Man talks during movie, gets shot

They were watching '...Benjamin Button.' Talk about adding injury to insult.

I've forcibly confiscated a few laser pointers in theaters but this is a bit over the top. The guy had his gun clipped inside of sweat pants. Does this sound like an excerpt from a Sopranos episode or what?

Holy shit, I used to go to that theater all the time.

fuckin trash that lives in Philly. It's no surprise, actually.
You guys cheering this on are bigger assholes than the guy who was talking. :|
Honestly. It doesn't make it ok to shoot someone just because they were talking. If the guy was that mad, he could have gotten the family kicked out of the theatre by grabbing someone who worked there. You morons will support anything in todays world. Maybe the next time someone doesn't like the clothes you are wearing they can go ahead and shoot you...but that's ok, because we've all been annoyed by other people before. Real morons of this story...half of CAG.

The guy definitely deserved it.

I hate people who talk during movies. Even if my friend leans over and says something to me, I hate that. I hate when people exclaim things during movies.

Seriously, just sit down, shut up, and watch the film.
Wow some of you guys are really anal.. :whistle2:s
Interesting word choice, lilboo.

In all seriousness, while the guy (obviously) didn't necessarily deserve to be shot, there is no point in seeing a film if you're just going to talk during it.

If I paid for something, I want to be able to enjoy it. Someone talking over a film decreases that enjoyment.

Normally unnecessary acts of violence and/or insanity would cause me to shake my head in further disbelief over how fucked up our society has become.

This, however, deserves a standing ovation. If I were the theater manager I'd give the man free tickets for life, just to make sure the audience always behaves themselves out of fear.

I wont condone the guy getting shot but lets be honest, how hard is it to be courteous in a fucking movie theatre while the actual movie is going?
You guys cheering this on are bigger assholes than the guy who was talking. :|
You've never gone to a theater where people are talking, have you?

Wow you guys take going to the theater really seriously.
It doesn't happen all the time, but yeah.. sometimes people are rude. It doesn't really ruin my day.

i wish i could've shot the people in the theater i went to the other night, except instead of one guy talking it was everybody in the movie i was watching. We got the owner to come in to tell everybody to stop talking and they basically just told him to shut up. The girl sitting right behind me was talking on the phone. Not whispering to tell the person that called that she couldnt talk because she was in the movies, but talking loud as hell with her phone on speaker phone just carrying on a conversation.

As a side note when told to turn off their cell phones by the owner they said they didnt have to because obama is president now. Hmmm

One of my friends was around something like that. They were in class..and the professor told this one student (who came in 30 mins late wearing headphones) to "please take off the headphones" and was told "i dont have to listen to you anymore, Obama is president"

:whistle2:?

You think it's bad now, just wait until he actually takes office.

I've been to this theater as well, though it's been a while.

No need to shoot somebody, just a nice old-school cross to the face would've been sufficient.

@ lillboo lol, wow. I'd say you were making that up or exaggerating, but I actually kinda believe it.

Question... What do movies cost these days again? Where do these kids get the money to go. Sadly, I know the answer... mommy and daddy. That's why they don't give a shit about anything and why they shouldn't procreate but will...

Anyway, Why in gods name would anyone go to the movies again? Especially when there's a perfectly good flat screen and free copy of the movie to watch?

A good professor would have used it as a segue into a lesson on logical fallacies, in particular the non sequitor

I really do not appreciate it when people talk during a movie---especially if they are talking about the movie after already seeing it once prior.

Theaters should hang up signs warning people they'll be shot if they interrupt the movie. Lot fewer people talking during a movie.
It's great that handguns are legal. Super great.
If the guy hadn't been talking this wouldn't have happened. THAT is the root of the situation, regardless if he was shot, stabbed, punched, kicked, etc.

BTW, I like your avatar.:)

The only difference would have been "Father of family that talked during movie Stabbed in Thoat by angry patron".

Violence is gonna happen no matter what you're armed with. Take a look at countries that ban weapons, plenty of gun crime and 'crime in general' happening there too. The only difference is there that the bad guys KNOW you, Joe Q. Public, probably don't own a weapon :p

When Guns are Outlawed, only Outlaws will have Guns. Sad, but True.
just when I thought I found a community that didn't bring race into everything....
Who said anything about race? All I read was how amazingly stupid people believe that Obama is the next Jesus Christ and will absolve them from any personal responsibility. Unless, of course, you're arguing that saying anything negative about Obama or his supporters is a racial prejudice...

Typical ignorance...

Well Said.

There are going to be people....mostly ignorant people I might add....who will try to leverage Obama's presidency for their own personal gain, be they ignorant toothless rednecks wearing white pointed hoods or mis-informed street-prophets demanding slavery restitution in $10's and $20's.
Typical ignorance...
Explain, exactly please, how what I said....is ignorant.

Did anyone even read the freaking article. A father got shot because his son was talking. Its not like he was being a douchebag and screaming in the theater. His son was probably talking and he told him to be quite and the other man says something bad to the kid. Any father wouldn't let some dude talk to their kid like that, he says something and gets shot.

Hey guys, next time you do something rude, I'm gonna shoot you, alright?

Cut me off? You're dead.
Curse at a lady? You're dead.
Insult someone because they don't believe Obama is the second coming of Christ? You're dead.
Praise a murderer on an internet forum? You're dead.
Type like a dumbass who never got past kindergarten? You're dead.
Blast your shitty music? You're dead.
And of course, talk in a theater? You're dead.

I'm glad you guys are all okay with my new way of doing things! :]

Here are some simple rules to going to a theater, for those who aren't in the know...

1) DO NOT TALK UNLESS YOU'RE SAYING "EXCUSE ME"
2) TURN OFF YOUR DAMN CELL PHONE! Text messaging still has a light, and even though you aren't talking, seeing a glaring bluish light can drive a man like me insane
3) DO NOT TAKE KIDS TO A 'R' MOVIE! You dumb fuck, leave them at home or with a friend.
4) YOU'RE NOT COOL BY SCREAMING OUT RANDOM SHIT.

If people followed these rules, nobody would get capped...
