Jets now in the drivers seat for the AFC East at 5-6. I guess it's time for me to pack it in. :D

Edit: Actually, now that I look at the standings, the Patriots still do control their own destiny. If both teams won out to finish 10-6, they'd have split the head to head, have identical division records, and the Patriots would get in on conference records. Still, the way this season has gone, I don't think either of us winning out is especially likely.

It's division or bust now though, since the loss to the Steelers basically removes the Patriots from the WC discussion.
Steelers beat the Patriots because Zurezo can hammer the strip button line nobody's business I guess. Two ridiculous fumbles in situations where Gronk was practically on the turf, and that's all she wrote. It's pretty obnoxious to lose that way, but there you have it.

Edit: Just to clarify, I'm not saying there's anything wrong with him doing that. It seems to work for him, so by all means. It just feels crappy to move the ball successfully all game, not throw a single pick, and then only lose because of strips.
lol he aint the only one that does it.... i try but never seems to work for me
lol he aint the only one that does it.... i try but never seems to work for me
I try it from time to time if I've got a guy held up. I never have any luck with it either, and more often than not the guy ends up slipping away, so I typically just try to wrap it up.
Did anyone give Cru the new password? We're scheduled to play at 6:30 (he isn't on yet) and it is showing that they are CPU owned.
I don't know. I haven't given it to him though, and we're not posting it in the thread anymore.

Not to cause shit, but it appears playing the CPU for the bills will matter in terms of wild card.

Not to throw that shit back at you, but what the hell are you talking about? It actually matters significantly less now than it did when it came up. All three AFC East teams are pretty much out of the Wild Card discussion, as they're now at least 2 games behind 3 different teams (none of whom play the Bills).

Edit: The only conceivable scenario where it would matter would be if the Steelers utterly collapsed down the stretch, and the Raiders did as well. That scenario would also require at least 2 of the AFC East teams to win out. It's just the longest of long shots.

Fantastic. I had to shift a lot of stuff around to play this game at a time that worked for him (again). If he doesn't show and/or doesn't know how to join I'm going to be pissed. :hot:

Well I thought you said both the jets and pats have to possibility to finish 10-6, and with out looking at the standings I thought that seemed good enough for a wild card. My apologies if I'm completely wrong.

Do you have the password? Presumably you could just send him a message on XBL with it when he gets on.

If you don't have it, I'll send it to you.

No I don't. If you want to PM it to me that would be great, but I can only wait around for another 10 or 15 minutes.

See my edit. It's not inconceivable that it could happen, but it would require the Steelers collapsing and the Raiders underperforming as well, as well as 2 of 3 AFC East teams winning every remaining game (which is a longshot in itself given how inconsistent we've all been). Last year both AFC WC teams were 12-4. It's a huge longshot.

A lot of close games this week. Steelers now take over the sixth seed with that win. And don't sleep on the Chargers who are now 5-6. They play the 6-5 Raiders next week.

Most anticipated game is definitely the Texans-Titans match. Interested to see who wins that one.

Back-to-back down weeks by Cobie Ross (one by the CPU, one by me) have opened the window in the Offensive Rookie of the Year race a crack. Ross is still firmly in the driver's seat in my opinion, but if he doesn't right the ship some guys could be knocking on his heels.

Well Kilgo didn't have a catch this week so you're safe on that front.

Jamie Brooks or Dallas Strong are probably the biggest threats since they're closer in TDs to Ross. I suppose one of the QBs could get hot too, but none of them has a very strong case right now.

When you have the #1 run defense and one guy singlehandly drops you 10-15 spots something is wrong with the way they are playing. Cru will win this game and the division. Have fun with him the playoffs.

Not much to say. 49ers ran for 270 yards using two or three plays and passed for 172, sacked me 5 times and picked up 4 picks.

I was able to pass for 400 yards so that is a plus I guess. I heart Burress, but am out of the playoffs at this point.

whatever.

Unless I'm looking at the standings wrong, the 2nd wild card spot is still yours for the taking.

Yikes, his overall took a nose dive in the LB depth chart but can't beat that speed (91). I'll likely use him as end depth and work him in at LB sometimes. Could be fun to user haha.

Yeah, that's gonna happen to a few of these guys I think.

Guys, please try to resist the temptation to sign and release a ton of guys to check what their overall ratings are in the depth chart. None of these players are world beaters at this point, so let's just sign someone and move on.
I heart Burress
Good to hear he's doing well for you. Tate was my go-to guy vs the Redskins and did pretty well. That guard kept getting run over but it actually opened up holes on his side since he took his defender with him to the ground on most plays haha.
Colts take Igor Olshansky RE #99
Who did you drop?
Colts also sign Kentwan Balmer DT 74 OVR
No they don't. This isn't a free-for-all, read the rules.

I really liked Tate, Burress is the man though, no one can press him!

I did notice that Cru and I use the same book, I'm going to borrow his run formation, it is unstoppable.

BV - That's nice. More of a rage write up, I could go on but I've promised myself to stop bitching in the thread.

Good luck with that, I've made myself the same promise a dozen times over the years.
Seahawks hold the sixth spot at the moment, definitely not out of the race at this point.
Read the above. I've still got a rough schedule. These mid seasons slumps can suck it...two years in a row!
How many players can we sign, i need to work on one more piece.
You can only sign one FA (injury pick-ups aside)...you gotta drop one of those 2 you just picked up.

Panthers pick up LT Stacy Andrews, drop my next to lowest rated WR (forgot who it is)

of widow drops olshansky, I'm picking him up instead of andrews

lmao its that fuckin counter right? if my offense didnt go off against him idda lost to frankgore was killing my defense.. well the one counter play was killing my defense he was untouched everytime

Huge matchup vs ramesu...defintly a game I feel I could come out flat in since I really haven't been tested the last few weeks and he's comin in hot.

Lookin forward to tryin to get denario the ball...he's got good hands, he's only got one catch on the year so if I can get him up to a 77 or so after this season id be happy.

I also did a lil research on how shaun o hara landed in tennessee, thank you n8rocker

That and whatever tackle over running play he runs non-stop.

Feel free to come out flat. I'd like to start resting starters. :D

Just noticed Charles still has a shot at the rushing title. 5 games left so still plenty of time.
im questioning whether people picked in the correct order, my transaction history doesn't look like people are.
There were injury related pickups mixed in there.
