So I understand in Wi-Fi there's so many tracks. That's fine.

But Um.. i was racing and when all 4 people get to pick their track.. I've seen tracks Bowser's Castle and Airship fortess came up for one guys pick..
How do you get to play these tracks online? I love Airship fortress!

I checked some game sites for codes..and didn't read anything on it.

Anyone know about this???

As far as I remember all the tracks are playable if everyone has the game. The tracks are only limited when you do single card play.

According to the Mario Kart DS Wiki, You can't play it on WiFi.
Here's the chart that says it.

No I'm not asking if you CAN.

Let me try and clear myself up.

I was playing on WI-FI.
3 of the 4 people picked tracks that are on there NORMALLY. (I picked Baby Park, someone had Peach circuit and I forget what the other was). This 4th person picked AIRSHIP FORTRESS.

We didn't play it, but next round came..
Again us 3 picked normal tracks. This guy picked Bowser's castle and we played it.

I really have no idea how, and I guess no one else does.
Are there hacks for Mario Kart?!

Has this happened to anyone else? It wasn't like it was a glitch, I mean this person PICKED 2 tracks that were not on the list that you normally can pick.

Hackers.

Evil, loathsome hackers, showing up Nintendo by proving that bandwidth issues aren't valid excuses to keep certain things from online gameplay, including various tracks, animated flags, and other such things.

It's the love-work of fanboys, but it's also kind of a wake-up call to Nintendo.

It is, for all intents and purposes, hacking. They are probably using passkeys and roms and such.

Sigh, I had a feeling it was that.

Why do people do this? It's so dumb. Granite it's not a big deal at all.. but.. when people do things to cheat and it affects gameplay.. it's just boring. I think this is why Im having more fun playing Tetris DS then I am Mario Kart latley (wi-fi that is) because from what I know.. there's no cheating in Tetris.. just some SKILLED people. Which is good!

I also have Metroid, but only played it once...and usually FPS games get hacked (so from what i heard).. have people tampered with Hunters and Tetris (wi-fi play)?

I hope Nintendo somehow comes up with a way to put an end to hackers..

I read about this somewhere. They didn't hack the physical cart, but used some sort of add-on to play it. Most likely through the use of a flash-cart.

EDIT: Here's the excerpt from wikipedia

"Normally, there are only twenty tracks available for online play. Recently, however, a user with the alias "Parasyte" [3] discovered how to unlock single player tracks for use over Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, using a PassMe and a Game Boy Advance Flash Cartridge. Tracks such as Airship Fortress, Tick-Tock Clock, Waluigi Pinball, and others have been played online. Apart from a kfew minor glitches, these tracks can be played just like the others. A hack has been released online by another user, with the alias "Natrium42." [4]"

Wait... so, you get to play a level that's not normally available to play online and you think its dumb/boring/cheating? From what you posted, all the guy did was unlock a level. How that any of the aforementioned negative traits?

Noo, see there's a difference. This was hacking with no bad side affects like some games have. It wasn't like the game was messed up or anything.. and it's good.

I just hope it doesn't get outta hand, that's all. And by outta hand I mean where it becomes negative and cheating is involved. That's what I meant!

Oh, I see. I just couldn't understand why you'd complain if there were issues with gameplay. But yeah, if there are issues then that sucks.

I wonder how long before people figure out how to actually cheat in these games.

They already are, I know there have been lots of reports about people cheating in Tetris and people hacking Animal Crossing for rare items.

How are people cheating in Tetris??
My only gripe about Tetris is that it throws you in a random match. Like when I play Push Mode and here I am with my 12 wins and Im up against some oriental with 880 wins.. really doesn't seem fair.. LOL

Just wish people would stop their cheating :(

And yeah I have heard of people hacking Animal Crossing too.

BTW, why ARE some of those tracks NOT playable on Wi-Fi in Mario Kart.??
Wish they had balloon battle too :(
Granite it's not a big deal at all..
I believe granite should have been granted. For some reason this easy mistake annoyed the hell out of me.
If these tracks worked fine with one person hacking and the rest not, why were they blocked in the first place?
Because the tracks don't work completely fine; one of the features a few of them have in common that I can't remember offhand is broken (I know Airship Fortress at least has the problem). Parasyte also figured out ways to indeed cheat in Mario Kart DS, which include using a 150cc cart online and racing on a different track than everyone else (For example, while everyone else is racing on Rainbow Road, the hacker would be racing on a shorter track such as Baby Park), but as far as I know he didn't release them to the public in order to keep the online play fair.

On a closing note, if you think that there aren't people cheating in Tetris, you're fairly naive.

do they have bots for balloon battle?

Well what exactly do people do in Tetris? It's not that I'm naive, it's that I haven't read up on anything. I've read about hacking in MK and AC, that's all.

Could you or someone else explain to me what's goin on in Tetris??

Since I personally don't play Tetris, I'm not sure exactly what they do, but I do know some friends who have played online against people that have been hacking (which doesn't surprise me as these friends are playing with their M3s and FlashMe'd DS systems and most likely playing with others who have the same setup).
those damn orientals..
What are you talking about? My best guess would be that it's 13 year old American haxxorz doing this crap (not making the hacks, but using them).
That was uncalled for.
I don't think he was being serious. I think he was just trying to poke fun at the fact that the OP said Tetris isn't fair because it rivals him against "orientals" that have a lot of wins, is all.

I am surprised there are still people out there that use the word "oriental" to describe anyone of asian descent. Seems very archiac to me.

The only thing that Tetris on Wi-Fi has taught me is that I suck at Tetris.

I correct people on this nearly every day. If they dont get it, I tell them to try calling a black person 'colored' or a 'negroe' and see what happens. ;)

The cheating kills the gameplay for me.

I had it happen last night on MK where some guy was bouncing all over the place. He'd be way behind and then an instant later be way in front - never passed me. It's not a race at that point but just a waste of time. I just turned my DS off.

That sounds like a bad case of desync actually. I see what your explaining alot on Rainbow Road.

OMG someone needs to PC this whole topic.
Didn't Nintendo say that the tracks weren't included in online because of latencey(SP?) issues? I also saw on wikipedia that they do have minor issues

So do any of the unlocked tracks in Mario Kart work perfectly?

Granite, it's scary to be playing hackers. But if they can unlock cool levels like Airship Fortress and Waluigi Pinball, let them hack and let me play!

My grandmother does, but she's 85.
