Holy fuck I did not know until now that Doom was 19-0 in season 1. Dear god.
Had a 32 game win streak snapped last season. It was only a matter of time. :) Looking to repeat season 1.

Texans’ Draft Recap

1st Round, No. 1 (from Jags) – Artez Cousins –RE, 85 Ovr – A Potential
With the first pick the Texans chose the next Haloti Ngata, he will primarily play NT where he is already rated, 88 Ovr. He really helps with the shift to 3-4 personnel.

1st Round, No. 5 (from Bucs) – Bryant Skinner – FS, 84 Ovr – A Potential
A more complete/impact safety to help take the Defense to the next level.

2nd Round Ba’ree Brown – WR, 75 Ovr – B Potential
More speed outside to compliment Harris’ deep arm.

3rd Round Delino Bradley (from Jags) – DT, 77 Ovr – B Potential
Depth, future starter, upgrade @ DT.

3rd Round Alton Tubbs – LT, 74 Ovr – C Potential
O-line is the weakest overall unit on the squad…looking for a guy for depth and possibly future time if he develops.

4th Round Chad Simmons – WR, 62 Ovr – D Potential
More speed on the outside and a KR/PR with good “wiggle” and explosiveness

5th Round Deandre’ Dial – RB, 67 Ovr – C Potential
Some depth @ RB with another fast kid. The offense needed some more speed/explosion. Special Teams for now.

6th Round Connor Murray – ROLB, 54 Ovr – D Potential
Special teamer

7th Round Brandon Austin – QB, 61 – D Potential
Developmental QB, only had 2 on the roster.

I honestly didn't even notice your lineman out there my line actually held up for a good amount of that game.

Some tough out of division games on my schedule as well that I can't wait for.

vs Steelers, @Ravens, vs Patriots, @ Titans, vs Saints

If only Deuce didn't bounce, he would of had his rematch.
BSETI, I'm around and ready to go whenever.
I just woke up, gonna eat somethin....how's a half hour-45min sound?

Bv your patriots team is outrageous....you certainly made some interesting moves.

That's fine, just post in here (or PM me) when you're ready, I'll see it.

And yeah, I like where the team is at talent-wise. If only my own talent could ever match it. :D

I'm working in a lot of new faces in this game (Moore, Thomas, Wake, both my 3rd and 4th corners) so we'll see how it goes. There could be a bit of an adjustment period. I also shuffled some pieces along the O-line (Solder to LT full-time, Cannon to RG, Light as super-sub), so if you see me taking a long pause during the game I'm probably fiddling with that. It's times like this I wish we could scrim with our franchise teams.

You have that much depth that M. Light is a sub, LOL. I'm jealous, haha!

its the patriots too, they have some good potential to start. you have 13 90+ players, 9 of them were patriots to begin with. 9 90's is dam good. and plus u added 4. so the pats are stacked.

Well keep in mindl this is 2013 Matt Light. He'll probably be in there full-time sooner or later, but I've been playing Solder at RG for 2 years and I want to give Cannon a shot there since he has such great run blocking.

And yeah, my roster is ridiculous. I don't have any doubt that if you tallied it up I have the most talent in the league, I shudder to think what someone like Doom could do with this roster. :D

It's actually only 10 if you go by the depth chart, but I'm not saying which 3. :D

gimme the pats n watch them win a superbowl...no offense but i wouldnt have made too many moves, but i get how u love the trading aspect of this league. the only player i would have traded would prolly be ochocinco, and maybe not since i tend to use him a lot when i play with them. the one guy that u traded that i never would have traded........brandon spikes

I'll also be transitioning back to a base 3-4 this season after being mostly 4-3 last year. Though I still plan to work in both fronts depending on the flow of the game. Besides, in this league you're in nickel and dime more often than not anyway.

None taken. I've always been okay with being "playoffs good" not "super bowl good" in this league, so I have more fun trading than anything else.

Spikes was tough to let go, but he did get me Samuel, so it's hard to be too upset about it. Besides, I was able to draft a very similar player in Darian Wheeler last season.

i think theres alot of people who could win with other teams... but the best part of this league is trying to take ur team to win a championship

yea i agree, it actually made me better at madden not playing with the pats in particular not playing with brady. playing with locker forces me to run the ball more n make sure guys are open before i throw it (usually). its just so frustrating that on one play he will hit the open receiver in the numbers, and the next play he throws it in the stands.

his A potential sucks too, started him for an untire year and he goes up 4 points? hes an 83 depthchart. i have contemplated trading for a qb recently.

I've got to make sure I'm free but Sea vs SF should happen at 6:30.

Ugh, I should not have played after the draft. Brees was up to his old tricks and threw 1 TD and 6 INT. Watch out for that Redskins owner, that was a whooping.

I played like an asshole and ran the ball 5 times.

Kilgo sucks.. #ontothenextone

 where do you have him lined up? His speed is his best attribute, so I wouldn't try too many jumps balls for the guy.

good game bv...couldnt stop the run in the first half. and locker fucking sucks in the rain. and every game in tennesee seems to be in the rain. well played tho u stuck to it and i couldnt get a stop when i needed it. good game.

If you'd like to PM me tips I'd be most appreciative. Really I just threw 60 yard bombs on every play, I don't know what came over me, I kind of wanted to do that, and then I feel behind and had to do it. I don't know who was covering Kilgo but Kilgo could never shake him or beat him on a streak, so the CB just always graabed it over Kilgo who has an 85 catch and 87 spec catch. I guess being 5'8 is gonna hurt more than i thought.

Welp the Pats aern't starting 0-3 as some analysts predicted. The question is, can they start 3-0?

And the Titans sophmore slump begins.......

Yeah, Brady over Locker was clearly the difference in this one, I think it would've been much closer without the rain. Cobie Ross is one tough son of a bitch, as you learned. You might stop him on a play or two, but the man is relentless. That Gronk fella is pretty good too. :D

gg. I'll have a full write-up in a bit.

By "some analysts" I assume you mean you jokers? :D

If I can come out of the "Marblehead Slam" 2-1, I'll be pretty pleased. This was definitely the toughest one though, so we'll see.

I'll let you speculate as to which joker. Congrats on taking down Bseti.

locker just cant put the ball where i need it. especially in the rain. so frustrating when u have a wide open slant route, and when u throw it it ends up closer to the guy running the streak route. i think its his 54 awareness. he just cant fucking do it. i like his scrambling and throw on the run ability, but thats just when a play breaks down. i usually dont scramble. the difference was clearly brady.

we both ran the ball effectively, i had the long runs, and you had the chunks. difference was when i tightened up in the second half, brady was able to hit his recievers against my run defense. i should have never let gronk get that open. it was good play calling by you. and i had a few good play calls when u were lined up against the run, but lockers throws were nowhere near the reciever. even on a few that were somewhat covered, he doesnt even give my guys a chance.

titans are looking for a quarterback

Cardinals are looking to move Brees, but sadly I made to many moves in the off-season. Don't give up on Locker after one loss to a good opponent.

Brees may be benched for the year after that last one.
So the Titans can't stop the run eh? Cobie Ross. Good to know.
Few can. ;)

He's a machine. His longest run was 36 yards, he just keeps coming and coming. He's really the perfect back for my style.

i dont think i have the personel to run a good 4-3 anymore, babineeux sucks, he gets pushed around on run plays. im playin for the wildcard this year.

Are the Ravens allowed to talk shit in this upcoming week after Ray Lewis sucked Brady's dick on the NFL top 100 players show last year?

too bad....id give u locker and all my picks for brees
I'll take Brees!
The second this Season ends Doom. He's yours. Or anyones.

I've completely changed my Offensive style of Madden lately and not for the better. I should have traded Brees and picked up that 89 speed QB in the draft. Can't imagine how fun he is. FML

WHo got that guy anyway? He went in the 2nd or 3rd right?

fuckin jake locker i hate you. the only reason i went 13-3 last year is cuz he didnt have to do shit the first 10 games.

Patriots 31 - Titans 17

The Patriots kicked off their quest for a third consecutive AFC East title in excellent fashion against the reigning AFC South champ Titans. The game was played in a steady downpour and consequently turned into a battle between two star running backs in Cobie Ross and Chris Johnson. Cobie was more consistent throughout the day, but Johnson excelled on the big play, scoring on 80-yard TD runs on his first carry of each half. Both were fantastic, so the game really came down to Brady being able to make the throws when he needed to in the rainstorm and Locker not being able to.

Brady was only asked to throw 7 balls, but completed all 7 for 154 yards and 1 long TD to Gronk. The one slip up was taking a long sack on 3rd down early in the 2nd half, but I'm not going to pin that one on Brady since he rolled to the left and both receivers on that side (Welker and Gronk) fell down. Probably should have just thrown it away, but the sack was better than forcing up a pick.

Locker was 4 of 12 for 57 yard, 0 TD and 1 INT to close out the game.

Ross kicked off his sophomore campaign with 22 carries for 174 yards and 3TDs. Law Firm added 8 carries for 23 yards, mostly late in the game (99 carry is nice in the rain).

Johnson carried 10 times for 183 yards and 2 scores, the vast majority of those coming on two 80 yard runs. Locker also had a nice 19 yard scramble on 3rd down where he easily outraced Vince Wilfork.

Gronk did most of the damage for the Patriots, catching 4 balls for 116 yards, including an 82 yard TD. Demaryius Thomas had 1 catch in his Patriots debut (on the first drive), but Roddy White wasn't targeted once.

Quiet day for the Titans receiving corps, none of whom had more than 20 yards.

Neither defense did much of note for most of the game. Ikeem Smith usually made the tackle when he got to Ross, but if a blocker was able to pick him up he became less of a factor. New Patriots safety Rahim Moore and his 99 zone coverage did have a pick deep down the sideline to seal the game, which was nice to see.

gg again bseti! I have a feeling we'll meet again at some point.

I was very pleased with what I was able to do on offense this game against a good defense. Running to set up the pass is my recipe for winning football with these Patriots. When Cobie is hitting the holes and running hard like he was in this one, it makes Brady's job so much easier. As you alluded to, you were so focused on the run that whenever I dropped back to pass my guys were wide open, especially Gronk. That quick out he runs against teams selling out to stop the run is just deadly. I wish I'd been able to try out my new 3-WR sets a bit more, but it's hard to complain when Brady doesn't miss a pass.

On defense I was actually pleased with how I played outside of the two long runs. When it comes to run defense I'm more concerned with consistently giving up 8 yards than occasionally giving up 80. Other than those two carries, my 3-4 handled Johnson pretty well, so I'll take that. Obviously Locker's inaccuracy helped the pass defense look better than it probably really is, but my new corners at least didn't embarrass themselves in limited play-time, and Moore/Kohlhausen looks like a great tandem at safety.
