Sadly that's the reality. It's cheaper to ship via Canada Post to the USA than to Canada. The cheapest I can do to Canada is $4USD shipped each.

Is it somehow different out west? I always thought rates were the same nationwide?

I wouldn't say he's a traitor. =P It did charge me quite bit more to ship to Canada even if I have a package to send to NY from CA, it'd cost me slightly less in contrast to Canada (anywhere in Canada).
