Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 (PS2) in stock at Gamestop.com

just make sure it works with your ps slim becasue the one i have works great on all other ps2 systems(i tried) except my ps2 slim

ah fuck it, i think i will take a shot and buy it. (probably will be disc only but who knows)

edit screw that, it is in stock at 5 of the 6 closest gamestops according to their store locator,(if that thing can be trusted)

1. How many do they actually have? I put 100 in a cart (not to buy, hold your flames) and there were no restrictions like you see in an EB shopping cart.

2. How much would people here be willing to pay for a complete copy? I can buy several copies to lower the shipping cost per item. Sell the complete copies to fellow CAGs for a modest profit (5%) and dump the rest on eBay a large profit.

3. Has Game Quest Direct been selling this game online recently? I know they've reprinted Cubivore and I don't want to get caught in another episode of "Dump your product before everybody realizes there's been a reprint."

This is one of the few games that GQD could never reprint due to licensing issues, unless capcom acquires the Marvel license again sometime down the line there will never be any more copies made.
well you can probably use a 25% off code to bring the price down $12.50 still too much imo
What coupon? There are none right now known.

damn, $50! I bought this from Gamestop Online back when it was $25 during a buy two used get 1 free sale. That was a great deal for me since I was able to get Klonoa 2 also in that deal. I also have the Dreamcast version but I haven't played it in years.

But you know the DC version's better, right?

I am so wary of buying used games from gamestop.com because a) I want mint items and b) they need to be complete with case, manual, etc. There is no way to tell this stuff when buying online. I always get them used at Gamestop B&M because of this.
You think $50 is too much...just check on ebay what a complete copy goes for. :)

I noticed it goes for $75-100 for a complete mint copy on ebay. Probably why GS has raised its price since this game used to be cheaper from them.

It comes in-stock at ebgames.com fairly often. It's guaranteed to be complete of course, and you can use all the normal coupons as always.

Eh, I've got a copy and it works fine on my PS2 Slim. Got it a hell of a lot cheaper than $50 too.

Ther Marvel license is pretty damn easy to get...they give out their licenses to just about anybody. I think the problem with the license right now is that certain characters are tied up in movie deals that include video game tie-in deals. Capcom could put out a version with less popular but still cool Marvel characters if they wanted. DC vs. Capcom would be cool...or DC Vs. Marvel. They did the comic book and split the profits...no reason they couldn't do a game and split the profits.

I ordered it off EBGames.com and got a pretty scratched up copy for $37.90. It works though, so I really dont care if its scratched or not - its the best damn game ever! :D

i got a copy at an eb for the xbox about a year ago and it was scratched up pretty good but it still works. i think i paid about $17. This thing is selling on ebay for an average of about $48 used. I had no idea, people would pay this much for a old scratched up game.

Are there anymore ps2 or xbox games that are like this( rare and in high demand )?

Keep dreaming, that is what keeps the value up.

It's amazing how much this game has gone back up in value. I managed to get my copy during CC's clearance sale 1.5 yrs ago and paid hardly anything for it.

It's probably due to the reprints. The market is repositioning itself centering on titles that collectors view are not likely or not able to be reprinted.

I found a mint copy at GS for $50 but didn't pay that for it due to trading for it - after getting a new manual for it from Capcom I'm happy. I'm not selling it but if I were to it would bring $100 easy on ebay. Of course by the time I do sell it it will probably be worth $10 again! :)

When did they do a comic?

Damn i want this game bad! I loved the first one and still play it sometimes and i remember having alot of fun with this one at my friends house on his Dreamcast. I wonder where i can find this for alot cheaper...

I think the DC version loads slightly slower.

It loads a tiny bit slower but it's way closer to the arcade version, has actual tag teaming too...none of the PSX/PS2 -VS- series games have tag teaming in them.

It comes to this, even Saturn versions of Capcom games are better. X-Men VS Street Fighter, Marvel VS Capcom, Marvel Super Heroes, and Street Fighter Alpha are beautiful games on Saturn.

Huh? I can swich and assist in the PS2 version just fine. The only thing bad about it is there are some slowdowns when it gets busy like 4 characters on the screen.

Really? Maybe I was just a little silly, but when I do it like in the arcade version, it doesn't work. You do it by pressing HK-HP, right? Maybe my button configuration is messed up

Yeah, the DC version is the more accurate arcade translation but I can't stand using the dreamcast controller for fighting games. Plus I already unlocked everything in the DC version. Currently, playing the PS2 version to open up all the color costumes.

Also, to the person who ask if I thought $50 was too much... yes it is. First Gamestop isn't guaranteeing that the game is complete. And $50 for a used game is outrageous to me, no matter how rare it is. I have never paid more the MSRP for a videogame.

This is a little OT, but since sarausagi brought it up, I have to ask. I came across a sealed X-Men vs. Street Fighter on the PS1 for $20. I obviously picked it up, but I'm wondering if it's worth actually opening and playing or not.

No, not at all. I actually bought it out of need when I sold my Saturn X-Men VS Street Fighter years ago. I figured the basic gameplay would be the same even if the graphics were slower [I had both copies of Street Fighter Alpha 2, and while the Saturn version was far superior, the PS2 was not bad at all]

X-Men VS Street Fighter on PSX has no tag teaming, only assist, and the music sounds much worse than the Saturn/Arcade version

Sell it, the game is pretty rare, I've only seen disc only copies used for a long time.

Thanks for the input, sarausagi. Looks fleabay, here I come!
Don't trust the GS Locator, it's useless. I learned that long ago.
Its a little more reliable than you think, the only problem is that the employees keep the good games in their own little stash so that customers can't buy them before they can. For some reason though, managers just seem to let it go.
