Well he's not going to end up with a 90% completion rate with Ross either.

But I have lead the league in completion percentage for like 5 seasons in a row - Brady lead the league in both season 1 and 2, and Rivers pretty consistently lead the league in that category last year as well. So it's not completely thanks to Ross. :D

Lol how does having an elite RB affect completion percentage? I can see how it would affect yardage, TDs, QB rating, etc....but I don't see how completion percentage is affected by your HB. No excuses out of you!!!!! I'm expecting at LEAST 90% this year...

And BSETI I got home early so I'm ready to go now if you wanna get our game in early.

Edit: Well now that I think of it...if you throw only 10 passes a game or so, then each incompletion would take a bigger toll on your percentage...so I take that back!! I thought you were saying that having an elite RB directly affects your ability to complete a pass...

Sure it does. If defenses are selling out to stop the run, that leaves a lot more holes for receivers to run open. Open receivers = higher chance for a completion.

This is especially true for me since I will run or pass out of any formation, and my offense is built around picking up shorter completions.

When my running game is on, my passing game becomes infinitely more efficient.

Not exactly, but making defenses respect the run definitely makes it easier to pass. That's true in the NFL, and it's true in Madden (assuming defenses actually adjust to take away one or the other).

Ohhhh crap lol nevermind I see what you're saying now...when you said "he's not going to end up with a 90% completion rate with Ross either" I thought you were saying that having Ross makes it HARDER to get to that 90% completion rate....I think my brain overlooked the italics and the "either".....

I read it just as "He's not going to end up with a 90% completion rate with Ross"....STUPID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Haha, no. I was just saying that 90% is unsustainable no matter what. Brady was at 68% in season 1 and 70% in season 2 though, and I do think defenses having to scheme even more to stop Ross will give him even more open opportunities.

There's already evidence of that mounting: Gronk didn't have a single 100 yard receiving game in the first 2 seasons, and already has 2 in 2 weeks this year. TEs are typically the largest beneficiaries of passing when people expect the run (though some of that should also obviously be attributed to the absence of Hernandez). Meanwhile Brady is at 90% through two games with only 2 incompletions (one being an interception and the other a busted screen when he threw it away).

All this game planning talk makes me sad once again that we can't scrimmage with our franchise teams. Even moreso since I'm sure EA is never going to add even a simple thing like that to Online Franchise.

Why? Because they don't have any financial incentive whatsoever to make Online Franchise a more appealing option that Ultimate Team, since UT is a continuing revenue stream for them while Online Franchises aren't.

Since I know EA is never going to make improvements to Online Franchise out of the goodness of their hearts, my hope has become that we get an Online Franchise Pro where we can pay a league fee and get expanded functionality, etc.

I thought it was 8:30?
I'm sure he meant 5:30 Pacific time.
He did. I'm not about to pass up the opportunity to bust my brother's chops though. ;)

Ah, gotcha. I only knew he was on Pacific time since I just played him in the other league recently.

By the way, pending Sprice's approval, Packers/Lions hopefully will go down tomorrow at 3 P.M. Eastern.

Who are the 3 sets of brothers? I know DVO and staticz and BV and LV, but who is the last pair?

I haven't been able to reach yanksrule (sent a PM last night and posted on the board). I'd really like to get this done today, so if you know him can you see whats up?

Sprice and the new Bills owner are step-brothers. I believe there might also be one other set of brothers in that crew, but I'm not sure.

I'll text him. Are there two similiar Yanks names in this league?

Your asking about the Panthers right? I'll text him anyway..

Back to work!

jags vs texans should be going down tonight around 11 or 1130 central
with a jaguars win they could take an early lead in the divison

Good game man...you know it was pretty uneventful when Ed Reed gets "Player of the Game" with 1 tackle and 1 INT (which was from the 1st quarter).

man the AFC south is falling apart big time this year if i lose to the texans tonight we will have three 0-3 teams with one 2-1 team. im suppose to be the only 0-3 team in this division

Ok Bv...lighten up...it's 48-0... I think it's Safe to say that you're the better brother at madden on this lovely evening...

Haha, I was trying to! He wanted to keep running no huddle and calling timeouts. Had to have him let me pause to get my 9th string D in there before Vince Wilfork had a stroke. :D
fuck Baltimore! and the luck you are riding into the borough with!!!!
Lets get a pats Ravens game going!

New England Patriots 48 - Arizona Cardinals 3

The New England Patriots opened up their home schedule with a resounding win over the Arizona Cardinals, their third straight dominating performance to start the season 3-0. Not too much to say about the scoreline in this one, when the turnover battle is 6-0, the score will typically look something like this.

Tom Brady was 5 of 7 for 128 yards, 2 TDs and 0 INTs before being relieved by rookie Evan Smith (who attempted only one pass) in the 2nd half.

Drew Brees and Tavaris Jackson each played a half and were equally charitable, each throwing 3 picks on 16 attempts, though Jackson managed to complete 9 balls to Brees' 3.

The Cards D actually did a pretty good job on Cobie Ross, holding him to a modest (by his standards) 111 yards on 19 carries with 1 TD.

Adrian Peterson was stymied all day against his former team, while Jackson was the leading rusher with 8 carries for 59 yards.

Roddy White and Damaryius Thomas had the TDs for the Patriots (White's on a beautiful deep ball to the back of the endzone), while Gronk had a quiet day after dominating the first two weeks.

Rob Housler was the leading receiver for the Cards, with 5 catches for 77 yards. Fitz, doubled on nearly every play, only caught 3 balls.

Devin McCourty had 3 picks and returned two of them for TDs, making a strong DPOW case. New Patriot Derron Charles also had a pick six, got a sack, and forced a fumble on a punt (though the Cards recovered). Jerod Mayo and rookie safety Exavier Haynes also had picks. Jermaine Cunningham had 3 sacks.

gg bro! I honestly didn't expect it to be this much of a blowout after you beat me in that close game in the other league a while back.

As you've said, your offense is in shambles right now, not gonna win many games when you throw six picks. You actually did a pretty damned good job on Ross, so if you'd played a bit better on offense this may well have been a game.

Week 3: Browns @ Dolphins

Dolphins: 33
Browns: 28

Browns Defense: 2 Sacks
Browns Offense: 391 Yards Passing / 37 Rushing Yards

Miami's Defense: 9 Sacks, 2 Interceptions
Miami's Offense: 196 Yards Passing, 1 TD / 278 Yards Rushing, 1 TD

gg Ultimate Matt X!!

Recap Below, I write too much!
The Dolphins, coming off an impressive Win in week 2, turned their sights towards the Cleveland Browns in Miami for Week 3.

The First quarter saw 3 Straight Minutes of an impressive Dolphins Offense, Moving from their own 10 Yard Line to the Browns 3 Yard Line, albeit seeing their offense sputter, ending in a 20 yard field goal from the 3 yard line. Browns were forced to punt on their First Possession

Come around to the 2nd Quarter, and the Dolphins kicked a 41 yard field goal on their 2nd Possession. 2nd Possession for the Browns ended up with a 95 Yard TD to G. Little after the dolphins had pinned the Browns back on their own 5 with a 3rd and 18. The following possession saw a punt by the Dolphins. Once again, like clockwork, as soon as the Browns got the ball back, they proceeded to throw a 58 Yard TD to B. Watson to make it 14-6 Browns. At this point Peter Newcomer was forced to take matters into his own hands as he ran the Ball in for a 60 Yard Touchdown with 2:06 left in the Half. 14-13, Dolphins. Both the Browns and the Dolphins end up punting, Again. Browns get the ball back with about a Minute left, and manage to get within field goal range, but manage to miss a 53 Yard field goal with 6 Seconds remaining in the half. Dolphins run the clock down to take it to the half.

Half Time, Dolphins 14 -Browns 13

First throw out of the gates by Colt McCoy was intercepted by Chris Clemons for 25 Yards. Unfortunately, Dolphins only able to get a 20 Yard Field goal out of this great opportunity. Browns forced to punt on next possession. Miami then puts up an 80 Yard Rush by A. Bolton for a Touchdown on 3rd and 1. On the following Possession Karlos Dansby picks Colt McCoy off at the CLE 42 Yard Line to end the Quarter. Dolphins up 23-14 at this point.

Dolphins forced to punt to start out the 4th quarter. After a Minute and 47 Seconds of plugging away at the Dolphins Defense, the Browns manage to hit T. Sanders for a 19 yard Td to make the game 23-21, Dolphins. Browns attempt onside kick, Dolphins Recover. With 1:42 Seconds left, Dolphins have the ball at the Cleveland 39 Yard Line. They Face a Choice, Kick a 56 Yard Field Goal (and possibly leave them immediately in field goal range if missed), or Punt and pin the Browns deep in their own territory. The Dolphins become a little brazen and decide to attempt the deep field goal. Dan Carpenter knocks it right through the uprights to make the game 26-21, Dolphins. The Browns however, are determined to play this one through to the end, and keep chipping away at (apparently) the porous Dolphins passing defense. After consecutive 32 Yard, and 21 Yard Passes to G. Little, Colt McCoy hands the ball off to N. Dyer for a 30 Yard rush right up the middle. My Heart sank down to my knees. Score at this point is Browns 28, Dolphins 26. Miami's Offense comes back out on the field to see if they can pull out a thriller with 1:05 seconds on the clock, all 3 of their timeouts. Newcomer hits J. Lofton for 23 yards, Proceeds to hit Brandon Marshall for 17 Yards with 42 Seconds left. Then in an absolutely unexpected turn of events on 1st and 10 at the Cleveland 35 (Dolphins are obviously trying for the field goal here, running down the clock) Peter Newcomer spots a wide open Anthony Fasano cutting across the field and manages to hurl the ball towards him as #90 Na'Quan Watson lays Peter Newcomer into the turf. Fasano catches it and runs it in for 35 Yard TD with 30 Seconds left. Strange thing about this play is there wasn't a single Cleveland Browns defender within 15 yards of Fasano when he caught it at the 18 yard line. He literally sauntered into the end zone for the final 18 yards. I was so surprised to see him wide open. Score: Dolphins 33, Browns 28.

Browns get the ball back with 27 Seconds left on their own 19 Yard line. First play of the drive, Colt McCoy manages to hit T. sanders for 44 yards to move the ball to the Miami 37 Yard Line with 18 Seconds Left. The following 4 passes ended up by 4 straight in completions by Colt McCoy to end out the game.

Final Score:
Dolphins: 33
Browns: 28
