Understanding Wins/Losses -

Genocidal mentioned it first and godhatesjustyou put it into small list

Good idea.

Dr Mario Kart and I just had a race...tied at 30 - 30. He's pretty damn good.
Anyone race against R.O.B. yet? I have yet to see him.
 
Is there a cag thread where we can enter our friends codes and play other cag? If not there should be. Nintendo did an awesome job on this game.
 
Here's a question...if we choose worldwide, will it include our friends list AND other people? Mainly is there some sort of preferencial treatment for the friends list before Ackbar in Gerblackistan?

I just played a great "Rivals" match. The standing fluctuated after every race (everyone moved). It was great... and I ended up winning! ;)

Pits you against people of similar skill level. I'm not sure how it determines that, but that's what it's supposed to do.
 
I swear, I think I'll stop playing against people who are like 25-0. Either they are crazy good or they just leave if you get ahead of them. Most likely the latter.
 
I've only been able to play regionally. For some reason I can't connect with anyone on my friends roster.

So far I am 8-0. Also it's probably been mentioned in other threads, but people disconnecting because they are getting smoked is really really lame.

Thats why ranking systems are so bad to put in games, it always brings out the worst in people. If there was no ranking system, people could just chill and play some cart.
 
Well, I'm 6-3 now, had nobody DC on me. My friend (battle mode is awesome BTW, Block Fort kicks ass :D) has had six people DC on him already, though.
 
Tied with some random guy 3 consecutive times before sweeping him in the 4th playthrough. oy.

Edit: I believe I was clearly ahead of the Nigel Machine at the end of Chocoland 2. Boo

Dammit...my internet keeps disconnecting - just for a second, long enough to freeze up and cancel the race but not completely disconnect me from WFC. I was winning, too! Grr!
 
im posting in this thread since its active, but i just wanted to say that ive been connecting with people much faster and easier when i select rivals... that is of course when you arent playing friends, btw add me lets play! PM me!

Just beat some guy named BillGate$ with 'xbox 360' hand written in green for his emblem.

That puts me at 82-21 in 2 days. I think I'll go to bed.
 
It would be funny if all CAG's got the same emblem and start a clan of sorts. Then whenever you see the emblem you would know you got schooled by a CAG'er.

Anyway, I'm in the same boat as asianxcore. When I connect to WFC, I can see the friend icon blinking, but if I select a friends race, it never connects me. I can play in all other modes but it won't seem to match up friends for me. Very discouraging at this point.

I went so far as to delete all of the friends from my list except one and then we both tried to initiate a friends race at the same time. Still no dice. I hope whatever that issue is, it gets fixed fast.

I was searching the Nintendowifi forums for this problem and ran across this. Pretty interesting:

When you connect to the NWC, you are connecting to a central Nintendo server (the one whose status is displayed on www.nintendowifi.com). However, when you request to be paired with other players, that is handled by regional servers that are run by GameSpy, not Nintendo. Thus, it is possible for you to have connection issues even when the server status says it is up (because this is just the central server status). If you get booted while searching for players, it is likely due to an issue with the server in your region that handles these pairings, particularly if this happens after repeated attempts. All of your pairing requests go through your local server, regardless of whether you are searching for regional, worldwide, rivals, or friends. The most common Error Number when this occurs is 85030.

If you have this issue, please call Nintendo's Wi-Fi Customer Service at 800-895-1672 because Nintendo does not know the status of these region servers as they are run by a third party. Reporting these issues as soon as possible can help restore the region servers to operating status as quickly as possible. When you report this issue, Nintendo in turn submits a trouble ticket to GameSpy if they believe that this is indeed the issue.

So here is what we need to do. Someone PM me anytime today if they want to race so I can test this out again. It seems that most everyone else is not having these problems. If I still can't connect, I'm going to call that 1-800 number and report is as an issue and see what happens.
 
If we make a logo, it needs to be at most %25 of the available space, so we still can have our own "look" to it...besides that i just really like my Alien Hominid decal :)

I say get some of the sig guys... (Onetrack I am calling you out here) to create something small to go there...

Maybe its to small for that much detail though....
 
how do some people draw such good logos?
mine are awful.
i saw some guy with an almost perfectly recreated Lloyd from TOS
 
LaseK, there's a website somebody posted in one of these Mario Kart threads where you upload a picture and it creates the emblem from it. I'm too lazy to go searching for it though but I'll post it tonight since I saved it to my favorites.

Yeah, I was thinking a small CAG on one of the quadrants like Daroga said. The [CAG] tag is a good idea too. Either one would be cool.

the [CAG] thing makes sense, but considering how short the name entries are, im not sure if that would work.

Also, there is a website that takes an uploaded picture and puts it into DS format...and some people use "sprite-sheets" as well

Well since I've lost about 80% of the races I've played today when 80% is normally my win ratio, I think I'll take a break. Apparently I cant do anything right at the moment
