that's just the last thing i thought. better than christian shepherd babbling for 5 min & saying nothing ending, imho.
 
It's complicated, but the Man in Black died. When he went into the cave, he released the monster and his body was found dead on a pile of rocks. Smokey appeared as the Man In Black after he was dead (in the beginning that is). As for Jack not turning into a smoke monster, maybe he was still protected ala Jacob, OR, perhaps the island knew he had good intentions. He was stabbed just like the rest... Mother, etc.

don't get me started on the "mother." she was just as evil as the man in black & wanted to choose him...oh i'll go on forever (this was an edit).

watch the episode again, i PROMISE the man in black was found on a tree limb just like jack was (looks like same spot). it could also be that jack went down there voluntarily.

i won't get into much, but as i said, that was the least of my worries, just the last thought i had while watching the finale. the whole "sideways" thing didn't wash at all (except it being explained by a man named christian shephard "explaing" why they were all there in a church to move on). THEY made that place to meet up again? where'd that power come from? when did they do this?

in the enhanced ep. it always said those were "what would've happened if 815 didn't crash," then it ends up being purgatory. there is no way danielle ends up being alex's mom, ben a teacher (though more plausible cuz he could've given up on the island, and knew how to leave), hurly being lucky, etc., just because the plane didn't crash. desmond was down there pushing the button (HATING whidmore), danielle had been there 16 years with her baby taken by linus (like he'd of given it beck before giving up on the island, then them never knowing each other in the sideways), and SO MANY other inconsistencies. Abrhams always answered everything in Alias. i hate loose ends, and i know he didn't write it, but to have his name on something, i expected my 6 years to have been better topped off.

makes more since being a purgutory & them not telling us (just using a bs reason till we knew); but even then, why was desmond scared of he & charlie dying if they couldn't (or would they go to a flash other side....ways)? i'd be here for days, but MOST importantly....

where the F*** was Mr. Echo? that pissed me off as he was a fav of mine.

it just sucks they never used him again, like they did the other characters. at one point the smoke spared Mr Eko (i haven't a clue how it's spelled), then killed him later. he was a great character, and i wanted to know how his faith mixed in with the island philosophy. oh well. as you said, i feel duped.

EDIT: btw, don't waste your time trying to resolve those issues for me cuz i have probably several hundred more inconsistencies i would continue to bring up, lol. i just have to accept it as you said you have, and it will never be what we were promised.
