Madden 10 "The Replacements" The Ingural Season, completed!

Thanks to everyone who has played their games. I will be advancing us to week 4 tomorrow afternoon/evening hopefully all games will be played before then.

Looks like the Eagles and the Chiefs had the highest scoring game in league history 58-35. I'm very curious to know how this played out, as the Chiefs looked to have controlled the game based on the stats excluding the final score of course.

Seen, can you wait till Tuesday morning to advance? As I notified you of, I was out of town all weekend but I can play the CPU on Monday.

It started off fine for me. I was up 7-0 after the opening drive, and forced him to punt on his first possession. I muffed the punt, which he returned for a TD. I marched back down the field and scored again. 14-7. He took the next kickoff back for a TD. 14-14 after one quarter.

Eagles' next drive, he broke a long run with LT for a 54 yd TD. 21-14. I drove back down and tied it up at 21. Eagles score on a 89 yd TD reception by Desean Jackson. 28-21, Eagles at the half.

After that, it was just me playing catch-up. He came out in the 2nd half and scored twice in a row, and it was pretty much over following that. Eagles couldn't really stop my passing attack, and my defense loved to give up big plays. That's the story of the game.

Ugh... I was out of town yesterday. I need someone to help me with the rules just a bit. I am pretty sure my week 3 game was against the cpu. When Seen advances the week, it will simulate the game, right? I'm not real sure how it works. If there is an FAQ I should look at, please let me know.

Also; I don't know if this is a problem I should have asked about prior to but... probably every other weekend or so I will be out of town to visit my girlfriend. My question is, do I just need to schedule the game, and play it (sometime during that week) before Seen advances the week. If so; I should be good.

Finally; if someone had to play the CPU because of me yesterday, I'm sorry. I am definately looking forward to playing in this league. Now I just hope I didn't lose my week 3 game putting me at 0-3.

I know you said you were out of town, I hope you will have free time to get your game in this evening before I advance. Jughead, your game is vs the CPU.

Thanks for the recap pitfallyharry219; in the other Madden league as the Pats I lost in a similar fashion as a kickoff td return can totally mess-up the feel and control of the game.

No response. What time are you advancing the schedule?

I was wanting to advance us yesterday, but would like all reminaing games to be played if possible. Week 4 should begin late this evening if all games are completed, or tomorrow regardless of the games left.

Crap, I forgot I play moonknight and not the CPU. I did post in this thread saying I wouldn't be available over the weekend, so hopefully I can reach him today. I'll PM him now.

I never did hear back from xxxplosive either. I "think" dinner might be ready an hour or so from now, so I'll go ahead and play the cpu then sometime after that (no later than 9 or 10)

I got your pm Matt, ill be online between 8pm and 930pm eastern time

Sounds good. Turns out dinner wasn't being made so I'm gonna go ahead and do that now (getting hungry). But after that, pretty much available whenever. How does 9 EST sound?

thanks for postponing the week advance. I got my game against the cpu in today. It was a win. 16-6 over the browns. Thanks again.

I am ready whenever man. Soccer season starts tomorrow so the earliest I can even get home is 5pm if we dont have a game. If Seen advance the week tommorrow morning lets shoot for 7:30 est tomorrow night. That should give us both enough time to eat and chill or whatever.

That was a good game there for about 3 quarters. Somewhere down the line, you were able to break through with Addai (not sure where that came from) in the 3rd, and Mrs Flacco was good for YET another interception for a touchdown. Puts him to 9 INTs for the year and only 101 yards to show. The kicker, his 11.3 passing rating.

Larry Johnson had a decent game though for 98 rushing yards.

Plus, with the exception of that 81 yard breakthrough, I did hold you to about 60 yards of total offense.

At least I'm getting better though. Only gave up two big plays this time. That's a season high for me.

yea what a game. his offense was on point my defense couldn't contain on the 3ed and long just couldn't stop it. but my special teams really stepped up to give me the lead and eventiually the lead good game man.

Yeah that was a good game. My offense blows. Sanchez is not a good QB and I have no real weapons on offense besides Addai. My Defense is damn good even though Johnson broke tons of tackles. One on one, my defenders had no chance.

Can we sign free agents or is trades the only way to improve my roster?
I don't think you'd be drafting blind considering all the CPU did was draft the BPA(best player available) so you'd at least build your team the way you like to play.

FA's there isn't much since the CPU drafted via BPA, so you're welcome to pick at them; trades are allowed too.
Yeah, I checked your roster before the game and your offense didn't seem all that scary outside of addai. Regardless, Flacco was the only offense you needed.

Also, I hear the Vegas bidding for Flacco's performance for next week is over/under 3 interceptions. Any takers?

I have to work in a few seen, so you can let Matt play the cpu or you can sim the game. Our schedules this past weekend and yesterday didn't mesh.

We've advanced to week 4, lets get those games played! Also if your opponent is not the CPU, please contact your opponent to set something up.

He's going to run circles around Asante Samuel (INT league leader with 6) and give other teams DB's a chance to get some picks.

BigAT, static puff & thatdarkknight all have the week off.

I can play any time today after 3:30 Eastern, shinryuu. Let me know if there is a good time for you, or just send me a message if you see me on Live.
Matt Young, if you are still up, we can play our madden game in the next hour. Its 1am eastern time here...
I had already gone to watch a movie since you said you'd only be available at a certain time, and I got the message after that time.

Sounds goodish. I might have to wait until around 8. My girlfriends first day of grad school is today and she has already planned to talk my ear off. Regardless; I will pop on at 7:30 and get in touch with you in the owner's section on XBL.

looks like i'm all set to be the doormat of the nfl this season. fortunately, my division is all cpu. I might be able to make the playoffs.... maybe.

Pats Remain Undefeated, Take out Ravens!

Offense wins games, defense wins championships but in the case of the New England Patriots its hard to tell the difference. Lets start on the offensive side of the ball where Pats QB Marc Bulger became the 35th QB in NFL history to get a Perfect Passer Rating of 158.3 completing 14/14 for 187 yards and 2 Touchdowns as well as running one in from the 1 yard line in the 42-7 win over the Ravens. During the post game press conference Bulger had this to say on his record setting day, "I was just feeling it today. I didnt do anything differently in warm ups or in practice. It was just one of those days where I couldnt miss." But it doesnt stop there as Running Back Steven Jackson hit the century mark piling in 102 yards and 2 Touchdowns.

Dont let the offensive success over shadow the Pats defense who laid waist to Ravens QB Chad Pennington. "I dont think there was a single play where Chad didnt end up on his back," defensive captain Will Witherspoon who had a "Pick Six," in the 3rd Qrt. The heat proved successful has Chad threw 4 INT to the hungry Pats defense. One of which to 6' 2" 337 pound LE B.J. Raji who returned it 30 yards before being tackled from behind. "I was laughing so hard I almost fell of the bench," Bulger mentioned jokingly.

Key Stats.

Marc Bulger 14/14 187 Yards 2 TD
Chad Pennington 12/22 154 Yards 1 TD 4 INT

Steven Jackson 102 Yards 2 TD
John Stewart 3 Yards

Randy Moss 2 Catches 27 Yards
TJ Houshmandzadeh 1 Catch 16 Yards

I didn't think I needed to respond you said you had to play a game and would invite me after it was done. I said I was going to be available from 7-30 PM to 10 PMEST time.

I have you beat there. I'm challenging the 2008 Lions record for worst season ever.

Great job CAG's we've almost completed week 4 already!

Games left:

Matt Young vs Galego23
myself vs CPU
JStryke vs CPU
whitlecj vs CPU
moonknight25 vs CPU
gg Ivan Hood, lots of turnovers on both sides.

and Brandon Jacobs still can't be stopped...
Good game. I couldn't believe my first two possessions ended in fumbles by Brian Westbrook and Marion Barber. I was still in it at half-time, but I just couldn't get any offense together or stop you after that.

Also, Brandon Jacobs is ridiculous. Nicely played.

I just beat those damn steelers...josh freeman had a decent game...200+ yards a few tds. We held Matt Cassel to only 3 points, so pretty good d from the SAN...DIEGO....SUPER CHARGERS !

I had told matt I was not available for tonight and only last night.

He never sent me an invite because I never responded to his PM apparently. If this needs to be advanced so be it but I won't be able to play at all today.

Once again, soccer season has started so I will be unable to play until at least 6 pm EST on non game days. Its hard to say on game days beacuse we might go into extra time or something. None the less I will get on everyday at around 7:30. If anyone needs to play me please try for 7:30 pm EST first if you cant make it then pm me for another time.

Shutout by The Bay
By M.A. Cuff

Amid growing offensive concerns the St. Louis Rams put up an impressive effort in a 28-0 on the road in the rain against the hapless 49ers. Though there wasn't much offense on either side there were big plays and they were made by the Rams. As usual the Rams defense led the way with the first a quarter sack and Fumble return for 23 yards and a TD by R Geathers. Geathers, a rising star at the end position stated "Coach said this is our kind of game, this is the kind of game we need to win. Get out there and get pressure on the QB and stick to your assignments and good things will happen". And good things did happen with only 19 yards on the ground Trent Edwards was forced to go to the air and that cost the 49ers. "There was no balance, no flow for us" coach Singletary lamented "And on top of that Trent was G** Danm under siege!!!!" Edwards was sacked 5 times and at least twice as many times hit. Trent Edwards silhouette is a new on field advertisement. "It was like they had 15 guys out there" stated Edwards. If Edwards isn't going to be protected any better than this the Alex Smith error (not a mistake) will come quick to San Francisco. In the Fourth to cap off the game rookie S.Smith returned an interception for 50 yards and a score. This is the rookies 4th int and third return for a touchdown(incredibly both are second to Asante Samuels 6 ints and 4 touchdowns). The rookie is really taking to his move from corner to FS. "I get little more freedom back there and a lot more responsibility but I'm learning from the vets and trying not to get a big head I've got a long way to go" stated Smith. Well the rooks come a long way since camp and if he continues to play like this a Defensive Rookie of the Year trophy might be in his future.

On offense the Rams were well…. not good actually, Tom Brady is still in the mother of all slumps and the passing game is non existent. The lone bright spot was the 50 yard TD run by Matt forte who powered up the middle broke tackles and had a race with teammate Brandon Marshall into the endzone. “Yeah that was a good run” M4 stated but we still have a long way to go on this side of the ball. The one coaching decision that paid dividends immediately was the move of Reggie Bush to be the primary kick and punt returner. The pay off was a 67 punt return for a touchdown and no fumbles in the pouring rain. Bush looked like a goal line back shaking off tackles and breaking to the outside where few in the NFL can catch him from behind. "there’s a lot of homerun hitters on this offense but we have to start helping the defense a lot more and we have the weapons to do it" stated coach Spagnuolo we need sustained drives and good sound offense. I expect alot of good hard practices this week this is unacceptable!". That was from the winning coach I'll leave you with the coach Singletary’s final comment when asked what could have gotten these guys up to play better against the Rams today? "I don't think Jessica Alba running through the showers naked could have got these guys up today!" Viva Viagra coach Viva Viagra!
