Man fakes his own beheading...fools media for a day.

What an asshole, I say they chopper him into Iraq and drop him into a hot zone with militants, fighting, and death all over and then see how real he finds it.
 
If it comes down to it, he could say he was just exercising his right to free speech, which I think is BS in this situation. I agree with Duo_Max, that the government should do something about this smart-ass punk.
 
Its in poor taste but there really isn't any crime committed. Nothing happened until that craptastic network Al-Jazeera got their hands on the video. That fucking station just loves stories of us Americans being killed.
 
Basically all that can be done is to publicize what an idiot he is. That he suggest this was to draw attention to failed political campaign says a lot about San Francisco but at least his campaign did fail. OTOH, he quite young. Once he's become a mature lunatic his chances of winning office in that town should improve.
 
If this guy got elected for any kind of policital position near me, I'd move away ASAP. And yeah unfortuneately no legal action can be taken against him, so short of maybe someone's family filing a fruitless lawsuit or something he can't really be touched.
 
He's got balls...I give him that. Obviously he is a little unconventional to be voted for office.
 
man you guys all attack him like hes the worst person on the planet. he does have points you know. the longer you stay fighting in a battle you cant win, the more people who dont have to die, end up dieing because we need to feed our egos.

Beyond that, he also managed to prove just how easily these videos can be faked. Remember the Marine who was supposedly beheaded and then turned up alive and perfectly fine a week or so later?

Personally, I think that the guy is an insensitive jerk, but he didn't do anything illegal. Offensive and in poor taste, arguably, but not illegal.
 
I think its pretty damn hilarious.

He proved a point that stuff can easily be faked, and this could accually help us eventually. He didn't do anything illegal. If he had just made a violent movie that people thought was real, thats not illegal.
