I signed up for Blender awhile ago. I hadn't received anything so I emailed them. They sent a reply like a week later and said they had no acct. for me! I went back to try again but the link was dead :( ....
just got my cgw, but apparently the disk isnt included, which kinda sucks. but hey free is free
You only get the disc, if you subscribe directly with CGW. Subscribing through a third party only gets you the magazine, this is according to CGW customer service.

does any1 have any new magazine offers?
nowadays this is jus a forum for bragging for wat mags u already have (i should b the one 2 talk lol)
https://xp3.mybonuscenter.com/ixp/splash.tmpl?afk=03257895

You can get a year's subscription for 3 of the following mags: Budget Living, Time, PC Magazine, TV Guide, Prevention, Men's Journal, Food and Wine, Lifetime Magazine, The Sporting News, Organic Style, Computer Shopper, Business 2.0, Parents, Essence, Fast Company, YM, and Electronic Gaming Monthly.
They say that they will charge a $2 processing fee per magazine. Sounds a little wierd, i've never heard of a processing fee for magazines. You will be forced to submit credit card info i think.

Haha, yea within the past few days I've gotten the newest issues of Gamepro, EGM, and Computer Gaming World. Sweet Action.
i suppose im mr cool

Well I get Maxim,Stuff,Blender,EGM,Gamepro,Tips n Tricks, and Sporting News. Now whos damn COOL??

I'm looking for a free subscription to FHM/Maxim/Blander/Stuff/King (any men's magazine) and/or any video game magazine. Thanks
something that I signed up for that was free is sending me stuff in the mail saying that I need to pay them. I got so much free stuff latley that I dont even know what it was from. Its only 2.50 that they want but still, they might want more again. I dont know what to do.
Sometimes places will offer a free trial (or free magazine issue) and then charge you if you don't cancel. If that's the case, write CANCEL in big letters on the invoice and mail it back to them.

is there any chance of you being charged for the ones that say free because i dont not want to be charged i would be thankful is someone would answer me thank you (specifically talking about the PSM magazine)

Read the fine print--
what you're looking for is something saying 'Your subscription is provided by a sponsor' or something like that.
If they're going to bill you, it should say something like '4 free issues, just write CANCEL on the bill if you're not satisfied.' And that works.
Obviously don't give them a credit card number. If there's a selection for 'bill me,' then it's not paid for by a sponsor.
You WILL, regardless, eventually get renewal notices. That's fine, you can either re-sub or let it lapse.
Hmm, Free:
Maxim [till 2008, i believe]; Stuff; FHM; The Week [excellent newsweekly]; Family Fun; Child; Parent; Ladies Home Journal; Blender; Wine Enthusiast; TV Guide; PC Gamer; Computer Games; Sporting News; Barron's; Working Mother; Claremont Journal; PSM; Xbox Nation; Lego; Computer Games; YM; Seventeen; and probably two or three more PC/console/gaming mags.

thanky you cheapyD for the free magazines i filled some out and i hope to get them and thanx for telling me about them

okwhat the hell i s going on with Computer Game billing me? i only got one issue so far. i got an email too, beside the mail, saying i need to pay up for the mag and CDs, and the thing is, there is no CD!!! Aint that a bich :p

I used to get those all the time back in the day. They send you a SASE to send back the payment right? Well just cross off the form and write in big letters: "I ONLY GOT ONE ISSUE, I WANT TO CANCEL, STOP BILLING ME". That worked for me.

It might be even easier now as you can just e-mail or call them tellin them your situation.
Any FHM,Blender,Stuff, any mags my girl might like?Any car{import tuner or low rider type mags} or skateboard mags?
FHM and Blender are both men's magazines, but according to my snooty journalist cousin women read men's mags as much as guys do (?!) You should just ask your girl what she likes to save yourself the trouble.

I never understood why girls like to read Maxim and FHM. Maybe they like pointing at the pictures and saying "Ohh, she's pretty."

I can't imagine a guy reading Teen Bop and pointing at a picture of a guy and saying "He's hunky."

Well, my best (girl) friend loves the maxim and stuff, but then again...shes a lesbian....and anyways, I ain't complainin :D

I SIGNED UP FOR ALL THESE MAGAZINES BACK IN NOV/DEC '03 AND ALL I GOT IS A COMPUTER GAMING WORLD. WHY CAN'T I GET A VIDEO GAME MAGAZINE YO :(

i get Golf Digest, Ski, Outdoor Life, Sporting News, Computer Gaming, EGM... i've been getting like 2-3 magazines a week.

Just one of the many differences in the genders...I've heard my (female) friends say things like, "Oh, she's hot" and actually mean it. We're wired differently - it's a fact of life.

I think I prefer being a guy, though...

you have to wait alittle longer for "free" stuff... took me four to five months for me to even start receiving stuff

I signed up for EGM on Jan 4, 2004, and I got an email from them today...

Yep, I've done it. What happens is they put a 2$ processing fee through, and you have a subscription for a year for however many mags you selected. After that year runs up, if you do not cancel, they will bill your card. However, if, say, you ordered in March, you can cancel in February and will not be billed.

If you got a bill for a 'free' mag, just write 'Please cancel' on it and send it back. If they send you a bill, and you don't dispute it, I think it can become a legimitate bill, and they can hunt you down. I also think if you're under 18, in many states, you can't be a party to a contract, so they have nothing on you [note: I am not a lawyer.]
My wife occasionally reads the FHM, Maxim, Stuff mags; they're a little trashy for her to really enjoy them, but there are some funny bits and every now and then an actual article. Now, Playboy, if I don't get that one first, I can't have it until she's finished with it.
And for some reason, I'm also getting YM and Seventeen. The good news is, I gave my brother a free sub to them also :) He didn't appreciate it all that much. I'm not sure why i signed up for them, except that they were free. I do flip through it, then I bring a bunch of the free magazines that I don't want to keep to work and drop them in the breakroom [we have 300+ in the office, someone's got to be interested in any of them.]

I see some people listing what mags they get free.
Okay, I'll bite--here's what I'm getting, that I can think of offhand.
Maxim, Stuff, FHM [till 2008 and 2010 respectively.] TV Guide. PSM. EGM. PC Magazine. Maximum PC. Ladies Home Journal. Nascar Thunder. Barron's. Sporting News. Working Mother. YM. Seventeen. Child. American Baby. Life Extension. Charisma. Computer Gaming World. Gamepro. New York Observer. Potentials. PC Gamer. Forbes. Money. Electronic House. Better Homes and Gardens. The Week [this is actually one of my favorites]. Cruise Travel. Lego Magazine. Wine Enthusiast. Budget Living. Fast Company. Blender. Communications News. PC Photo Pro. Outdoor Photography. Cargo. Interview. I know there's a few more, but that's all I can think of right now.

If you can deal with 'cheap' instead of 'free', there's always magazine subscriptions going for real cheap on Ebay. Obviously check feedback and compare for prices, but for instance, someone is selling a 4 year sub to The Week for 9.99, when the best I've seen [other than free] is thru the mag itself, 20 bucks a year.

I've only gotten one CGW so far. I also just got my first MacAddict from freebiz.

If you guys are curious if your mag subscription has gone through, check the magazine's customer service site. http://www.slickdeals.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=11428 This thread at the boards on slickdeals.net has many links to several magazines' sites. They include links to FHM, PSM, Spin, Gamepro, CGW, EGM, ESPN, OXM, TV Guide, and OPM. Too bad I've never seen a free deal for OPM :(
