Mario Kart disappearing?

Anybody notice an utter lack of mario kart wii in retail stores. I haven't been able to find a copy since well before Christmas. I have a couple in store credits from returned Christmas gifts, and haven't been able to find a copy anywhere new, except walmart.com. Does this seem a little odd to anyone? Is Nintendo up to something?

I am guessing they will be reprinting it possibly without the free wheel. It isn't going to be discontinued as it's a top seller.

No? My stores have dozens (if not hundreds) of copies.

My local stores have just started to restock after the holidays, Nintendo didn't anticipate demand AGAIN this year.
Mid-December to Mid-January there were none to be found on shelves.

My Target has at least 12 copies and we get regular shipments when we run out.

Hmmm, just must be my region. We are a hub for the most of the state and pretty tech-embracive. I wasn't expecting them to drop MK or anything, but merely wondered at the possibility of a Players choice release finally happening. Oh well, I'll just have to keep my eyes out. Just need this and 1 DS game to reach platinum status for the year.
