler section in the OP for posts like this and others.

I only did it really to rip On Joe Flacco. But at this rate...

Sad thing is, I have nothing better. Kyle Boller and Rex "Gross"man. It was fun to mock the TO press conference from a couple years back from when he was in dallas though.

Eh, its the first season; you joined late and there are others in the same boat but season 2 when it comes will give you a fresh start.

I'm not really complaining. I just like to make it sound that way. But yeah, the fresh start would be nice, although when it comes to drafting defense, I'll be drafting blind.

I was wondering though, and I'm not sure I saw this anywhere. For free agents / trades, is there any restriction on that or are we able to do as we like? I saw the league settings were no CPU trading, but outside of that I mean.

I don't think you'd be drafting blind considering all the CPU did was draft the BPA(best player available) so you'd at least build your team the way you like to play.

FA's there isn't much since the CPU drafted via BPA, so you're welcome to pick at them; trades are allowed too.

Indeed. I had tough losses today in 2 of my 3 online franchises. I had played really well in week 1 in this league, but my week 2 game saw me throw a whopping 5 interceptions with Culpepper and lose 28-7.

Looking to avenge their loss in week 2, the Cardinals came out with a vengeance and dropped a beating on the unsuspecting Colts. Jason Campbell had a turn around game, throwing 2 TDs and, more importantly, no interceptions.

Asante Samuel continued his push for defensive player of the year honors, snatching an absurd three interceptions, two of which were returned for touchdowns. Samuel has now had an interception return for a touchdown in all three games to begin the season.

Final score: 45-7 Cards

Pats cruise to another victory. 35-3 over the Falcons and rookie QB Matt Stafford. Defensive is the name of the game as the Pats had 3 sacks and 15 tackles for losses. Josh Wilson also had a INT for a TD.

2 things really quick. 1, I just found out that there are no end of the year awards for online franchises (heard this on gamefaqs so who knows if its true) but I see this as a good thing as now we can actually get together and vote on who we think his the best and should get awards.

2. If anyone plays me, I am sorry for my roster...its so jacked up because of the CPU put so many people in random spots. So if you are playing the Pats and you see a FB at WR or a RB at TE on some plays I am not trying to do it on purpose, I spent 20 min trying to fix everything and just gave up.

Damn, didn't realize you advanced to week 3 already. Moonknight, I can play this afternoon/early evening Pacific time (I play a game in the other league at 3:30 or so) but after that, I'll be in LA all weekend and won't be able to play again until Monday.

The Early Season Report:

Its week 3 of the NFL season and now that the Veterans have gotten back into the grove and the Rookies have a some NFL experience under their belt, lets take look at who is hot and who is not.

Quarterback

Some unusual faces are sitting atop of the league, Titans QB Jay Cutler(Ivan Hood) has gotten of to a hot start throwing for 772 yards in just 3 games. Although leading the league in Passing his accuracy is 2nd class as he has thrown the same amount of INTs as he has TDs with 4.

Marc Bulger(Soodmeg) has thrown for over 700 yards so far with a league leading 9 TD and only 2 INT. He is currently on pace to hit 48 TDs this season with the high octane Pats passing game.

Familiar face Payton Manning(CPU) rounds out third spot delivering 642 yards 6 TD and only one interception.

Running Backs

Willie Parker(CPU) leads the league in rushing for the Packers just breaking 200 yards total last game. He also have 2 TD.

Pierre Thomas (CPU)is just under Parker with 197 yards with 2 touchdowns. Although it has taken Thomas 27 more attempts to reach the same stats has Parker.

5 year vet Steven Jackson(Soodmeg) has 179 yards over 3 games with 2 TD.

Wide Receiver

Joe Walsh (CPU), Marques Colston (Static) and Vincent Jackson are tied for receiving TD. Racking up, 241, 246, 261 yards receptively.

The Cards are the biggest surprise on the defensive side of the ball. Leading the league in both INT and Force Fumbles they show flashes of being the new 85' Team.

Yeah, sorry guys this could have been better but they dont list the stats in the right way. I would have had to go to each team and add up everything myself. So I quickly looked at the league leaders page.

Good game Seen. You probably could have scored 100 if you wanted. Thanks for the tips also. Being away from video games for a few years has set me back obviously. Hopefully I will get better with time.

I just got back from the movies. We can play now if you see this in time!

Three words TED GIN JR!!!!!!! This guys fumbles another routine kick off return in the 4th quarter. That completely changes the complexion of the game. Rams go down again in a tight one 17-14. Needless to say Ted Gin Jr has returned his last kickoff return in St. Louis!!!

The following games are left for week 3. Please get them played today.

I messaged xxxplosive1 back on...Friday I think it was and I haven't heard anything back from him yet. He also hasn't signed on xbox live since the 19th. My guess is, his problems he mentioned earlier are still going on / preventing him from getting on.
