Hilarity.
Wow, it took all my effort to stifle my laughter in the office just now. Got some strange looks.
You're a pretty good artist. It seems like every time I have a controversial story you make a pretty funny cartoon about it.. maybe we should think about some sort of project huh? Cuz I have plenty of controversial stories... we can make it man.. take it right to the top. I bet Comedy Central would buy it..
Really? What else have you stolen?

If you didn't want someone else to falsely claim it....why did you take it? YOU'RE FALSELY CLAIMING IT!

at least if you gave it to your prof, there would have been a chance the original owner could have got it back

lol @ making up weakass excuses, just come out and say you want to keep the ipod, thief. karma bit you in the ass and there's more to come.
Sounds like karma's out to get you for stealing someone's iPod. Also, DON'T SMOKE, dummy.
Hey, it could be worse. Atleast he's not doing heroin.
fantastic, but wheres the ipod part?
He hasn't stolen it yet.

Regarding your seat, just let it be. Maybe somehow it'll repair itself. No sense being proactive and doing the right thing. If your seat really wants to be fixed, it'll patch itself.
Sorry to hear that happened to someone who drives that car =(
My thoughts exactly.. I once did the same exact thing in my old car, a 2000 Corolla, and didn't even care... but this car was pretty much perfect. Oil always changed on time, always used premium gas, kept it washed a lot of the time... now it has a blemish that is pretty noticeable, to say the least.

Wait, so this has happened to you before and you didn't learn your lesson *then*? Must be all the heroin. Dumbass.

You and I would get along very well, I think.
I'd just like to step in and say that I *believe* (according to my comic anyway) that it was a friend of his doing heroine, not him.
Yeah, you're right but there's one more thing I wanted to ask you. What's up with your signature? Are those countries you support or what?

Or.. after having read the text under the image, I guess that's how you see WW3 happening huh?

Damn, seems to be a lot of honest people in this thread. Can't say 100 percent that I would return the ipod either, basically like finding 100-200 dollars laying around. To each their own I guess.

I think he did it previously, and he said there was nothing wrong with it.

Honesty is clearly not of any concern with the replies I've seen. All I've seen is self-serving ego protective character attacks. Most of the people aren't here to have a debate about what's right, or to even say that they would do the opposite of what I did..

Because that's not even the case, most of these people would do the same exact thing. Yet, they don't need to hear all the details since they've already made up their minds. This person is a thief, a drug addict, etc. Labels are good enough for them. This happens all the time on forums, like this one, and others as well. Anonymity provides a veil that they can hide behind, and launch attacks with no fear of real reprecautions. You really can't expect much from a crowd like this.

No excuse. Sure, there are probably immature people here, younger people maybe.. what does that mean? Do they need to know how to censor themselves? Don't we have mods for that? I thought there are supposed to be rules here...

What do you mean gamerscores? Is that anything like karma on GameFAQs? I thought all we had here was a post count and then after you hit 1000 or something you could do a custom title.

So here's my view on things:

Was keeping the ipod wrong? Well, yes very much so.

I find it funny how many people are ready to tar and feather this guy for doing what oh so many other people would have done, including many people here on this forum.

You find an ipod pick it up, all day long you have good luck!

..or not so much in this guys case.

Ok, so the real issue at hand is this guy is asking for help on fixing his car seat that he did by carelessly smoking in his car.

My advice is to stop whining and get a car seat or pay to get it fixed, you did it yourself so you must pay the consequences.

I wonder though, if this guy came in here and told everyone that he had burnt his seat in another way and had not even mentioned the ipod, would things be different in here or would everyone still be on their high horse looking down?

I'm really looking for a creative, yet cost efficient solution. I'm going to ask my grandma tomorrow what she thinks, she always helps me with sewing and stuff like that and she's good at fixing up clothes, furniture, carpets, etc..

And to answer your question, people here are constantly on their high horses, like I said, it's the Internet Anonymity Syndrome.
Make an attempt to return that iPod to its owner.

Oh, and aren't there fabric repair kits for car upholstery?

http://www.accessconnect.com/vinyl_leather_fabric_repair.htm
I've looked into those, they would require me to recolor the fabric myself.. which could be difficult.. since the seats are a combination of dark blue cloth with a dark gray pattern on top of it..

Actually.. I guess at that price I can risk it. I'll see how the color compares to the fabric and then decide whether or not I want to attempt applying it, thanks for the link. :)
TBH I didn't even care about the iPod thing, hence why it wasn't in the masterpiece.

Dude makes some entertaining topics, what can I say?
You missed my post regarding your sig? What's up with it?

You can barely see it. One time i went hunting and my uncle left his spot light on. Someone was like "Something is Burning" Looked inside and there was a 6-8 inch hole in the middle seat of his truck. The spotlight was facing the seat burnt it and melted some of the spotlight. Looked hilarious. Wish i had a picture. Those things are dangerous. We were about to go to sleep too so it could have been much much worse.

That's not actually a picture of my personal car, it's just a pic I took off eBay and then drew a circle where my burn is. My burn actually isn't terrible.. the yellow foam was showing at first but I took a black marker to it and it somewhat matches.. still, you can definitely tell that there's a small hole in the seat.

Still, my burn sounds like nothing compared to your uncles. :)

I would've kept the iPod, too. Don't sweat these fools.

But yeah, please don't get seat covers. :puke: I think a crappy patch job would be enough. As long as there's no burn hole showing, I wouldn't mind it.. Just slap some similar cloth on it.

If you're in the Massachusetts area, you can have my seats. I had an '02 Impreza RS that was totaled last week. Probably could track the thing down and beg my insurance company to let you plunder it.

Are the covers the same? For some reason I doubt it.. mine is an 04 WRX. :(

Oh also, maybe your seats are even nicer? Are they bucket? If I could completely replace mine with yours, that would be a nice alternative. The question is, would they fit? I'm also definitely not in the area... That's a big problem.

Yea.. I'm not sweating them, I've seen the way they "fight" and that's simply not what I'm about.

Anyway, your suggestion is pretty much right, but the next question is: how do I do it properly? As of now, my plan is to consult my grandmother, who clearly has an affinity for these types of things... Then I might go for the $10 kit that the Doctor suggested, after that.. it's back to the drawing board.
