I see what you mean, but if we were in the last hours of the week and everyone was like "WTF is up with this game??" I would hope you wouldn't have an issue popping your head in and explaining the situation which began with you properly PMing that person at the start of the week.

I don't think anyone needs to be called out, we just need to be informed.
Oh yea, I would have this afternoon/evening if I hadn't heard anything. But some peeps were getting on Yanksrule for not mentioning anything until today, so I wanted to toss out what it could be like from a new member's perspective (and I don't even know that my example is exactly like Yanksrules situation anyhow).

Even then, I can still see some benefit of being more vocal, even as a new member. It is important for everyone to know what is going on.

Then again, I think a sim for this game would probably give me a better shot at winning..
Cowboys can play at 9AM tomorrow. I know yanksrule is at work, but can one of his friends text him and see if that works for him?
so your going to give them an extra day when i couldnt get one when i left my power cord??? What happen to stickin to the rules
so your going to give them an extra day when i couldnt get one when i left my power cord??? What happen to stickin to the rules
We're not giving them an extra day. It's the difference between advancing at midnight and advancing at 10AM. If they can't agree to that time, we'll sim it tonight.

To me (not that my opinion matters), just apply some common sense.

Anyone got their next week's matchup set up for tonight? If so, I can see the complaints. Otherwise, what is the harm assuming they actually commit to that time?

ok thats fine but some people might play their game tonight giving that it is friday night

I'd prefer we advance tonight as well, I'd like to get my own game in.

yanksrule is one of our newer members, so we're giving him one mulligan on learning his lesson about communication.

I asked LV to text him and see if the 9AM time works. If it doesn't, we'll either sim it or get a sub for the Cowboys tonight (I'll leave that up to the Cowboys).

Alright, Panthers-Cowboys scheduled for 8:40AM EST tomorrow.

I'll be up and around, so I'll advance once the game finishes. Go ahead and schedule your games for after that.

Nothing actually bad. It just wasn't meant for me today - which is my PG rated version of my mini rant I just had.

I had a bunch of stuff typed out showing how the game was harsh, or little things pushed me over the edge..but bottom fucking line, I felt I played a good game against a better player, felt I easily could have won but just didn't. I had a great time playing and Zurezo played a damn good sim game.

PIT - 14
NYG - 10

Nothing to hang your head about, Zurezo's pretty damned tough. Looks like the game hinged on a fumble, I lost a game to him last year the same exact way, so I know the feeling. :D

Yea, the fumble was a huge 14 point swing. I had it 1st and goal @ the PIT 4 yard line, and Eli fucking coughs it up for a defensive TD. I can blame Madden or I can just try to pound it up the middle next time with Jacobs and his 95 CAR.

Hindsight is 20-20, but playing defense like you clearly were there I'd probably have been uber-conservative in that situation. Probably would have run it three times. Even if all you come away with is a FG, that still makes it a 3-score game with less than a half left. Like I said though, much easier to say that after the fact.

Edit: Nevermind, thought the score was 14-0, not 10-0 for some reason. That makes being aggressive there a lot better, especially if that's what was working. Though I almost never throw near the goal line for just this reason.

Ironically, I did just that at the end of the first half and up 7-0. Had 1st and goal around the 5 and ran it three straight times. 4th and goal with inches to go and 2 seconds left on the clock. I was torn on whether to try to punch it in or kick the FG. Needless to say, I took the 3 pts, went into half time with a 10 point lead and receiving the ball to start the 2nd. Then I drove down to the 4 for the ill fated fumble. Zurezo made the play though and I didn't.

No offense, but I'm not comfortable approving this trade less than a day after you made noise about quitting the league after a loss.

Unless you can assure me that you're totally committed to playing not only the rest of this season but next season as well, I don't think it's appropriate for you to be trading draft picks.

That's just my opinion though, it's possible I'm alone in that. If that's the case, than I wouldn't have any trouble with the deal on its merits.

Im not going anywhere I will stick around for as long this league goes on I am switching up game plans I'm going guns blazing on off. and bringing 6+ people a play on def. to get some pressure. I'm done with the try to hold on to the ball all game and get 3 yards a play and give people all day to throw.

If I go 3-13 this year thats fine maybe I will get 4 the following year.

Yeah, I pulled this game out of my ass. I was outplayed and got pretty lucky. I came up huge on the goal line twice and shot the game for a sack-fumble on a PA pass, other than that play, I really got nothing going all game. Yanksfan, you played a hell of a game!

Doooooom I'll be able to play anytime tomorrow between like 3 and 10 p.m. EST...I'm on my phone, it's hard to PM so I hope this will do for now....L8a playazzzz

Hey I was just seeing if someone has picked up the Bills yet. I was looking at posts recently and couldn't find anything about it. Would love to play if I could.

Yeah, they're owned, sorry. Keep tabs on the thread though, I'm sure a spot will open up sooner or later.

Wow, changing your scope rather drastically.

Pats-Jags going down tonight. This has all the makings of a classic trap game for the Pats, 5-0 versus 0-5, not to mention the Ravens, Jets, Chiefs, Dolphins stretch coming up the the Pats. Will have to avoid stepping in it. :D

If your team stays healthy they should be rather hard to stop, you have about 14, 90+ OVR players....the Pats are looking real nice this year,

It's actually only 9 if you go by the depth chart, but yeah there's no denying my roster is the probably the best in the league, at least on paper:

90-99: 9
85-99: 9
80-84: 8

My only starters under 80 are Marcus Cannon and Gary Guyton.
Is player management a reflection of future stats or projected maximum stats?
Neither. It just calculates the OVR differently (usually higher) than the depth chart does. Otherwise the stats are the same. There's a handy guide to it in the OP.

I know in normal offline franchise your coaches affect players overalls in depth chaert. But I don't thiink its the same. I just don't like how I have a 2nd year TE that's a 78 playermanagement up from a 66. But depth chart he's only a 68. I don't care about a point or two but 10 points? Cmon man

He's still the same player, his overall is just calculated differently. It's just a number, it doesn't actually affect his play on the field, only the individual attributes do.
DOLPHINS-JETS coming up shortly! HERE WE GO!
Looks like a tight one!

Edit: Headed to OT. Instant classic!

i'm not going to post a recap for this game, i just can't find it within myself to do it..... but uber had a field goal somewhere in the 2nd? 3rd quarter? that literally Hit the cross bar and sat on top of it there for a second or two....then flipped forward for a miss. that was crazy.

i want to kill something..maybe my madden disk, but gg anyways, uber!

i'm going to go find somewhere to sulk.

As fero mentioned on XBL, this game wasn't going to feel good win or lose. it was a brutal affair with missed opportunities for both teams, on both sides of the ball.

Quick Game Summary:

The 1st quarter was a punt fest. The 2nd things began to give for the defense. After realizing Miami was fully committed to stopping the run, Sanchez was called upon to throw it more than usual. That allowed for the first bomb to Golden Tate, 65 yards. Miami matched it on the next drive with a 50+ yard run by the rookie Bolton.

In the 3rd quarter, Sanchez got a little too cute and as he rolled away from the defense to get rid of the ball he got taken down for a strip sack on his own 5 yard line. Dansby ran it in for 6. That was Dansby's 2nd turnover (he also had an INT) and Sanchez's 3rd turnover (2 INTs) of the game.

With it all tied up heading into the 4th, Bolton was able to wear down the Jets D once again for a big TD. Less than a minute later though the Sanchez-Tate connection happened again, this time for 76 yards. With about 3 minutes remaining in the game, it came down to a series of punts. The Jets had a chance to win the game with time expiring, but the 56 yarder didn't even hit the crossbar this time.

In OT, the Jets received the ball and after little luck again with running it, Sanchez once again found Tate for a 77 yarder and the game.

NY Stats of Note:
-Sanchez went 13/24, with 302 yards, 3 TDs and 2 INTs. Sort of a 2012 vintage performance from him, picks included.
-Greene had 88 yards on the ground with 1 TD.
-Golden Tate finished with 262 yards on 8 receptions and 3 TDs (POTW??)
-Moch had 6 tackles for a loss, 1 of them a strip sack

Miami Stats of Note:
-Newcomer went 6 for 12, 67 yards and an INT
-Bolton had 132 yards on 17 carries, and 2 TDs
-Starks added another sack to his resume, this time with a FF
