raven people just bleed out. i guess if you're used to not having medics that actually revive people, then you get used to bleeding out. im used to running across the field to revive someone. when i reach them, they bleed out. then i got shot to death.

theres a lot of things that I took for granted on sver and playing with Kandal's group 2EZ. at least, Supplice had a clan to support him. I can see now why you would kick people off your squad to let someone competent in.

i feel like if i don't do it, then its not going to happen. i feel that i need to be a one man rambo that kills, heals, and fixes. Or do as much as I can because only the very few revive you.[/QUOTE]

Happened today to me.


Side note, was playing Domination, S.V.E.R... and we were defending. Against Valor.. and they didn't even manage to unlock anything but A & B, and even then didn't come close to even taking one for even a second.

Serious serious ownage.. they never once took the blow off tower we were defending (my squads).

yes, i griefed out pretty badly lately with valor. No one will heal you, we lose a ton because the team is retarded and no one will heal you. I too took so much for granted that people with SVER did.

and oh, you can't defuse the charges from behind the gate like you can with SVER.
 
Couldn't it be that the medic in question didn't have the res skill?

I've been playing for some 7 hours and get revived whenever there's a chance (no enemies surrounding me watching over my body to catch a medic, etc)

The problems I did run into though were
- People leaving the game if attacking on Sabo (SVER and Raven, so we'd just go with 5 to 6 squad members)
- On one particular game a frigging idiot convinced half the squad to spawn at B (without having taken A) where they.... sat below the water tower to snipe... Only the SL, me and other dude and the other squad (with 6 members or less) were attacking A. So guess how that turned out...

the players that have the res skill have the little medic symbol by their name.
 
I get revived all the time in Valor unless I'm in a squad with newbies while my time up to a lvl 10 with SVER was full of uncoordinated squads that never really worked together. Raven is the faction that seemed to have the most teamwork and communication along with being the most fun to play, as we cleaned house in acquisition as the defender several times.
 
i suspect that you can take sver sabotage with two compotent people, one for A and B. But you have time so that both of you take it at the same time.

in one sver sabo game, half my team dropped out. well most dropped out when the map was announced and before match started. i managed to sneak up and kill most people towards B through the indirect way. i took B twice and held it for a seconds. i was almost tempted spawn camp sver like how sver spawn camps anyone else.

frankied14 - i joined the destructoid clan (DTD) since there wasn't a cag raven clan. theres over 10 people with two 50+ level officers. to you especially, once you reach level 15, always try to be the squad leader. you dont want anyone else being SL. its also cool because once you reach level 15, you satisfied all the other PL and OIC requirements if you met them previously.

im disappointed that the raven LMG or any weapons dont have the stopping power of sver.

Played a Domination game with some Valor randoms. Heard them cackling at my name (even though it isn't at all funny). First 5 minutes, they were calling out my name everytime I got killed. Then after getting revived, I get a knife in the back from another teammate. Great. Did my medic thing and ended up with 650XP and 3rd on my squad. Some people are so damn frustrating to play with.

the_grimace, I try to make my way to downed teammates when I can. I do see what you mean with guys running right past you. Only started noticing as well how people seem to stick to the 1st objective even though the frago changes. Grrr.

well, the guns in valor are actually better then svers in some ways. They fire faster, hold more ammo, and are WAY more stable compared to svers gun. Its just sucks that im finding the team work on SVER was top notch compared to Valors

also.... is there a CAG valor clan? I tried to make one and it said the name was taken!

played with some very nice teams against SVER on sabotage tonight, had a bunch of major victories against them

I would, but like i said, i tried to make a cheapassgamer clan, but the name was taken. It seems that someone made it already. I do want to find some people to play Valor with though, so if no one steps up to saying they made the clan, i'll just make a new clan and call it something other then cheapassgamer.

hmm... just got a thought, maybe it counts the clan name in SVER? I could always try to reword it. :p

EDIT: ok made the cheapassgamer Valor clan. Hopefully we can get 10-12 to join like they had in SVER!

I'll check out the faction roster tommorrow and start sending invites out. If anyone wants an invite before then, just add me on psn and message me letting me know your from CAG
 
I bought the game but was out of town all weekend. I should get to it this week.

There is a lot to read through here, I think I am just going to go in with what I can get from the game, and choose a team.

Actually, it's the players with the Med Kit that have the cross on top of their head, with or without resuscitation skill, so seeing the medic symbol is no guarantee that they can rez
 
I finally was able to upgrade to Resuscitate. So hopefully i can give that a go this week, which is good because i already got my 50 kill Trophy for Rapid Assualt.

Which is a bit of an annoyance of the game from me. Why would Zipper give them the little medic icon when they can't resuscitate? Give it to them when they can.

Snake2715: Make sure to get the medical kit and resuscitate to gain XP faster and be of great use to your squad. That's where most peoples first skill points should be allocated.

Definitely hope they do something about that. I always feel bad for the new medics that get screamed at for not resuscitating downed teammates, when a simple look at the roster would tell you they're just not leveled high enough for it yet. Hey, we we're all level 5 once :lol:

If you use the skill point from the tutorial you can have resuscitation at level 5

Almost to level 60, when you change faction do you have to completely start over? As in losing all of your skill points and such? I assumed as much just looking for a confirmation.

Also, Valor is either Fantastic or complete shit. There is no in between it seems like, either we win quickly or get smashed.

I am really attached to Valor though and I really dont want to leave the faction but did want to try out the other PMCs. I cant wait for my return to Valor Co.

You'll lose all experience and skills (even if you remain on the same PMC after going veteran). But you'll have a permanent 10% bonus on experience earned, so in theory the second time is easier to get to level 60

i restarted after I picked valor. I was only on lvl 4, but wanted to use the SVER armor from the codes I have.

I went 17 and 6, then 21 and 9 the two matches I played today and already got back to lvl 4. I'm sure about unlocks in this game as there isn't a picture of the specific gun I'm using.

I want the AKu with a silencer, basically. I really love the realism in this game. It's yet another reason to never play Modern Warefare 2 (Killzone 2 being the first reason)
 
man, valor has been getting their ass handed to them against raven in acquisition. the last 5 matches I played were all attacking raven, and we lost pitifully in every one. The bunkers and defenders have such a large firing field its really impossible to penetrate. yet its all a mazelike map, so they can sneak back to repair stuff quickly.... GAH
 
Well, I wanted to switch just to see what the other PMCS were like to play with. I can get back to 60 and switch back at if I really dont like it.

Good point. I loved KZ2 but tMW2 didnt grab me.

You prefer KZ2 as well, and thats a good thing. I am thinking I will like this more and more. Bought it a week ago, did the updates and have yet to even play. Too busy. Hopefully this Sat I will get some time.

Honestly if you just want to checkout the other PMC's why not just create a new PSN account and give the other PMCs a try?
 
I'm disappointed that the second veterancy doesn't stack i.e. getting 20% extra XP. Would have made leveling a lot more faster, but I understand the need for "balance." Speaking of which...

Zipper comments on MAG’s balancing issues

MAG is an ambitious online-only first-person shooter on the Playstation 3. Although the game for fairly positive reviews, one of the main complaints about it has been the lack of balance between the three main fractions: Raven, S.V.E.R. and Valor.

Fortunately, it looks like the developer is taking an active approach in resolving these issues in MAG. Jeremy Dunham, the Sr. Community Manager of Zipper Interactive, made the following statement on the comments section of the Playstation.Blog:

We are always working on the balancing for all three factions — this is a job that will never truly be done since there are so many contributing factors thanks to online play, new strategies, creative exploits, etc. Don’t expect us to stop looking for things to adjust for a long, long time.

He later went into more details about rebalancing MAG:

Anytime there’s the an overwhelming perception that there’s a balancing issue that needs to be addressed, we’re committed to looking into what the facts are to determine what needs to be adjusted, followed by applying those (or not adjusting things at all depending on what we find) as soon as we can.

Point in fact, our next few in-game updates are going to sport a number of significant balancing adjustments that should impact the game quite noticeably regardless of who you play as.

Shouldn't it be as easy as looking at the winning percentages of SVER, Valor, and Raven on their home maps and seeing how even it really is?
 
I think I'll switch just to be able to play maps differently. I'm only a 32 but already looking for a little bit of variety
 
Are other people finding it next to impossible to defuse charges that are set on gate/doors like the one at the main buillding on 'Domination'?

not if your sver. they can defuse them from the other side! it was one thing i took for granted and when I found out you couldnt do it on valor i was upset. lol. For valor and raven, you just kind of got to brace yourselves for an assault, push them back, and repair it. rinse repeat.

thats how i got my trophy for bomb squad! i didnt find out about it until i reached level 60. so i had play many dom games to find the just the right conditions for it work.

i wish there was a way to talk to someone else on the other team in the game. like, i wont kill you and youre not going to kill me ok? let me plant this charge and you can defuse it. rinse and repeat. or let me blow up this mortar b/c youre going to repair it.

Please don't start doing that kind of thing! But you CAN communicate with someone on the other team just by speaking on your MIC (even when you're bleeding out on the floor) because of proximity chat. Of course that you'll also have to talk to the rest of his/her squadmates, platton and company if you really want to do this undisturbed (as well as your own) so, good luck with that!

I messed around with it today, trying to have one loadout per game type. The skill tree comes in handy to so you can plan out how to spend your spec points.

Anyone in Valor opened up the 3rd AR? I don't know whether to stick with the 2nd one or switch over for the stopping power. Does the accuracy it lacks made up for if I have the previous perks selected?
 
I'm hoping to get this once I get everything done with school this week. Not sure if I'll be on next weekend though. Is there anything in the case that would make me not want to buy this used? Like activation codes or anything? I'm just trying to find the best deal on the game now.
