Im in talks to this guy on craigslist that is selling his mvc2 for ps2 complete for $50 the question is if i should jump on this or pass. Im going to try to see if i can lower the price even more :)

Thoughts?

what is there to think about? Try to get it as cheap as possible, play it, then sell it for more monies. Or keep it. I love MvsC2.

That.

I'd say get it if it's in good condition. $50 is not bad for this game considering it goes for around $75-100. And worst case scenario, you can sell it right back to someone eventually for the same or more. It's a GREAT game. DC version is better but not that much imo.

Bottom line is that if you're a complete slave to fighting games and/or split-second frame differences, or you have infinite shelf space for up to 4 systems at a time, try to get the Dreamcast instead.

For most of us normal folk, the PS2 version works fine. I bought mine for 50 bucks, and even though it was and still is a bit steep, it was worth the fun I got out of it.

Look on eBay. the game is selling for $60+. Get it, play it. Keep it if you love it, sell it if you don't. $50 isn't that bad, especially considering the quality of the game ;)

Get it. If you don't like it, I'm sure many of your fellow CAGs, myself included would be willing to trade with you.

How old is this ad? By taking time to haggle, you run the risk of someone else offering the seller a little more for it.

The ad is about a month old. The person responded pretty quickly within the day but it seems people are more interested in getting ps3 60gb and wii's around my area.

There's a copy of this game on a website that someone in NY state is offering up for $7 or so, up near Cortland(just outside of Binghamton). Now, if I cared about this game at all or felt like bothering with Ebay, I'd try to go up there and buy it from them.

But, I've never personally liked Capcom fighting games and with gas going OVER $3.50 a gallon now, it's just NOT worth the trek. Plus, the ad is from the beginning of THIS month.

Best of luck to you OP, though I had people trying to haggle me down on my games and systems before when someone else came in and offered me the EXACT amount I wanted.

Guess who got the games/systems? Not the person trying to get me to 'take less', that's for DAMN sure. Hagglers/lowballers should all drop dead as far as I'm concerned.

anything that sells for $100+ on ebay is a good find :)

imo even if you pay GS $80 for a used copy, i think its still worth it. although, the DC version is still superior. people just prefer the Ps2 version over it :)

Makes sense, considering all of the PS2 systems out there. And even though it might be cheaper to go out and buy a DC and the better version, it's not as good a value. If you get bored of the game, you aren't going to get much for it, unlike the pretty penny you'll get for the PS2 version.

o.k. im going to buy this for $50 bucks (he posted this price on his craigslist post) but he mentioned it doesn't include the manual (damn bastard) and is asking how much im willing to pay. $40? $45?

Thoughts?

Neat. I paid $20 for my copy maybe 4 years ago, then sold it on ebay last year some time for $83. Of course, this is after I ripped a copy of the ISO to my HD... same thing in the end, since I didn't play it very much in the first place!

In the end, $50 is good, but without manual, $40 sounds ok. Though if you're getting a version to add to your collection, I would pass on it without a manual...

True story: Walked into a Gamestop last month, saw Disgaea 2 for $25, bought it with Edge card. Walked out, noticed it had no manual (you can't really tell with Gamestop until they give it to you), and walked right back in and returned it, 5 minutes later. Shrug.

Can you please STOP talking like THAT. It is really HARD to read ... it's normal to try and haggle when buying on craiglist, if you don't LIKE it then don't use craiglist.

With no manual, I'd offer him $40. It rarely hurts to haggle. Yesterday, I got an owner of a pawn shop to lower a $25 item to $10 within 5 minutes. You just have to know the right way to do it.

Without the manual, i'd offer him $40 too. Check the disks condition also, if it isn't the best, then you can use that as another reason to offer $40.
