10 to 16 inches in fort wayne by tomorrow. and they are talking about another major snowstorm coming Friday night into saturday ( i heard we could see 4 to 9 inches this weekend)

You know its bad when they close down the newspaper. I been working for the paper (delivery) For 10 years and this is the first time they ever called it off.

It hit Illinois overnight. My college is having a snow day because of it and I couldn't be happer since that means more FFVI time.
Big deal. Some parts of New York are under 12 feet of snow.
well its a big deal here cause usually we are lucky to see 3 or 5 inches at once. I would love to live up there in New york where they got those 12 feet of snow (I LOVE SNOW) i just hate driving in it. I remember driving up to battle creek Mich and having to drive though feet of snow up there.

and one other major thing. I think those places in new york said they had the streets cleaned within a day or two. I was told we would be lucky to have the streets plowed by thursday or even friday (just in time for the next storm)

I least i can now put more time into playing FF 6 LOL

Funny thing about the college the one here IPFW also closed but they total BS is they never told anyone till now. I would of been pissed if i drove out there at 8am for nothing. Hell i havent been to class in 3 weeks

It's not *hit* annywhere in OH, IN, or KY yet. It's speculation for today and tomorrow's accumulation, but little happened last night (though I'm still off today, FWIW).

Our college went 20 some years without closing for snow.

So far this year, we've had two snow days, and one early cancellation.

And they've all happened on my worst day of the week. (Tuesday)

I couldn't be more happy!

Whatchu talkin' 'bout Willis? There's over 6 inches so far here at OSU. Unless there's ANOTHER storm that might hit..

we got 3 inches so far. Its not the snow its the freaking blowing snow that is the major problems. I hope the weekend storm misses us.

I still remember friday she was saying we was going to get hit by this massive storm and noone belived her . So im starting to belive that we will get hit again this weekend.

I don't know if this snowstorm or that last one was worse... I'm at IWU and the place is a complete fucking mess right now.

run little car!!!! the snow monster is about to eat you LOL

they just closed down all the malls . AHHHHH THE MALLS ARE SHUT LET THE PANIc BEGIN.
Am I the only one that wants to run and dive head first into that pile of snow?
Yes, because under that quiet surface is a sheet of UNMELTABLE ICE.

fucking weather.

Yeah, I got hit by snow in central Indiana really hard (I got to college at Purdue University). They finally canceled classes for the first time in several years. The weather is crazy right now.

It better not freaking snow in Fort Wayne this weekend because I'm coming home there (to get my haircut, restock on food and supplies, pick up my copy of Rogue Galaxy).

We're supposed to get 8-16 inches by tomorrow morning... if that holds, looks like we might have the first snow day of my working career. It's worse in Akron which is where most of my coworkers live - if they aren't coming in, neither am I.

My work's already on a "delay" for tomorrow, with no 3rd shift tonight. I hope the weather holds, as money is already tight. Damn snow.

I'm getting hit sorta hard right now. It stopped snowing, and now ice rain is hitting the ground, and covering the snow in ice. Its getting really thick, and I'm wondering if the mail will even deliver today. Unless the postal worker has steel spikes on his/her boots.

I dont think the weather is too bad in Indianapolis, however, the sleet will probably make the evening commute home worse than the drive in to work.

Snow I can deal with since I can see it, ice on the other hand... I fear losing control of my car after a long sleeting.

I don't mind the snow, but it's the ice that's coming down. That noise of it hitting windows is quite irritating. How are the roads in Indy? I haven't ventured out yet.

Nothing to bad up here yet... Its ironic really that everywhere but us are getting hit so terribly. I mean lake effect is normally terrible around here..

I wonder if this is going to delay any new releases (game or movie) or anything? Obviously there are more important things to worry about but it will be interesting.

We got hit, I live right by Chicago, but nothing really bad yet the streets are a mess right now. Might have to cancel my plans to go to the bulls game tonight because of this fucking snow and the roads looking like shit!

Reality's Fringe;2662323]It's pretty bad where I am said:
That's what we have. I shoveled my house/sidewalk this morning, and it felt more like I was trying to shovel water than snow.

There's still some downpour comin' (I'm 'round Cincinnati, so about 2 hours south of DoK), and the winter weather advisory in effect. The snow has helped create these wonderful enclaves for the water, so slush is everywhere. It still isn't bad, but the moment the temperature drops 2-4 degrees, the whole town's gonna turn to ice, and then we're in trouble.

Yup, I'm in Dayton and they're saying another 7-10 tonight, that might have been total accumulation though. Hopefully, we'll get another snow day. I could use it for my paper.

Eh, I've got all my work at here. The only difference b/w "snow day" and "not snow day" is me and my 'jammies.

I'll tell you what, I don't miss moving away from upstate New York. Those winters could be fucking brutal. Of course that is all in retrospect. When you live in it, you just live in it, you don't really bitch about it. Now that I have lived in the south for around 12 years, there is no way I could go back.

One thing that does suck about snowstorms down here, everyone fucking freaks out, grocery stores get wiped clean, and there is not enough equipment to take care of the roads worth a damn. A few years ago when I was still living in Nashville I was stuck on the interstate in a snowstorm for 6 hours!

I got my mail. (Final Fantasy VI!) If I get it out here in BFE, you'll get it where you are.

Yep it finally came. I know the mailman hates me. One of the worst days weather wise in a while, and he had to deliver 3 packages.

I'm in Champaign, IL and all classes were cancelled today at UIUC. I just transfered here so I'm not sure how long it's been since the last time this happened. There is a wall of snow about 3 feet high along my sidewalk from the wind blowing it between my apartment complex and the building next door. I'd say there's about a foot (average) of snow everywhere around here. Supposed to be some more coming on Thursday and we're under a blizzard warning until further notice, however long that is.

I'm in Akron and I'm glad today and tomorrow are my regular days off. Shoveled the driveway at 4, now it doesn't look like I did a thing.

Yeesh... this has been a pretty brutal February. Hope everyone has enough supplies and that the power stays on for you.

Watching the Simpsons here in Albany, NY, and there was an advisory at the bottom of the screen:

"This is an extremely dangerous storm and all unnecessary travel is discouraged."

Still nothing coming down here, but I don't see myself going to work if it's as bad as they're predicting...

We didn't get our mail at home today.

Granted, the town population is 550, and they don't deliver if it's too bad out.

But I'm here at school anyway, and they delivered our mail.

EDIT: A lot of grade and high school have already cancelled for tomorrow. I doubt the college will cancel this early, but I have a 9:00 class tomorrow. It wouldn't bother me one bit if it was cancelled again!

Hell, we get a threat of ice, people in SC go friggin bonkers. Though it is rare and people can not drive here in fair weather.

I miss the snow. Use to live in Bermington, Washington. Big difference between South Carolina and there.

To all the Yankees, take care. :)

Same here. I have an 8:30 AM class tomorrow. I hope to god they cancel before it if they they're gonna fucking cancel.

I have class tomorrow at 6:00 pm, so hopefully it will cancelled too ;)

bleh major disaapointment

total snow around 8 inches. they were saying all the way up to 11pm last night we was still going to get 13 inches.

I hate having two bosses. Yesteday i was told

Do not deliver the papers if there is a level 2.

Today my other boss calls and tells me to deliver the papers today (even though we had a level 2 snow warning)

They are now calling for 1 to 2 inches this weekend (they said at the most it will be 5 inches but it will 99.9% sure it wont be more then 2 inches)

Took around 2 hours to dig out the driveway. the backyard (for the dogs to play) and the sidewalks. Then had to go to work at 1 to 5pm (though i though i had the day off until the boss called)

Overall it was a fun 30 hours (tuesday Noon till Weds 6pm) Love playing in the snow

Sadly it will probally be another 10 to 20 years before i get another snowday off. (asked someone working down at the paper and they said the last time they called the papers off was like 1994)

little update for those in fort wayne

looks like they are calling for 2 to 4 inches by Saturday night and mix tuesday and weds

Friend (who is really into weather) is saying we will be lucky to get 1 inch out of this clipper but be on the look out next week. She is saying that they got it wrong (they are calling for 30 to 40 o outside and rain next tuesday and weds)

she is saying that how she is looking at it the track might take a turn to the north and if it does. WATCH OUT CAUSE we might get 5 to 9 inches of snow out of it. Or a nice batch of freezing rain

So lets say she is right about the two possibilities... the weather report just took the two options 1 inch & 5-9 inches and went with a somewhere in between of 2-4. I find that most likely how they do it anyways but its still funny.
