Sweet. I just picked this router up from BB for $40 AR. My old Linksys bit the dust.

EDIT: Weird. I was just on the nintendo WiFi site after reading about the router list here and it let me in. I went to the "find hotspots" link, got a 404 error, and now the main page is the old placeholder. I guess they're still getting ready for the official launch.

Has anyone ever preordered anything at (or work at) Toys R Us? I'm just wondering if I can expect this to be in on its ship date (the 14th) or if it'll be later than that (Tuesday or Wednesday). They seemed to have Castlevania and MP:pinball really quickly around here, though I can't recall what days I called them for those respective games.

this isnt going to help my job hunt... on a side note, i went to the find hotspots on nintendowifi.com and there are 20 mcdonalds with hotspots within 6 miles of me, i thought that was neat, even though i have a wireless router

I talked to the guy that was manager or something of the R-zone and he said they get Nintendo things fairly quickly. So I'd expect it on Tuesday if thats the case with all TRU's.

Or check Walmart because mine always puts games (Atleast Nin. games) out on Mondays, everytime I went to look for one it was out on the shelf.

As for the WiFi stuff, I'd just not assume that your router doesn't work with WFC.

Try it first and hope for the best before assuming the worst. :)

I know. I pre-ordered from EB but I'm tempted to go to Wal-Mart on Monday to see if they have it and then cancel my EB order. I pre-ordered online with in-store pickup so I haven't even been charged for it.
 
A friend of mine is going to WalMart today to get a DS and gonna see if they'll sell a few early (assuming they have them already). I'll keep ya posted, but don't hold your breath ;)

Display copies (empty) most likley. Nintendo generally does not ship out games a week in advance...but it MAY be possible.

Do they really ship stores an entire box of display copies? Seems like overkill, but what do I know?

I do hope most places have this in stock B&M on Monday, as Tuesday nights are killer homework nights for me.

I did notice at TRU last week an employee opened up a pretty good sized box full of empty Tony Hawk DS game cases.

The local TRU has in EIGHT display boxes for Shining Force Neo and EIGHT display boxes for Radiata Stories... when I asked about SF: Neo (I thought they were real for sale copies, had a coupon) the employee told me how they were all displays, and that the game hadn't come in.

Checked on his computer, the store is slated to never receive any copies of it... I mentioned how it was weird, and he said the same thing happened with Radiata Stories.

So yea, it's weird they get in multiple display boxes, but even weirder they get them in for games they will never carry.

So, the icon-maker thing was posted above. Anyone have any thoughts for what their icon is going to be? I've made 3 so far, I'm thinking I'm going with the fireball.

I edited the original post with some links, incuding that. Those I made in Photoshop, the icon maker will map it out to the best of its ability to be drawn into MK. By and large it works pretty well if you don't have *too* complex an image. Even bigger files translated well in my experiments.

Yeah I bought both mario Party 4 and 5 early by almost a week (the previous thursday to the next tuesday release) at my local Toys R US.

So it probably is real..

That would be breaking street date, so no they can't. Though some do sell early when they're not supposed to.

I was accused of getting a DS early and breaking the street date last year with my DS. I posted pictures and many people just assumed that. ;p
 
Are the routers listed at nintendowifi.com the only ones that will work with Nintendo Wifi? I have a D-Link 614+ and it's not on the list.

Nope! The ones listed are just the ones they know for sure will work. By and large, I think every WiFi access point and router will work. It's pretty standard.

I had no idea until I saw a review posted on IGN.
Theres yet another DS game to own.

My friend just IM'ed me about it this morning. I had no idea that was coming out so soon. I almost created a thread about it. 8.5 on IGN - not bad at all.
 
This is probably only a quesiton that Quigoni knows, but can you do up to 8 people in a full-out GP or is multiplayer racing limited to single races?

Next week? That's weird. My Rhino got it today, I actually held it and looked at the back of the box. They may have put it out for sale.

Load it into that icon maker, and it gives you a blown up version of it so you can easily draw it, pixel by pixel onto the DS. Pain-staking for complex things, but better than trying to free-hand it :)
