This is an awesome thread idea, and I'll definitely be picking through it later. About four or five months ago, I went on a mission like this to create a mix of '90s one hit wonders. I labeled the CD "Mix Master Brandyn's Forgotten '90s".

(I realize that a couple of these aren't exactly one hit wonders)

1. White Town - Your Woman (the inspiration for this entire mix)
2. Cherry Poppin' Daddies - Zoot Suit Riot
3. Flys - Got You Where I Want You
4. OMC - How Bizarre
5. L7 - Pretend We're Dead
6. Eels - Novocaine For The Soul
7. Squirrel Nut Zippers - Hell
8. Refreshments - Banditos
9. Better Than Ezra - Desperately Wanting
10. Superdrag - Sucked Out
11. Big Bad Voodoo Daddy - You & Me & The Bottle Makes 3 Tonight
12. Reel Big Fish - Sell Out
13. Buckcherry - Lit Up
14. Primitive Radio Gods - Standing Outside A Broken Phone Booth With Money In My Hand
15. Mad Season - River Of Deceit
16. Dog's Eye View - Everything Falls Apart
17. Cornershop - Brimful Of Asha
18. Brian Setzer Orchestra - Jump, Jive, An' Wail
19. Kris Kross - Jump (for a very humorous finale)

train - drops of jupiter
lifehouse - hanging by a moment
shawn mullin - lullaby
their actually was a hanson song that was a single that i liked....wish i knew what the hell it was called
Was it a song called "Penny and Me"?
Spacehog "In The Meantime"
again not a one hit wonder, they also had the song mungo city off the chinese album (which is a SWEET album.)
train - drops of jupiter
If anything the band Train is a three hit wonder at least, not only did they have "Drops of Jupiter" they had "Meet Virgina" and "Calling all Angels" also. And in my area they played the crap out of their very first single a song called "Free' off their first alblum a ton.

Blues Traveler - Runaround
The Wonders - That thing you do!
Cake - The Distance
The Wallflowers - One Headlight

Hanson had a few other hits, as did Information Society ("Think" was actually the hit single that got me into that band). I could swear I've heard another song in heavy rotation by Eagle-Eye Cherry, but I don't know the name of it. To whoever said Tesla, "Love Song" was actually a bigger hit for them than their "Signs" cover.

I'm actually surprised no one has said what many consider to be the all-time greatest one-hit wonder: "Walking On Sunshine" by Katrina & The Waves.

EDIT: Cake also had "Short Skirt-Long Jacket" which was a decent hit for them.

It all depends where you live in the Country also, I know from being from PA all my life we get alot of some bands(i.e. Live, Fuel, Train) and not any but one song(or maybe two) from another(i.e. Toad the Wet Sprocket, Cake, Faith No More.

Mighty Mighty Bosstones - Impression That I Get
Dead Eye Dick - New Age Girl
Bloodhound Gang - Fire Water Burn
Das EFX - They Want E. F. X.
Fun Lovin' Criminals - Scooby Snacks
Veruca Salt - Seether
Crash Test Dummies - Mmm Mmm Mmm
The Badlees - Fear of Falling
Tonic - If You Can Only See

for someone who told me i was wrong on train, which i probably was...you're way off on a lot of those that you've mentioned

cake had "never there" and "short skirt, long jacket"
the wallflowers had "6th avenue heartache"
fun lovin criminals had "the fun lovin criminals"
bloodhound gang had "bad touch"
veruca salt had "volcano girls"
tonic had "you wanted more"

and those are just the ones that i know of

you'd just think that if you're going to correct someone, you'd know your own shit

Can a fictional band from a movie count? They were intentionally one hitters, the name was a none too subtle joke in that regard.

Over the years there have been appearances in LA clubs by a composite band called the One Hit Wonders. This is made up entirely of guys most well known for work on albums by big name performers and bands who brought them in one track. They may occasionally front their own band but make their living doing studio work.

You never know when a version of this band will appear. It's rarely the same people twice and happens spontaneously when enough of them get together and have the whim. They book into some club on a weeknight and spend a few hours doing songs from past one hit wonders of music.
