Many Hollywood Video/Movie Gallery going out of business... Good Blu-rays, etc cheap?

CAGiversary!

May be a way to get a good Blu-ray under $5 there. Or very highly demand SD DVD there that's NOT on Blu-ray.

I have not gone to any yet, may today sometime. Any of you got a deal there?

They carry posters, exclusive products too?

My main worry isn't when they will be a good price, but all those dumbass people who are IGNORANT and will buy a Blu-ray for $15 that has been $9 before on Black Friday, think it's a good price. By the time, we think it's a good price by OUR standards, good stuff all gone... like other store closings in the past.

It'll be just like any other going out of business sale. In other words dumb asses will buy something that's far above what it sells for every day elsewhere just because its a "going out of business sale" so they think in their head its a "great deal."

No kidding, some dude is bragging about getting 6 movies for $40.

Bobbleheads is 40% I think.

Nah it's NOT that good, even for Adult movies at Movie Gallery 30% or 2 for $25 is very poor!

I don't know if that's so bad, depends on what movie you get. Haven't been to an adult store in over 5 years but last time I was there some of those DVDs were $70 new.

For video store sales I don't even bother going until the final days because I don't want to see something I want and hope it's there when I come back. Last time a Hollywood Video closed I did alright with about 30 movies at less than $3 each, but Blockbuster put that to shame last month when my wife went a little crazy and picked up over 250 titles at $1-$2.

I've been to mine and the prices are ridiculous. It's the same liquidation company that handled the circuit city closures. The previously viewed blu-rays are $16.99. I can buy most of the same movies new for around that price. No thanks. Games are a mere 20% off and are in very poor shape.

If it's those same guys I'll definitely go the last day. At CC they still had a few decent things and everything was 90% off except I forgot to follow Black Friday rules and hold onto everything I was remotely interested in so I missed out on a few goodies. However up until the last day the discounts were pretty meh.

Lord, at Movie Gallery, we have Adult DVDs 2 for $5 any NEW/OLD combination. I got myself pretty much a CART load of Beautiful Big Breast Beauties Adult movies. I also got a few Maybe ones...

I ain't Ebay horder, (although it would make me Richer) so I didn't get those that didn't seem like attractive to me. I got a few that seem good because the cover had a girl seem attractive, but in the back didn't seem like so, fell in such trap many times before... but anyway I got it and if I don't like it I would resell those on Ebay

When I got there, a lot of people already emptied out the other good ones. There were ones I seen before I wanted, but didn't find it. Although I think I got the next pretty good ones. The 2 FOR $5 Adult deal is HOT!!! On the $29.99 DVDs that's like 90% off! :D

This is the FINAL week! Blu-rays are like $7.xx, so I am waiting, Goin back/call back tomorrow, everyday to ask if they drop further

Mine (Scottsdale, AZ) was basically 10 bucks a BD and most them were never even played - especially the catalog section. Picked up about 7 movies that normally go for 15 or 20+ at Amazon. Seemed a pretty good deal to me. Zombieland was the only one I missed out on that I may have wanted. And now you my story.

Too bad I NEVER seen any Adult Blu-rays there, but for a couple of SDVD titles I got, still left there I think could easily go for $10 at least if I ever lose my job and can make a decent living out of resell... for a month or two.

Picked up Band Hero in perfect, if not new, condition for $18 complete with manual and original case.

Also picked up Angels and Demons 2-disc Blu-ray set for $8 and change. Now I just need to find a blu-ray case to go with it...

I went to the Movie Gallery in Gastonia, NC last Saturday and bought:

Parks and Recreation: Season One - $3.99
It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia: A Very Sunny Christmas - $3.99
Numb (starring Matthew Perry) - $3.99

I also picked up a DVD copy of Zombieland that was $3.99, but hesitated and put it back down. I would just as soon wait for a < $20 price on the the blu-ray.

Nothing spectacular, although I think $3.99 each for Parks and Recreation and A Very Sunny Christmas is a pretty sweet deal. Also, all of the discs were in pristine condition.

Is that the one on Hayden and McDowell?

When Blu-rays and HDDVDs first started coming out I thought to myself "Wow, porn will be so much better!" Then I thought about it some more and realized how many bruised and pimply (is that right?) asses I've seen in porn and seeing them in Hi-Def might just turn me off to porn altogether.

mine had 40% off...but that works out to nothing considering it's 40% off MSRP. Used blu's @ $15 is not cheap. Their empty cases are 5 for $1. Picked up 25 empty and new PS3 cases just for the hell of it. Woulda liked to buy some of the shelves off the wall but didn't have a truck:(

National Treasure 2 (last one)
Semi-Pro (last one)

From the top of my head here the rest I saw:
The International

You Don't Mess with the Zohan
The Flight Plan
Rambo
Rambo III
Saw III
Saw IV
Last Chance Harvey
Obsessed
Mall Cop
My Best Friend's Girl
Primeval
Revolutionary Road
No Reservations
Bride Wars
Hairspray
Heroes (season?)
True Blood (season?)
The Punisher
Vantage Point
Behind Enemy Lines

The Other Boleyn Girl
Labor Pains
What Doesn't Kill You

Anyway, all came in the generic HW rental box with the original insert.

The one closest to my house is closed as of this upcoming Monday. They had been more or less wiped out, except for the foreign movies section. Grabbed a bunch of stuff. 56 DVDs, came out to be $163. A little less than $3 a DVD.

That totally depends on the looks of the actress. I buy ones with really attractive ones, hell no to all those that has actress that look Nasty and look like girls you see on streets every day! :p

So, yes HD do make porn look better, but you have to be picky how attractive the girls are when you buy them there are a lot of porn with females look no better than girls you see around you ;)

I went a couple of weeks ago and nothing, i called and they said new releases are 50% off and used 80% off at 8.99, so im guess new releases are around 12-15 which isn't that bad

i MIGHT go by but i doubt it because they didn't have anything worth buying last time and i have a feeling the guy was lying to me when he said they have a bunch for sale because they had like 30 blurays for sale last time.. and all were trash.. i dunno

I stopped by on my way to krogers and they had no good blus, all were 16.xx on old and new, almost all of the new release dvds were sold which i don't buy normal dvds anyways (unless they are shows)

good news is they had 4 for 10$ on shows and i picked up

Off to War season 1 (i believe its the only season, i saw a few eps on tv and loved it)
Saving Grace Season 2 (amazing deal)
The Riches season 1
The Riches season 2
Sopranos Seasons 1-6

only problem is i have about 40 cases for these LOL im gonna have to go online and order like 10 6-disc cases which will run about 15-20 bucks so not a bad haul.. amazing they still had sopranos i didnt have a ton of cash on me i was going to get all of the wire seasons and a few more shows but ill just pick them up tomorrow if i still want them

My local Movie Gallery just put up the closing sign, but all their prices are really high right now ($14-17 for a blu-ray).

Stopped by the Hollywood Video near the TCC Portsmouth campus. They probably had a ton of stuff I want, but there was no organization at all. They had video games tossed in with their movies, along with a few blurays here and there.

Picked up a few things

Angel-A
Meatball Machine
Doppelganger
Shikoku
Tokyo Zombie
Peace Hotel
Fulltime Killer
Junk
Zombie Honeymoon
Yakuza Demon
