Mafia II Collector's Edition (PS3/360) $59.99 at Best Buy

It's been $60 there for a while now, amazon price matched it a while back, that's how I got my copy. The CE of this game is actually pretty good, if only for the Steelbook & artbook. The score is top-notch, so the inclusion of it is a nice bonus. However, the map is nothing special and the packed in DLC is no big deal either.

Are you talking about PS3 exlcusive DLC or CE dlc (if there is any).

I heard the PS3 "exclusive" dlc was well worth the 8 bucks you would have to pay otherwise and was pushing me towards the PS3 edition unless the PS3 was significantly inferior (e.g. Bayonetta). I usually get CEs on the 360 but these DLC deals are starting to complicate things.

Its a good game but its not worth 60 bucks, pretty much you will be done with it in 12 hrs. And you can't go explore the city after you finish it, you have to start a chapter, but there's no real reason to explore it

I am going to take mine back and try get the 20 credit. As a reward zone member you have 45 days and I think it came out on aug 27 this is day 44.

It is. The devs made a post about technical difficulties etc. and the PS3 fanboys had a field day.

Thats the reasoning as to why they made exclusive DLC (to make up for it).

Check out the Mafia 2 forums (or just google it) and you'll see the stink PS3 players are making of it.

I got this, but haven't opened it yet. Having second thoughts though since I dont care about the steelbook or the art. The OST sounds good but the exclusive Made Man DLC (couple of cars+some clothes) is meh so I dont think they are worth it for me at ($59-10%+tax).

The CE come with DLC aslo, but it's just a couple of cars and suits. Nothing of any great interest there.

Also, I have to admit that the 360/PC versions really are far superior(I'm not usually one to buy into the smaller, minute differences making one version extremely inferior, as some would put it.) and I actually own the PS3 version as I only have a PS3.

I wanted to pick this game up eventually, as I heard great things about the story. The demo for the PS3 was quite fun as well. But seeing as I have waited this long, I can wait a few more months for this to go down further. $40 sounds like the sweet spot for me for the CE.

Here's a direct quote from 2KGAMES (makers of the game).

"Hey guys,

When designing Mafia II, we optimized for each of the three different systems the game would run on to make sure the core experience was the best it could be. Because of this, there are some differences from one platform to the next. In terms of the PS3 version, I wanted to clarify a couple points you have been asking about: There will not be highly detailed grass or large pools of blood, the cloth movement is less noticeable than, for example, the PC version, and the visual fidelity in the demo is generally representative of what you’ll see in the full game. "

Yikes, thanks for pointing that out to me. I actually didn't mean to say what I posted, and fixed it accordingly. The PS3 version is definitely the worst of the three, I don't know what I was thinking when I typed it that way.

Got a Steam code for $15 from someone, it is interesting because I usually get hooked due to a solid game play mechanic, but this seams to have hooked me based on the characters and atmosphere.

I'm finally gonna get this on Saturday, after skipping on MoH, being 'meh' for CoD:BlackOps and not too many AAA titles from here until the new year, I think if I can get a month and a half out of this game, it'll be worth it.
