i've got it now that i went to wally world...i can connect to the WFC thing but it never finds any opponents for me...guh
 
You have to be patient with WFC. Wait like 2 minutes for anyone to connect.

Also try going Worldwide as you'll definately get people quickly that way.

thanks for the tip...i did worldwide and finally got one opponent and won all four races.
 
Man, sure wish I could try out the WiFi, Too bad I won't be able to until the weekend when I either head to a WiFi- enabled friend;s house or a Mickey D's.

i might grab it today when i get off work. i called the van nuys walmart and they got it already.

my problem is my dlink router is not compatible with this wi fi thing....so i might hit up a mickey dees to test the whole wi fi pla.y

You know what would be funny is if Mario Kart DS actually gets a nomination for Game of the Year :lol: Who would've thought a DS game of a 13 year old franchise would still get such phenomenally impressive reviews.

Wow, nevermind! It IS $25 at Frys tomorrow! AWESOME PRICE! saves me $22 off the price (Including tax), enough to buy another DS game.

I'll stop by Frys on my lunch break around 12 and see if they have it in. Otherwise its after work at 5....Atleast my work is a 1 minute drive from Frys.
 
The hype doesn't even live up to this game. It's amazing, simply amazing. If you have a DS, you must own this. If you don't have a DS, get one and Mario Kart.
 
Hey, how does the game allow up to eight people to play off one cartrisdge? Does the owning DS act as a server. I read about that in GS and thought that was an increadibly coolk feature.

I am definateky going to pre-order a DS/Mario Kart Bundle for $135 from Buy.com before the week is out.

I stopped at walmart on my way to chucke cheese but the didn't have it yet. Hows the wifi? Do you think tournaments will be possible?
 
this is just an idea for the op, maybe the friend ids should be organized by region, ie everyone puts if they are west, east, central, or mountain, something like that, that way we can minimize lag in some instances

Online play for DS games was intended to be a bonus and not the central point/focus of the game. I cant help but feel that you shouldnt buy a game that you dont like just because it supports online play. But thats just me.

WiFi is very cool and works very well. Played several tonight when I wasn't blitzing through 50CC GPs to unlock things (Dry Bones is my man! ;) ).

Tournaments will require a little effort, but are certainly doable.
 
Just a few more minutes and i'll have my copy.. no online mode here at the house, have a wired router.. but i'll have a wireless connection tomorrow at mcdonalds between classes
 
Damn I went to BB and TRU during my lunch around 4PM and they didn't have it yet. TRU said tomorrow probably and BB said Weds. We didn't get it at work either (I work at CC now after an odd turn of events). We did have a huge stack of empty X360 boxes, I'm bout to take some home for some hilarious Christmas gift wrapping.

I have it now. Haven't opened it yet. Most stores probably won't get this tomorrow, but they'll definately have it by Wednesday. I'm about to try it out.
