GG, definitely more interesting then the score reflects. That pick 6 you had at my last drive in the red zone was a forehead slapper for me. Hopefully I'll have a better showing next game.

Patriots 21 - Dolphins 7

In a rain-soaked (seriously, does it ever NOT rain in week 1 of Madden franchises?) battle of attrition, the Patriots fought their way out of an early 0-7 hole to best the Dolphins in Miami.

After the teams traded punts on their first two possessions, the Dolphins got the scoring going early as new Dolphin Reggie Bush broke away for a 76 yard TD run. The score held until the second quarter when Tom Brady found Rob Gronkowski on 3rd down for a 59 yard TD strike. A drive later, little spitfuck Danny Woodhead took it 63 yards to the house, giving the Patriots a 14-7 halftime lead. They would add to that lead in the 3rd on another run by Woodhead, and their D stiffened in the second half to pull out the win.

Tom Brady was 12 of 17 for 186 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT, for a 101.6 rating

Chad Henne was 13 of 30 for 175 yards, 0 TD and 1 INT (coming on his last pass of the game on a one-handed beauty by Rob Ninkovich at the goal-line), for a 48.6 rating.

Reggie Bush had a huge debut, rushing 11 times for 161 yards and a score. He was also the Fins leading receiver with 5 catches for 68 yards.

Danny Woodhead lead the way for the Pats, rushing 10 times for 95 yards and 2 scores. BenJarvus Green-Ellis rushed only 3 times for 16 yards, but all 3 were third down conversions.

Gronk did most of the damage for the Pats, with 3 catches for 90 yards and a TD.

Fat Albert had a big debut for the Pats, getting a sack (one of 5 for the Pats) and recovering a key fumble. The Dolphins sacked Brady 3 times.

The news on the injury front was only bad for the Dolphins, who lost Cameron Wake for 10 weeks. Leigh Bodden left the game with a concussion, but should be fine.

Has anyone noticed the speed boost you get when you go for a QB sneak? I just tried one in single player and ran 85 yards with McNabb for a td lol..

Yeah it's some kind of glitch that they have yet to address. You should see the cheesers that try it with Vick.

Yeah, it's awesome when people do it online. "3rd and 2...oh, QB sneak for 7 yards. Fantastic!" I just don't understand why EA doesn't address the glitches with this game. QB sneaking has been bullshit for years, but I think they actually made it worse. I'm really convinced that EA wants people to play like assholes. They encourage it.

I agree. Until they patch it, I don't think it's unreasonable for us to ask they not be run in the league. Although I think at the goalline would still be okay, since it's a legitimate play down there.

Been in touch with my week one opponent. Just haven't been able to work out a time yet. I missed his message yesterday, and haven't heard back from him today. Hopefully we can get the game in tonight or tomorrow.

This is going to sound odd, but you might want to issue an edict telling people they aren't allowed to upload highlights from our franchise games. It seems as though it completely breaks the franchise website if you do.

At least in Firefox and Chrome.
