Manga sale at Book Closeouts

Thanks for this post. Sounds like a legit sale, unless shipping sucks. But I've never had any manga-- is the Cowboy Bebop stuff any good?

EDIT: Shipping seems very legit. I added 6 random Mangas just to get a shipping quote. $3.65. Is the site reliable? Also, any ideas on what to get if you're a first time Manga reader?

This is also my third time ordering from them. Shipping takes forever, but it's a completely legitimate store.

Any ideas of good manga to get my girlfriend? She likes a bit of anime, but also as far as literature goes, likes vampire romance. X_X

I bought ~13 volumes of the Suikoden III manga series from them last spring, and was totally satisfied.

I'll likely pick up their Fruits Baskets offering -- thanks OP!

try rosario+vampire.but it's not in their selection =/.I'm thinkin about getting some warcraft manga. Anyone know if they're any good?

Thanks OP I was able to get 30+ manga that wanted but some of the 1 i added on my cart ran out without I was shopping for more :( but on the bright side its 0.99 cents each :)
 
Thank goodness I'm quite unfamiliar with the manga scene these days. There's a bad perfect storm brewing. I've been laid off, I've spent tons of money at the Best Buy anime clearance, and I'll be gone all next week at GDC thus unable to bring in any packages that may be deposited at my front door. I didn't go crazy but still picked up a sampling of things that looked interesting.

Nono. She isn't like that. Sound advice though, and I checked that out when I found out. No, a lot of females like this vampire horseshit. See: Twilight novels/movie.
 
How about "Lament of the Lamb"? It's a vampire romance with a creepy incest undertone. I picked the series up from bookcloseouts a long while back (they only have vol. 2 currently).

Over the past 5 or 6 years I've probably ordered $300+ from this site, and not one major issue. Sometimes stock numbers wouldn't be accurate over the weekend and come monday, my order would process and a very low stock book would be removed. Don't know if they've improved their inventory tracking or not, it's been a while since I've ordered from them.
 
Thanks OP. But... The only thing I read from Tokyopop are Fruits Basket and Lupin. At least these prices are slightly cheaper than my local discount bookstore.

Your local discount bookstore sells manga at a little over $1 a piece? That's unheard of in my area.

I just received my order today, and it didn't go very well.
7 of the books I ordered were not included, and they sent me duplicates of 3 I did order. I'm in the process now of trying to get a refund on the books they didn't send. I'm not hopeful of actually getting the missing books, as they've been removed from their site.

Man, that sucks. I had two separate orders (due to rushing the first one as stuff was disappearing from my cart) and they both arrived today and had all the books I ordered. My problem is I think I went a little shop-happy since the books were so cheap and I was rushing like mad to get my order in once stuff started disappearing from my cart. I've got around 15 books I'm probably never going to read/enjoy.

If anyone is interested in trading (other manga, games, etc., even cash) for these then let me know.

You're about 2 weeks late. Most of the good stuff was out of stock within a day anyway.

I talked with the CS, and they're agreeing to give me a refund. I'd have preferred the books, but that wasn't an option. Overall for how much I paid, I won't complain too much.
 
I got my box today. Everything was good with the exception that they missed one (yet charged me for it and showed it as shipped on the box).

Still waiting to hear back from CS.
