Well that was an interesting game...as expected, my back-ups couldn't compete with the Browns...but it was still a pretty fun game. I'm not so sure how I'd feel about Tyrod Taylor taking over the reigns if Flacco were to ever go down...but I hope it doesn't come to that. His stats look pretty decent (22/33 for 331 yards, 2 TDs, 1 INT) but they were mostly on short quick passes and the occasional intermediate throw. He had plenty of bad passes in the mix (doesn't seem to do too well leading the receiver on a slant play), but his speed definitely adds an element too.
I was surprised to learn that my 68/63 OVR CBs are not capable of playing the #1 and #2 position in my secondary...whoops. My 68 OVR rookie LOLB played the run pretty darn well, but is absolutely abysmal in coverage...I found him in man coverage on a receiver a couple times throughout the game and Ultimate Matt would quickly find the mismatch and throw it to the WIDE open receiver for a big gain. He has a whopping 31 man coverage rating lol. And Pollard/Zbikowski are the complete opposite of my starting FS/SS Ed Reed and Earl Thomas...but I didn't alter my gameplan with them in the mix, so that gave Colt McCoy a field day for the most part (12/16 298 yards 2 TDs 1 INT). Pollard (52 man coverage) and Zbikowski (53 man coverage) found themselves 1 on 1 against a receiver throughout a lot of the game because of the blitz packages I'm used to running.
Ultimate Matt played a great game so I'm not so sure if I'd even have won with my starters...but I'd like to think my secondary would have performed a lot better. My front 7 were pretty solid against the run despite only having 2 starters in the mix (excluding an 80 yard TD by Hillis on a FB dive play lol). Ray Lewis came up with 5 tackles and an interception to end the season. Ravens finish 12-4. Gg Ultimate Matt.
